I tried to flash back to stock with odin but software tells me pass. I don't know if I'm doing it right. I tick one package and select the tmobile tar file and the ops file and I press start. version 4.38 Am i missing anything? I can't hard reset it because the button combination doesn't even work anymore. please help me

Getting stuck at the boot screen isn't a brick. It's a bootloop.
You can try going into recovery then doing a reset by using Vol up + power keys.

The volume up and power button combination doesn't seem to work anymore. The were working just fine before the unroot . How else can I get in recovery mode? Or any other ideas?
if you can use adb anyhow then type adb reboot recovery

I tried to update my SGS to android 2.2 through kies wihtout puting my phone in to recovery mode. The firmware seems to be lost and the device cannot boot only give me a black screen with word samsung galaxy s GT I9000 wrote on it.
Iam very new in android devices please help me. I do not know what I should to do..
Mine did the same thing when I flashed with Kies.
Try this: Hold Volume UP, Home button and on/off button together until a screen with a few options appears. Select Wipe/factory reset from the list using the volume up/down button. Select ok and reboot. You will loose all your data but your phone will work again.

BTW You did the upgrade the right way. With Kies you don't need to go into recovery or download mode before flashing. Follow the previous posters instructions and if that doesn't work you'll need to search around here more, for other flashing methods or just to find out if your internal sdcard is dead.
A friend asked me to repair her phone, it seems that some guy tried to carrier-unlock it and some other guy tried to flash a Firmware for other model. When the phone got back to her it was broken. So she gave a bricked phone to me and asked me to repair it.
Well the thing seems to be soft-bricked, it's stuck in a bootloop, it displays the samsung logo twice, turns off and then on again until batery's removed.
It won't go into recovery (HOME+POWER), but it works in DOWNLOAD mode.
I tried flashing the stock firmware for the phone (S-5830), I even tried with the version for my country and original carrier. It won't work, ODIN gets to flash all the files, then reboots the phone and It's in bootloop again! Tried some other firmwares, none works or goes into recovery.
Also tried flashing ClockWork Recovery via ODIN, no luck. It won't go into recovery for doing the wipes.
So right now I'm scratching my head. I'm noob with samsungs, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or it's just that this phone is broken.
If this guy messed with the EFS file, that may be the reason it's in bootloop? Is there any solution?
EDIT: THE MODEL IS s5830 SORRY FOR THE MISTAKE! I USED THE RIGHT FIRMWARE!
PD: SORRY FOR MY POOR ENGLISH, I'M SPANISH. THE PHONE SSN IS S5830GSMH original carrier: ORANGE
Thanks you very much!!

Sorry I messed up the numbers, I spent hours last night with this and I'm going crazy. The cell phone is a S5830, that's what I can read under the battery. So I'm in the right forum and used the right firmware.

I tried newest and oldest firmwares. I don't know what the latest version of Odin is, I tried 4,38. Still not working..
BTW I FOLLOWED EVERY SINGLE GUIDE I FOUND FOR UNBRICKING AND FLASHING, AND I CAN'T GET THE THING TO WORK.
Use Odin v4.42, install the drivers properly and flash the stock. After seeing the pass option in Odin, disconnect your phone from pc which will be stuck in a boot loop. Now, take off battery, put it back in, reboot into recovery ( power + home button, release power button when something appears on screen. ) & select factory reset option ( volume key to move up and down, home button to confirm and power button to go back to previous menu ). Now select reboot system now. Done !!
Hit thanks if I helped...!

NOPE. Tried with that Odin version, it finish flashing, PASS, reboots and the screen is flashing (doesn't show battery loading) until I unplug.
I remove the battery, put it back again, HOME+POWER but still in bootloop, it won't get into Recovery!!
It just flashes Samsung logo twice, reboot, flashes again, reboot... Stuck there, no recovery!! I already flashed this device dozens of times with different firmwares, Stock, Carrier locked, custom, etc... NONE ALLOWS ME TO GO INTO RECOVERY FOR THE WIPES
Go to the service centre, they'll fix the problem for you.

I would kiss you if i could. Thank you so much i thought my phone broke now, nothing worked. I tried it for days. Thank you whole heartily :victory: :victory:
Hi everyone. I have a rooted Galaxy Note 1. I accidentally tried to update something (the phone said there was an Android update or something) and now my phone in stuck in a bootloop showing the Android logo. When I try to reset it (volume+home+power buttons) it goes to an Odin "Downloading..." screen and gets stuck on that.
I've seen some stuff about unbricking the phone using Odin to return to the original stock rom. But from what I can tell, there are different stock roms available depending on your Country Sales Code (CSC). So apparently I need to look in Kies for my CSC to know which rom to download, but Kies doesn't recognise the phone, I guess because it's bricked. I know the phone is from the UK, but I don't know what network it came from (I bought it second hand). All I know is that it is unlocked now.
I have CWM.zip, CWM-SuperSU-v0.87.zip, and franco.Kernel-r5.zip on the micro SD card from when I was rooting it ages ago. Do these have anything to do with fixing it?
Any ideas on where I go from here? Thanks for your help.
Which volume button did you press ? You need volume up + home + power to get into recovery.
You can flash any rom from any region using odin.
Same problem
Hey,
Thanks for helping me in advance...
I used the Custom ROM (( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970626 )) Ultimate N7000 for a long time. However this build became more and more unstable the longer I used my phone.
So I decided to go back to STOCK.
So I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
And everything went well (Odin didnt give any errors)
However after reboot... the problem began... I cant turn my phone on anymore.... It seems to be stuck in a bootloop....
How can I fix this?? please help me
Which rom did you flash? If you flashed JB, boot into recovery and wipe data. Then reboot.
Hello
I have a Galaxy SIII mini (i8190) and it blocked and stopped working. After that I couln't put it on again, only with Vol down+home button+on/off button to get it into download mode.
When I press vol up+home button+on/off button it boots but it stays on the Samsung logo screen.
I already flashed my older Galaxy Gio S5660 and that worked perfectly with Odin.
Now I want to do the same with my Galaxy SIII mini, but it still doesn't work.
I already flashed a root file, a wipe file, param_i8190 file, CWM file, afterwards already 3 different stock roms of the i8190.
But it still boots, shows 1/10 sec the light of the return and menu button and it keeps booting.
The 3 stock roms I tried were: I8190XXALK6_I8190XEFALK1_HOME_ROOTED.tar, I8190XXAMG4_I8190PROAMH1_HOME.tar and I8190XXANA2_I8190PHNANB1_HOME.tar.
The baseband version I normally had before it crashed was i8190XXANA2 and the build number was jz054k.i8190XXANA2.
I'm from Belgium using the Telenet netwerk, and Telenet uses in fact the Mobistar network in Belgium.
Does anyone know what else I can try to do, or in which order I have to flash everything?
Every time I flash something with Odin, it always works and doesn't give any error, shows "Pass" but nothing changed on my phone.

Yes I already saw this solution somewhere but didn't know if it could be trusted
I will test it today when I can
thx in advance
I flashed the three files, with re-partition also, but when it boots it still gives the same thing
I also can not go into recovery mode
To be sure I even used the wipe file before I flashed the LaFleur
If it still keeps on booting and I can't get into the recovery mode with vol up+home+on/off
I have been trying to fix the random reboots that came with the SpaceX kernal for Note 5 N920C and now I cannot boot my phone.
I have tried wiping all data and clearing cache. I cannot find a stock kernel.

Your phone should now tell you that you have no operating system. And that should be why you're stuck in a bootloop. In this case you will need to install the original firmware back on your phone and start the rooting process over again. The easiest way to reinstall the original operating system is to use Samsung Smart Switch on PC.

If you use Samsung Smart Switch, it will ask you for the model of your phone, and the Serial number. Then it will find the right firmware for you. The way you would get to that information on your phone is to boot in download mode.
"While the phone is off, press and hold the volume down button, power button, and home button at the same time. As soon as the phone starts to boot, let go of the power button while STILL holding the volume down, and home button."
Your phone should boot into a minty greenish screen. Press the volume down button again and it should give you the SN for the phone. That should help in locating the correct firmware for your phone.
Flash my SkyHigh kernel and should boot. Will auto root again.
Link ? Search. ..

If you mean the SM number, I have that along with an IMEI and other information that came with the phone. Right now my problems seem to be:
Cannot flash any custom ROMs because I get stuck on "NAND write start!!" on ODIN. I have tried multiple ROMs, multiple USB ports and multiple versions of ODIN.
My computer drivers for my phone seem to fail after about a minute of using my phone causing my phone to be seen as an unrecognized device. I have tried re-installing the drivers many times.
When I go into smart switch it never recognizes my phone. When I plug it in on the Download Screen it just says "Connecting..." and eventually says my device is unsupported.
Okay, here is an update.
I tried initializing my phone after smart switch failed to connect to my device and after putting in a serial and model name it says that the N920C does not support initializing.

hi,
As far as i know Smart Switch does not support./work on rooted devices..?
I might be wrong, but this is what i have read in other similar threads/post in past.
Plse check, this fact to be sure, otherwise you wasting time trying to get it to work.
Good luck
post note.
Stock kernel is included in stock Rom.
If you try to flash old stock Rom it apparently won't work(re bootloader updated etc) . It has to be the correct latest stock Rom for your particular device! not just any Rom..?
I also noted it has to be Odin v 3. 10.7 ? something /i believe.
plse note
i can't really say for sure as,
My Note5 is not rooted...... yet all my other devices ..... Note 2.. 3....4 is !
O, yes i also have N920 C device (not rooted) and Smart Switch works fine.

It kind of sounds like zit is a driver problem. You said you did a full wipe of data and operating system on phone. So I wonder if it could also be the type of firmware you are trying to install? I would try to install a fresh copy of the new stuff firmware from Sam mobile or smart switch in order to make sure all the drivers are pm running properly. @wilcor I agree with you 100%. I am a little confused as to why the phone would fail when installing roms or fresh firmware??
Ok, thanks everybody I eventually got this problem sorted. I called samsung and they told me what country my device was from and after that I made sure I used ODIN 3.10.7 and the ROM for AFGHANISTAN and it installed successfully. Thank you for all your help.
