Reboot?
Too much happening in background?

Tried it all. Same problem still
Sent from my Potato

i think the problem is with the cpu governor

It is syncing or installing apps... besides you need a reboot or reflash because v30b as smooth as cm10!
Posted from my Optimus Black

I saw it too in my ob.. you could use "Pimp my ROM" from market, and fine tune your device... further, I installed Xperia Home for smoother operation and change to HTC keyboard for less RAM consumption.. the result more or less is acceptable, though not as smooth as custom GB..

lagging even though over clocked

I'm using rocket rom v23 with Abyssnote kernel version 4.2. And overclocked to 1.4ghz with ondemand using SETCPU. I don't have any background running application other than background data and gps enabled all the time.
For past week my phone is very slow and i need to wait for couple of seconds to let the app open. Why is this happening and what is the resolution?? I don't have any issue in battery. And also I don't want to loose any app's data.

Overclocked? But it's already 1.4 ghz.
Which launcher do you use? How many apps installed? How many widgets placed on your screens? And beside that just a simple hint: look forward for ICS...the lag will be gone immediately

You mean the official update? How can you be sure it will vanish the lag?
It is clear you have done something to the system.. even a stock note performs better than this.

Lag is in most if not in all Notes !
My Galaxy Note also have lag problem
I have GS2 and Note and GS2 is like bullet on Stock gingerbread ! Just open app booom opened ! I think it's because GS2 already had a bunch of patches and updates to the OS comparing to the Note !
So I think the only way to fix this in Note is to wait for ICS !

Try rebooting into CWM then clearing cache and davlik cache. I had similar problem with another ROM gradually slowing down and wasn't sure what was causing it. Clearing the caches sorted the problem.

I have overclocked a few phones in my past, but the Note? Really its so fast and all works super smooth. Maybe with the right ROM where the dev already pre-overclocked it... But setCPU was never working great for me. Maybe just my opinion, but wipe, and get yourself a good ROM. No need to overclock this beast.
There is no lag "problem" per se. period. Stating there is a "problem" makes the assumption that there can be a fix.
You cannot fix the inequality in display processing between the S2 and the Note, given that the Note must process 2.6 times as much information for the display as the S2, so it will ALWAYS appear to be not quite as fast as the S2, given it has similar hardware.
So given you cannot get a gallon of beer in a pint glass, making it a different pint glass (ICS) wont help.
Now, sure the appearance of "lag" on the Note can be minimised thru tweaking optimisations, but note (small n) that the same can be also applied to the S2! Essentially, never in a month of Sundays will two devices with similar hardware, one of which is doing 2.6 times the work, ever appear to operate with the same UI zip.

The thing is...I don´t have any lag at all. Even with stock. BUT I can see a huge difference (on Stock rom) between TouchWiz and alternative launchers. Touchwiz is smooth as butter, whereas Go Launcher Ex shows a small lag (and it´s the fastest GB launcher alternative afaik.
And beside that: Currently I´m on Stunner (ICS) and here it is even a better experience. Absolutely no lag or waiting time, never, period.
I can´t sign the statement anymore, that the note is slower than a SGSII...I have both of them, and on Stunner it´s quite the same experience

Better performance for Games?

First: Sorry for bad english!
Hey guys! I have an questions and I thought you can help me...
I have an Optimus Black with CM7 lastest nigthly... And I have some lagg in games like MASS EFFECT, Dead Trigger, etc.
What you suggest me? Overclock to 1.2Ghz? or I just have to set the CPU to ondemand? O what I need to do for more performance in games?
I just want to play my games very smooth
Or a ROM with more performance in games? I haven't many apps running in background, just system apps and others like whats app, maps, viber. Also I have read the speed of the SD affects the performance.
Thanks a lot!

SD card speed does not affect performance but the game speed run the game on Android CM7 I have not experience with this rom but the performance in games will definitely affect the 1GHz overclock the CPU and the correct settings and CPU mode..
also enough free RAM affects performance in games.
I recommend the Zeus rom or any rom where you can set the OC kernel.

Thanks! the performance on CM7 is the best I had, and the usage of RAM is really really good! I recommend. Even so I have few lagg. I don't try Zeus ROM I heard many good things about it, but I don't want a based-stock ROM , And I love CM the customize is very good.
My friend have an iPhone 4 and the games looks very smooth in it ¬¬

Hey thanks! I alredy instal this ROM, The UI dislike me ... but the performance is great! Somebody can tell me what's the better CPU freq? 1000MHz (Stock) 1200Mhz (Sound good and stable) 1350 MHz (Sound really good but i'm not sure if its stable) and there is a notable difference?
Thanks, sorry for many questions but it's my first time with Zeus and OC
The CPU that's inside Black is OMAP3630 which can run from 1000 to 1200MHz on various devices (according to wiki). So 1200Mhz is not really an overclock. I'm not sure if Black is constructed in that way that 1000 is safer (heat dissipation) or this is done for purpose (market segmentation). I'm using Zeus with 1200 recently - no problems with it. Looking for other CPUs it looks like our processor could run much faster (ie. Galaxy+ can be overclocked to 1.9 from 1.4) but no one cares much about overclocking. Also wiki gives information that our GPU can be run 100-200MHz but in Black it is 100.
but it will use more battery

Idk if hardware acceleration gives a better performance for games XD I hope it.

What rom do you use
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda premium
The last one stable cm7 rom from the official site.
which ROM??which launcher are you using??
for me CM7 temasek 135.3 with symbiosis 1.3.1 kernel with guest toolchain fixed every lag...
when multitasking heavily i used to turn Zram ON (192mb).(also I used GO launcher EX....with every GO app and widget possible so my configuration was pretty high on memory consumption compared to other launchers)
give a try to windows 7 launcher as well..it is smooth as ****(you can also have widgets on that)
but be prepared to sacrifice a bit of functionality

Well at least that's what I noticed. You could try it out too. Try some applications without CF3D. After that install CF3D and run the same applications. Like I said, especially in launchers it eliminates the lag in transition effects. May just be a placebo but that always worked for me and significantly boosted the performance.

But maybe it is side effect? Who knows...
Anyway, the buttery system from tonyp works well. Also you can use Superchatger starter kit with suoercharger script. Good Luck OP

Try different kernel and different combination of scheduler and governor. Every kernel have a "performance" governor.
Btw don't forget that the benchmark are not really representative of the true performance of a device.
It is always good to have some big numbers, but some benchmark apps can be hacked easily to show to incredible scores (and in particular Quadrant).

I've been reading user opinions in GSMarena.com
and all the people over there are complaining of laggy interface, system, app lunch and many apps causing FC
and they also say the battery is draining like crazy !!
Never had random restart or FC more than once every couple of days and only in some messed up apps like Facebook. What's app, chrome, opera, viber,Skype, xda app, instagram never had fc. Battery life isn't great.I can't tell you if you should or shouldn't buy this device I did and I am happy but again we are different persons.

Well, I installed vanir rom recently and I am very happy with everything. If custom roms are taboo for you, dont get this phone, it will be a dissapointment, especially because of battery life.
Big drains in battery life are LG MLT?(IDK how its called),Logging service, Google Transport Services. If you dont root, you will get horible battery life.
You need at least root to disable this things.
Personally i had no lags on any of the stock roms but i switched to custom roms because of the horrible statusbar color. I'm currently using Cyanogenmod 10.2 nightly and i have no lags.
I'm sure there are fast, stock based roms out there if you for some reason do experience lag on the stock rom.
