[Q] which is the most stable cm10? - LG Optimus Black

Hey guys...
I was using v30b,but I'm wanting to switch over to cm10. So, which is the best option for me, In terms of performance and battery life?

Dark mod is cool. Nightlies are getting better since it's not 4.2 yet...
Don't use M snapshot, nor "stable"... it means nothing.

Why don't you just install ICS?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Because:
-Bat drain
-lags much more than GB at this time
-Some apps wont work, but are necessary (ex: clock)
-some fc's sometimes
and so on...

lol i had this feature when i had Darkys Rom on my phone,
i have to agree with noobwork94 on the ICS as mosts of the issues are fixed
But many of the users (me too), only flash this rom, when these bugs are "killed".
Or we have to wait for CM9 and hope, that they will add it.

one cosmic ICS 4.0.3 RC1 is good...
it is good for daily use...
only wifi theatre is not working...
as it is pure android, there is no file browser installed.
camera has very less options..
but, it is ok..

No it's not OK.
Camera Video Recording is jerk! it's like 2MP cameras.
very bad quality.
Exactly! Ics is buggy, so stop spamming with these "omg install ics its better lolololo" posts because we won't install it.

Hi!i would also like the taste of ice cream on my phone and allready thought about flashing ICS! But i also want a full feature phone, and dont wanna set it up twice a week! Ithink that the DEVS did some great work in such a short time, but there are also a few features that i would miss compared the GB. One feature are the toogles in the notifucation bar, i really dont want to stay without them! (And as far as i know, widgetsoid does not work under ICS)
So maybe a dev could make this nice animation available for all the Gingerbread users out there! If not, we'll have to wait for a great stable CM9!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERY ONE!

Which is the best JB rom on incredible S?

Lets discuss about it!
Codename?
Also which one have the few bugs?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
Codename by nikhil dhayatkar dated 030912 is the best and the smoothest jb ROM available. I'm using it for last two days and satisfied...

I've only used codename but considering its been updated twice, it's more stable compared to the other ROMs. Battery life is decent, nothing to write home about but Nik's ROMs are know to have amazing battery life, so once his phone is fixed, I'm pretty sure that that will get better too.

yeah Codename JB is an amazing ROM considering how soon ago it was released. Props to Nik!
Using PARANOIDANDROID ATM battery life is OK (last the day with medium use) but im yet to explore the paranoidandroid settings.

I am gonna upgrade my Project X v4.1 to PARANOIDANDROID!
Tried paranoidandroid. It is good &c but once you start tweaking with it, playing with the settings, removing some pesky google autosync apks, it begins to get skittlish as a harlot. Fc and soft reboots galore even on shifting apps to sd... Good but needs development to be stable.... Waiting....

Does anyone know when we will get cm9 or 10?

I tried paranoidandroid yesterday and I found that the notify bar didn't work also home screen button also didn't work so I go back to the project x

Maybe we will not get a official cm10 or cm9 we just have the port version

Codename for sure
Been using codename since a while now. Super smooth. Only the backlights and front camera are unstable. Also mobile data keeps disconnecting which is a lil irritating. And if you wanna keep switching SD cards, there is no unmount option in Settings-Storage to safely remove the SD card.......Its still not perfect but its worth the wait. There are fixes for those though so no need to worry.
Lotssss of tweaks and if you want performance and aesthetics Codename is the way to go. You can tweak the **** out of it as in you can O/C it, there are 2 finger gestures in the pull down menu and many mo. Damn its beautiful!!
I also wanna flash codename maybe I will try it today

Performance: CM10 wins here - regarding things like games, scrolling without lag, responsiveness of apps, etc. Especially the browser. I'd wager that even CM7 performs better than the official ICS, knowing LG's awful bloat.
Battery life: Official ICS (for now). P990 sources just dropped so many bugs with the SU660-based CM10 can be fixed quickly
I'd go with CM10 for now. But it's up to you.
Thank you! So i will keep the cm10
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app
this really depends on what you want your phone for.
if you want to use it as a phone as well as everything else you state here. the custom V30a roms are better (no major reports of call bug)
as RC has not released the new kernel version of CM10, the call bug is still there, so for now thats still the major deciding factor to my testing or checking out CM10.
I dont have the call bug

[Q] CM9 (Fat'n'Creamy) vs. CM10 (JCSullins)

Hi,
I just thought it would be useful to start a thread focused specifically and exclusively on the pluses and minuses of the two great choices we have for our Touchpads.
I suspect a lot of us are sitting with CM9 nightlies and wondering which way to leap...what do people think? What are the benefits and issues with each?
Thanks.

I'd say that is more of a "Pro" than a "Con", in my opinion.
Even without flash support we can still install it and run it with native browser or Firefox.

I was noticing graphics errors with flash on CM10, either low FPS or scrambled looking flash elements. I also got this in other UIs in CM10 randomly. I went back to CM9 since I don't really see the benefit of CM10 at the moment.

What's considered to be the best rom for stability and battery life that is ICS or JB?

Fed up with stock 4.2 (ROM suggestions)

I lived my nexus 7 on 4.1 but man 4.2 build is so bad. It is almost unusable to me. It is laggy and buggy with freezing all the time. Any suggestions on something very stable, close to stock? How is cyanogenmod? Ideas would be appreciated. Looking to root tomorrow I can't take this any longer.

I find Smoothrom and motley kernel to provide a very stable and fast combination with excellent battery.

Ι tried that for a day, it was smooth and all but the battery life while idle was horrible.
Reverted to 4.1.2 stock, is there a way to get rid of the notification to update to 4.2 (without updating ofcourse)...

Strange how peoples experiences differ
I use stock rom 4.2 and never ever have any kind of lag or freezing of any kind - everything works 100% and buttersmooth constantly
I never have to reboot or anything, it just runs for months and not even once have I had any lag or problems
Try a 4.1 rom, CM 10.1 is your best bet, but im not familliar of this device roms.

PM me if you need help
People have problems with 4.2 if they have old applications that are not updated for 4.2, don't clean their cache, or don't trim their storage.
Any complaints about battery life are due to applications requesting data synch or location. Those wake the Nexus up, and can be turned off.
4.2 is fine for me.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I had similar issues in stock 4.2, tried about 3 others before settling on cm10.1, which runs smooth as can be for me with good battery life.
Seems like the these things are pretty finicky and everyone's handles different ROMs differently.

I have not had good luck with aosp roms on my Nexus 7. I always end up back at cyanogenmod. Try fitsnugly's build.

You do realize not every device is the same. I keep good tabs on my devices. I would know if an application was causing the problem. I've factory reset the device and nothing has changed. Also I've heard from numerous people who have had problems like mine.

On slim 4.1.2...stock kernel...no issues at all! Love it!

I love sparksco's saber mod ROM (4.2.1). It's very smooth and has excellent battery life (10%/hr screen-on time + 10%/day). The supplied kernel is great but I prefer metallice's m-kernel.
Sent from my Nexus 7
That's exactly why I finally decided to root and rom. I did like the 4.2 features so I was shooting for one that incorporated those (dual-sided notification bar, etc.)
Paranoid Android nailed it for me. It feels just like stock 4.2 but is wayyyy smoother, wayyyy less problematic and has a ton of customization options.
I gave cyanogenmod and a couple others a chance first but Paranoid Android definitely has my vote.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I decided to go with AOKP and I am loving it. So much better than stock it's crazy. Like night and day difference.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
it hard to decide which is the better rom.
btw i'm using paranoid android+franco kernel
I Use the super Charged Series N7, although PRIME D01-25 is also good. Both are very smooth with great battery life, especially when using M-Kernel or motley.
NEXUS 7:
Unlock/Root
N7 Super Charge v1
M-Kernel
PimpMyROM
Jays Buttery Tweaks
This is too funny...
If you have the latest version of jb and it is so bad you can barely use it than you need an RMA.. While it out may have some minor bugs I used it for a long time and loved it... I only switched to paranoid because I love the pie..
It sounds like a hyperbolic exaggeration to me. If not your device is faulty.. or you have some really bad apps messing things up..
