Does such a thing exist? Rather than an official smartphone dock crom samsung that fits the note2. Im looking for one which has the usb port on bottom. Or if anyone has a recommendation for one. I do have an official samsung case on it

The only one I've found from Samsung is the universal one that fits the note and note ii.
Brodit do one for the note 2 but im not sure how the case will work with it. It has a dock at the base which the phone slides onto and then a usb cable which can be routed to the rear of your stereo etc. Very nice quality but expensive and requires screwing to your dash or a proclip (dash clip) accessory which is sold separately.
I also have the note 2 with official case and need a car mount with usb so let me know how you get on.

We still don't have an official S3 car mount, why would they make a Note 2 mount?
Vzw makes an official car mount that is pretty decent.

It appears Best Buy has the Nexus S dock on sale right now for $19.99 instead of the normal $39.99. I picked one up for my Nexus S last night. Be sure to check out your local store if you are in the market

I bought one. It will be handy St work. Decent price I think at $20?

Yikes, just read the reviews on Best Buy's website. Seems that this is not a multimedia dock, but just a piece of plastic that holds your phone while it charges. No speakers or audio input on the dock, nothing multimedia about it.
Then don't buy it

It clearly states in the description that it is designed for you to use the speakerphone and media player while charging the phone. Think of it like a kickstands that charges your phone.

The Nexus S Dock is a bad joke. No comparison to the great Nexus One Dock. I don't want to have to fit in the usb slot every time I put the Nexus into the Dock. With the Nexus you just put the phone on the Dock without fiddling around. I think every Nexus phone should have such charging contacts like the Nexus one did...

Its working perfectly for what I need it for at work. Headphones, charging, and standing. Just wish stock had landscape homescreen like CyanogenMod

I picked one up. If nothing else, it's a cheap OEM charger. They also had an open box Samsung Nexus S car dock for $22.99.
Both work great, especially the car dock. It's nice to have something made for the Nexus S, even though the dock isn't powered (you have to manually plug in the cord). Not a big deal as I've been doing it all along anyway when I get in the car.
yeah this dock is kind of a joke compared to the nexus one dock. i hope the nexus prime or whatever they call it has inductive charging or at least charging contacts like the n1 did.
Does anyone have any information about a wireless charging option? I mean the s3 was supposed to have it but until now nothing and I fear for the note

Not yet aviable an im sure it will never arrive
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Can you elaborate please? I mean the only reason I'm asking is for instance the S3 has been announced with it, so I guess the NoTe2 has the aptitude. plus as you can see on the picture there are two vacant connector pins which are quiet similar to the Nfc ones. It should be their purpose no?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
We know the S3 was announced with it, but it still isn't available in most of the world. Samsung is being very slow about it, and seeing how the S3 does not have a proper one yet, the Note 2 probably won't see one anytime this century.
I found this on eBay.

That's a Palm Pre Touchstone unit, which you can buy for about a fifth of that.
S3 thread on the subject of wireless charging. Did it to my S3, worked fine, just made the standard back bulge a bit with the induction unit was all.

You don't need to "own" paypal... Just sign up for an account. Anyone can do that.

Was that post above confirmation about wireless charging built into the note 2? Strongly considering one if it had the same charging posts as the s3

Yes the note2 has wireless charging.
You just need the unit.
Since the Note 2 uses a higher mA rate, will the currently available wireless chargers be effective? It worked on the GS3 due to a lower charging rate I assume. I saw posts where people stated they used 1A chargers from prior devices and it hardly charged their Note
2 at all.
Edit - I just realized a few minutes ago, you can use the 2A wall plug from your Note 2 right? Lol

I wish there was a way to order those Qi coils! I live in the UK and there is nowhere I can find it in Europe :=(

If the touchstone wireless charger charges at 1amp with its original palm charger, will it charge at 2amp if I connect the galaxy note ii charger to it?
Also wondering if I applied the palm coil to my note ii, will I be able to charge it wirelessly with the 2amp hp touchpad touchstone dock charger?
Mmmmm
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
The touchstone will charge the note 2 from 0 to 100% in about 6 hours. Most likely a different adapter connected to the touchstone won't make any significant difference

Seems the wait is almost over
So does this confirm then that the panel on the back of the Note II is ONLY the NFC antenna not a combined NFC and induction charging panel, as some people are claiming?
I did wonder what the other two connectors were all about, now it seems clear THEY are where the induction coil will attach if you have the official kit.
I know they are slightly diff dimensions but has anyone tried the note 2 in the original note auto dock?...
Doesnt work if your car dock is plastic casted like brodit
Mine falls out...
Just meant the official Samsung dock.... looks like the usb port are in similar positions... and the Note 1 is slightly wider so that part should be fine.. and the height is slightly adjustable.. so I'm hoping it will.. bloody expensive car docks! I just paid $60 for the one I have a few months ago
It does not work. Note 2 is taller than expected. Got the new car dock
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
It does work. You have to insert it very carefully from the bottom 1st. Its not an exact fit, but a temporary fix.

Just a quick question.. will galaxy s3's mhl to hdmi cable work on our note2?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
My experience last week.
Bought one
Try it at home
returned it within the hour
Odp: MHL
Bought one of eBay and works perfectly well.
Yes, it works and works well.. Buy it from Samsung with a 50% off coupon and you get it for around $25 with shipping. I bought one from eBay ($10) and it was not from Samsung, even though it said it was and it did not work.
As I am discovering, though, take note of the copy protection the S3 employs. Connecting it to a recent, big-name TV? Probably fine. No-name, older, analog, or some foreign displays refuse to connect.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for the response. As mhl to hdmi for note 2 cost a lot dearer here compared to the one for the s3... I was just thinkinv if theres any difference as Ive read confirmation that the two devices uses the same adapter
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
The only thing I know that is important in regards to the MHL adapter is that is must be a 11-pin and most on the market is a 5-pin which is why a lot of the adapters dont work
The connectors section of this Wiki Page says that older tvs will also require it to be powered.

I've just bought S3/Note 2 Samsung MHL adapter and it doesn't work without external power source when connected to the LCD monitor (the monitor is 4 years old). But maybe it's different story with new TVs or monitors.

yes.. that is exactly the ONLY different between MHL for S2 and S3/Note2
S2 uses 5-pin micro USB
S3/Note2 uses 11-pin micro USB
I bought OEM S2 MHL adapter.. and it comes with 11-pin converter. no prob at all.
I bought two at ebay from two diff sellers. Around $10 shipped from Hong Kong. Have been using them for over three months. Working fine and the material quality is not bad.
it works.
Sgs3 and note 2 has the same Microusb port.
I tried both in Samsung Galaxy Smart dock and it works flawlessly.
I hear u cannot conect both mhl and usb otg cables to smart dock with both working at the same time. Is that right? I wanna know this cause i want to use a rf (USB)wireless keyboard while having the phone mhl'd to my tv(used as a pc). Don't want to use BT keyboard. Any news on that?

I'm looking to find a car mount that can charge qi and hold the phone with magnets, I found one that sits in the CD tray but it doesn't have wireless charging. Wonder if I could use that nexus charger and somehow stick it to my dash. Here is the one without the charger

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
People have had varying levels of success with the air dock, which sticks via a sticky foam. So if you absolutely want magnets, then that won't work but otherwise it might. I ordered the air dock to see if it works, and I also have a d brand skin on the way if the naked back doesn't work, hopefully the carbon skin will stick.

Check in with these guys.

I have the original and it sort of works without a case. But doesn't hold well. I have my hopes for the 2.0 version. Version 1.0 was awesome with my Nexus 5.
I'm using this and while it works getting the Nexus 6 into it is a little more work than just slapping my phone on the airdock.

The Air Dock has both the sticky "foam" and magnets. Always has. Version 2 is coming out & has a built-in NEFC chip as well. Well made product that does what is designed to do.
