Draining Battery on JB ROMS - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I noticed on the JB ROMS that my battery drains extremely quickly even after calibrating it and running battery cycles. Can anybody point out to me what I did wrong?
This is how I flashed the ROM
1: Booted into recovery, wiped cache, dalvik, data then flashed ROM and GAPPS after the ROM
2: Flashed boot img from fastboot and rebooted

You flashed an alpha build expecting good battery life...

The problem is likely related to the fact that things don't work yet...like camera and what not. The phone tries to load them but can't...creating a drain

[Q] OFFICIAL STOCK ICS PROBLEMS for note!??

Maybe its just me!!! but I find that after updating to ICS 4.0.3 on note the ram usage is always quite high, as always around 600-700. does anyone else have this problem ?
Another problem i find is the lag in the camera? like when you take a picture and then scroll through picture you've taken, after press the back key and it lags for a while before returning to home screen..
PLease say it isnt just me
p.s Ive got the TGY(hong kong) version of ICS officially from kies!!
+1 i oso got problem is the ram...it is very high...higher than gingerbread...any suggestion??
Suggestion:
go to a cm9 build ROM with a "safe" kernel as well.

Just a word of warning....a factory reset or any kind of wipe could hard brick your device on official samsung roms.
Don't wipe!! It could trigger the eMMC bug and possibly brick your phone if you try to flash anything. The best advice is to flash a safe gb rom using pc odin and wait until a solution comes out.

I presume that your screen was off during much of this time? I am using the LPY build and use my note for prolonged book reading. With the screen on auto brightness I am lucky to get 6.5 hours with all other data services running.

I thought brick problems was caused by cwm wipes, i dont think.the emmc problem is being experienced by those of us using stock.only? ?? I have looked at quite a few threads and it appears to me only people who root get the issue may be wrong but i peesoannly think.stock only should be safe

I am having the same problem....no solutions yet. Like others have mentioned, DON'T WIPE!! ask me how I know? lol
I deleted ICS Browser. That helped quite a bit.

I think likewise, there is one case of bricking using the wipe in stock recovery (XXLPY if I didn't remember wrongly), but the person has rooted his phone using Dr Ketan method (temp cwm + su-busybox installer), so is still not a pure official stock rom imo.
I just finally upgraded to official ICS and using LP9...
So far everything is buttery smooth.
Just a question.. Is doing a factory reset (under Backup & Reset) the same as wiping thru the Recovery Mode?

Beg to differ.. On official ics upon factory reset its unlikely that one would hard brick the phone...

it seems that it is a bug..
so there is no other way than reflashing or full wiping...
maybe you can check your equipment..like cable or the charger
and also u can use battery desktop to charge you battery
or
try to flash the kernel and the ROM again
i think this is a software bug ? or any one facing this bug previously and found a way to solve this problem i checked my cables and also tried with two other chargers but no luck charging only after reboot

i want to install prime hd 9 on alfs kernel can any one pint me what should i download and flash coz the alfs kernel thread is total mess i dont know which kernel and which add on to flash if someone can guide me it would be helpful

Your first question no one can answer yet. Time will tell.
Yes you can flash the wifi version on the 3g tab.it will work without 3g functionality.
Make sure you completely charge your battery (with tab switched off) before flashing to minimize problems!
also do a complete wipe (factory reset) before flashing!
you don't have much to lose just try it!

yes im agree with you.. if the problem still persist .. make the battery drain in recovery mode, then charge in standby mode until ROM says 100%..
wait until 2-3 cycle and see the behaviour..

Then flash the Rom again.
P.S: Make sure you check the md5 checksum of the Rom.

When I had same issue on project x I think I downloaded project x 4.1 (initial release)... I was S-on then ..Flashed it with full wipe. Problem solved.
WiFi error for me was... I flashed some random mod - don't even remember.

I had the same issue when I was S-ON.
1. Try to perform S-OFF to not to have such this problem.
2. If you want to stay on S-on then as the other friends said, Format all the partitions except SD and then install the Rom again with full wipe.
3. If you are using Nik Project X v4.1 And you are S-OFF then you might install Redux 0.8 kernel which has tethering and overclock.
4. If you are S-on you shouldn't change the kernel and you have to stay with HTC stock kernel.:good:

[Q] AOIP 8/3, 8/10, and now 6/3 reboots during app uninstall and data toggle

Hi all,
I've been using AOIP on my Exhibit since June... and have loved it, but I've recently had some reboot/crash problems.
Upon uninstalling an app or toggling cellular data off (and only off... turning it on has no effect and if the wifi turns data off I still see the same effect), the phone crashes and reboots immediately. There may be a couple more causes, but I haven't pin pointed them.
This had first occurred when I installed the 8/3 release without a full wipe. I performed a full wipe, flashed 8/3, and still experienced heavy crashing. I reverted to the 6/3 release and didn't have problems. I tried the same sequence with the same results with the 8/10 release a couple of weeks ago. I've again reverted to 6/3 without problems...
Then this morning, I noticed that my wallpaper had been reset over night (suggesting a crash) and now the phone crashes under the same scenarios mentioned above.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated - I've enjoyed the ROM and hope this has been addressed with other folks and has yielded a simple solution...although I haven't seen this problem in any forums.

First, only wipe cache partition + flash the new ROM. Then, once I saw some crashing, wipe data/factor reset + wipe cache partition + flash new ROM.
I had a wallpaper reset, too. I didn't know what it might mean. Why would that indicate a crash?

I'm running the ocuvhm kernel and it works flawless stopped most of my problems.
If you've been here long enough you'll know that some of our phones work well with OC kernels and since don't. As suggested, I recommend flashing the stock kernel (white screen) and see if that solves your problem. If it does good, if not try a different thing. Make a nandroid first.

Then try another rom and see if it does the same thing. If not, I say backup your external SD card to your computer then wipe everything including your SD card and start fresh and see if that helps.

I've flashed camory's CM10 for the phone, and things seem to be running smoothly, although the new Maps (7.0) freezes up things.
I supposed I'll stick with this ROM and try out AOIP again if another version is released. Thanks for the help - try to keep me posted if this problem turns out to be repeatable and addressable...
