Google Music Canada - Nexus 4 General

I folks from Canada. If you feel like you're Nexus 4 don't have enough storage like me. (I have a 8G for now.)
I know a way to enable Google Music in our country. Google Music will give you the opportunity to put your music in the cloud, so when you will be somewhere with Wifi you will be able to enjoy your music.
This how it works :
Install tunelbear
( http://www.tunnelbear.com/)
This will make you virtually a citizen of United States where Google Music is available.
Then go to the Web site of Google Music
( music.google.com)
Downlaud the music manager
Install it
After unistall the music app from your phone an reinstall it.
You're ready to go.

Might wanna add that you do not have to keep tunnel bear active after the first use. It is only for authentication.

Thanks, and this work for other country no oficially suported by google...

I did this a while ago with Tor browser. I've had Google Music for a while. Barely saves space unless you're always connected to wifi or you have unlimited data.
Here's the link i followed: http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/19/how-to-use-google-music-from-anywhere-yes-outside-of-the-unit/

Music beta

Has anyone got the music beta working on their hd2? I can access it just fine from my computer and my xoom but not from my phone. Is there something I'm missing?

music sync from phone
hi Same here
i've just received acceptation for music beta invitation, and I've been able to upload music from my laptop to my google music account.
I can now listen to music through my google account via web browser (laptop and phone)
The only probleme is that I can't manage to get access to this cloud from the music app (the new one) on my HD2.
note : There's no option in my google account manager for google music (like picasa, mail or contacts)
note 2 : would that trouble come from the fact that I'm in france ?
I haven't tried to access through the browser, will give that a shot now. I'm guessing that we will have app access after the beta. I hope anyways

I uninstalled the music app from my hd2 then installed app from music beta website(directed me to google web app site). Music app on phone then worked. Hit menu settings to access music on computer. Hope this helps.
I have it on my HD2 it took like 36 hrs after being invited for the app on my phone to actually connect with the cloud servers, now works great!!
Heed Beergenius
Try what beergenius suggested. I installed the Music Beta app to my phone prior to getting the invitation. Once I received the invitation and uploaded all my music I was still unable to access it from phone. I looked under my account sync and there was no music option. Uninstalled Music app and reinstalled. All my music instantly appeared and when looking under account sync, music checkbox was now available.

Spotify?

Anyone nab a Spotify? It's an awesome music streaming service. Also, maybe this could be a little G+ - Spotify trade off thread. Like someone has a G+ and not a Spotify and someone has a Spotify but not a G+. Also, if anyone could confirm the Spotify Android app working on the Nook (I can't test, my Nook is not with me).
There is an easy workaround at Gizmodo on how to get around the lack of an invite. You basically use a proxy to fool the UK spotify site into signing you up for.a free account and then you switch back to US and edit your profile. All the steps are easy to follow.
BTW, spotify itself invites new users, not the new users themselves (Ala Google+)
I took a look at Spotify earlier today. Maybe I'm missing it, but what's everyone so excited about? It looks like Pandora/Slacker mixed with a dash of Google Music for good measure.
The G+ streams are all atwitter about Spotify tonight.
$10/mo for mobile app use makes it DOA for me.
I'd do the free service or maybe the $5/mo if it had mobile app support, but I'm not even going to bother for $10/mo.
The main "advantage" of spotify seems to be the ability to offload the music for when you don't have wifi and the ability to stream your own music from your PC. Since the NC doesn't have 3G, the mobile app isn't really all that limited with the free service except when you are somebody else's wifi.
I haven't messed with it too much but I wonder if you set up a VPN back to your home network whether you can stream that way.
I do like the way you can make playlists for streaming.
Been using spotify since it was released in sweden 3-4 years ago. It's awesome in every way. Completely replaces any kind of illegal and legal way of getting music. If only a similar service of the same quality would come for movies and series...

Right. The only problem is that I have a Free account and no upgrading for me..

Google Music go get it!

OK so Google Music Beta is out and a lot of people are getting burned by fake invite offers.
1. Go to music.google.com and login using your Google account and ask for an invite.
2. Wait..... took me about 5-6 hours to recieve an invite from Google.
3. Be sure to pick some genres you like and select "add free music" Google actually gives you some very decent music to listen to for free.
4. Download the music manager to your laptop or desktop and install.
5. Choose which folder you want Google Music to sync with. This was My Music on my laptop may be different for you. Also I set it up to automatically sync anytime I add new music to the folder.
6. Be patient as your music is synced with your Google Music account. This can take a long time depending on amount of music and upload speeds.
7 If you have a large collection you may want to copy a portion of your music to another folder so it doesnt take hours to sync and slowly move your whole collection in chuncks rather than one huge sync.
8. Go to market and download Music by Google. Music should automaticlly log in on your phone and you will see your music collection ready listen.
If you are still syncing then certain music wont be there but, if you selected the free music, check out some bands you havent heard before.
Google Music is a great way to have a huge collection of music with you wherever you go without taking up space on your phone or lugging usb drives, ipods or whatever around. Your music can be accessed from any android device or desktop/laptop that has internet service. Not only that you can make tracks available offline! If you know you are going somewhere with no data.... make some songs offline. They will be able to be played whether you have a connection or not. How cool is that?
So far the only problem I have found is when on shuffle some songs dont skip to next track which isnt a big deal for me and im sure will be fixed in an update.
I recommend everyone go ask Google for an invite soon before they stop handing them out and before the service goes paid. You never know, they might just let us beta testers use it for free indefinitely.
DO NOT ASK ANYONE BUT GOOGLE FOR AN INVITE ANYONE SAYING THEY HAVE INVITES TO HAND OUT IS PHISHING FOR EMAILS TO SPAM.

Also just an FYI for when you Put the client on your PC or Laptop. If you let it stay running 24/7 when it goes to sync it will Slow your internet down like you are Downloading a Torrent. Which for me is unacceptable considering I have Cable Internet and no way should that slow me down that bad but either way just thought I would let yall know that in advance.
Being nice, I have 8 invites left. If anyone is interested, I will send a few. PM me your email address.
I went to site to Google site u posted at it works thanx

Anyone having issues with this running on the Thrill?? It never works. Everything works up to the streamimg part then it just continues to swirl forevr then it says it failed. Any ideas??
I already tried deleting the devices from the website. Didnt work. Works just fine on my Atrix though.
It works great on my Thrill. It worked great on the Thrill I had before this one. ON the last Thrill, I had to occassionally make sure sync was on but no problems other than that and that was only twice when I had to reclick the sync button.
I'm really enjoying google music as it's cleared a ton of space and I don't have to worry about my sd card being corrupted and losing music.
For me it's always worked quickly and with very few hesitations.
Just got my invite... took three days... lol gonna try it now...

I love having lots of music on the go!
Right and its nice to not have to rely or use your own data connection at home to stream the music like orb or vlc.

Tutorial : use Google Music outside U.S.(store 20.000 songs for free)

With the new google music service you can store 20.000 songs for free in the cloud (U.S. only)
How to use it outside the U.S. ?
Follow this tutorial (in german, you can use google translate ; main thing is to use a U.S proxy server to register)

I never sync my phone to my pc
I use google music to store my music in the cloud and playback on my device
I don't really play games but here are a few of my favorite apps
Noom Walk
Hangouts
Netflix
Chrome
Titanium Backup
ES File Explorer
TeamViewer
Tesla LED
Auto Brightness
DoggCatcher
google Keep
3D Image Live Wallpaper
Chrome to Phone
Fast Burst Camera
Parcels
Runkeeper
Everything you had on your iPhone try to put on this phone. I use the regular Google music app. Not quite sure what you want to do with notifications you can't really edit them like iOS. Also what do you want to sync because Google music syncs wirelessly if you set it up right. Google keep (notes) syncs wirelessly. Photos you can sync wirelessly with Google+

Thank you keep it coming.
Ive never used google music. I want to sync to my computer to get my music from itunes. Also does using google music suck up data?

You can use Google's music manager to upload (for free) up to 20000 songs to Google's cloud from iTunes. Google music on your phone will sync with that, and it will use data unless you decide to make your music available locally. You can decide which music to store locally, then download it while on Wi-Fi. So the music you listen to most won't use data, but for songs you only listen to occasionally, they won't take up space on your device.
