Update: FauxDisplay (and the spreadsheet) have been updated with new names for the gray scales and gradients. Also, the gradient columns come before the the gray scale columns now so don't get mixed up when inputting values! And when submitting values please go ahead and start putting the gradients first so it's easier to read
Hi everyone! I've read that many people have said that they are experiencing a yellow / blue tint on their screens when viewing at certain angles and are attempting to tweak their color settings to improve it. Or you could just be trying to make your screen look sexier in general, what do I know?
Now back in the Galaxy Nexus forums we had a publicly accessible spreadsheet just for different color settings and I thought that we could do the same here. As more kernels come out we will most likely be seeing different color variations with each one so here is where everyone can share their own personal color settings for all to try! :good:
Also, if you see the bolded line (besides the ones from the devs), those are the settings that I personally use and recommend
Now the spreadsheet is split up into 3 sheets. Sheet 1 is Gamma, Sheet 2 is Gradient / Gray, and Sheet 3 is Basic. A quick explanation:
Gamma - Franco's introduced gamma settings
Gradient / Gray - Faux's introduced settings (gradients and gray scales)
Basic - basic RGB values along w/ amp 0 and amp 1
This will keep the spreadsheet looking more organized instead of having everything crammed into one sheet, enjoy!
I'm looking forward to seeing (and trying!) all the different display configurations from everybody! :highfive:
So everyone please feel free to share your colors here :cyclops:

I've just read about people trying to fix their tint issues and it's alleviating it for some. But like I said, it's not just about fixing issues really. Everyone has different color preferences in general too.
Added couple values.
Of course we have childish people messing up the spreadsheet (again) so I will be making backups often, thanks for everyone who have input values.
Added some values as well.
I think you really have to experiment for your self as every screen will be different. I used an app called Display Tester for patterns. The best i could get the blue was 1.6 for gamma. I set red and green to 1.8 which put rest around the 2.2 goal. I'm still playing with color levels though.

I noticed a lot of people adding to the list are not reading and mixing up the columns under Gamma Blue and Gamma Green (as fauxclock is Gamma Green -> Gamma Blue)
I'm tempted to fix it. There's no way Gamma Green can be 31 and Gamma Blue <10 without it looking like a hot mess.

Oh wow I mixed up the order on that one, huh? Thanks for catching that, I will fix it now. I've switched the columns now but I'm not sure if people really got confused or not. I set my B up to 31 and G to 9 and it wasn't a mess on my screen. Just a slight green tint, hm....
Attention: Everyone make sure your values are in the right order as I mixed up the gamma order and did RBG instead of RGB. I have corrected it now, sorry for the mix up.
You're going to have to restore the spreadsheet. Some fool from University of Newcastle messed with it (?). I guess that's what happens when it's public...

Everything looks in order to me, what exactly happened? And I try to do frequent back ups so restoring it shouldn't be a problem most of the time. But if it does get to the point where it's so bad with people coming in and messing with it I will create one just for viewing and then open a separate for public add ons. That way I can add it to the viewable as I please. Or people can just post their settings here and I will add it. We had the same problem in the Galaxy Nexus forums
You can add an application form and read-only the spreadsheet. :good:

Hi guys,
I know that the "screen filter" app exists,
but would anyone be willing to code an app that
basically inverts ALL colors (or white to a dark grey) on screen ?
I don't know if it's supported at all by the android APIs but perhaps someone has an idea how to do it
this would save HUGE AMOUNTS of energy when reading
e.g. PDF files with only text in them
or browsing on lots of sites with also only have a white background and (little) dark text
this is especially applicable to those devices using AMOLED displays such as the Samsung Galaxy S (I own one)
If you'd be willing to code it for the community - that would be great
if you'd need some donation - that will be OK, too
I'm sure others would join, too, since that app really would help to get a much longer battery runtime in those usage cases
Many thanks in advance
I'm not sure
but I think I found what I was looking for:
IDEAL Magnifier
nope - only for camera-input
it's getting close
anyone knows of an app that can invert the screen's content ?
otherwise it should be still correctly place in "development" subforum

edit2:
getting the browser from cyanogenmod into ROMs also would be quite helpful

*bump*
seriously - no one has interest in this kind of app ?
*bump*
I'm very interested in this thread. If only someone could shed some light on the topic. Also, would it be possible to port cyanogenmod browser to other roms?
*bump*
10 letters
@boarder.2k9, ickyboo:
I think the problem is - that this is quite a very interesting topic (much potential)
and perhaps devs also might be willing to do it
but they are hesitant because it's some more work than the usual "hey - this music app doesn't include these features - let's code a new one"
a bounty (called "donation" in the post above) might make it (especially the whole-screen invert app) much more attractive to code I believe
if that's possible from Android's side, that is
it might be the case that it'll only work with CyanogenMod due to some pretty deep changes to the system
I'm not really coding much - I'm more the kind of linux-distro kernel patchset guy so I have no clear idea what requirements might be needed for this "stunt"

Yah, some1 should sort this out....

Bump! As I just posted on the thread in the general Android forum, :
I very much want this, too! Not only would it be great for night time viewing and amoled power savings, but it would also provide some wear leveling/un-burn-in effects for the notification bar, keyboards, etc.! Say you use the inverted mode 50% of the time, it would completely counter burn-in from the other 50%.
Please, someone, do it and I'll pay handsomely. I'll pitch in $20 to a bounty, anyways.
It should be almost as easy as CyanogenMod's render effects or Chainfire 3D's night mode. If they can take each pixel's intended color, calculate that minus green and blue, and output the result, they should be able to take the color, calculate the inverse, and output that, instead. I'm not a programmer, though, so I may be off base.
I don't have a Galaxy S I9000, but I'm also looking for this. I don't know if Quick Invert is compatible with this device (it isn't with My Nexus S), but the developer shares some ideas for a more universal implementation here.

Nothing recent to research for our N3 so I wanted to hear from the peeps that are controlling their Notification LED using apps such as "Light Flow", etc.
I downloaded Light Flow Lite and do not want to buy their paid version until I listened to the opinion of my peers who own the same device.
Anyone out there using apps to control their LED, and which apps do you like/hate?
Wow, do you guys know how many colors our LEDs are capable of making?
Android is famous for its adjustability, and yet no one wants to take control of their notification LED?
Makes no sense to me, I don't get it.

That certainly makes sense to me bro, but in the past, similar threads were move back here because I was "asking a question".
Regardless, over 100 views and no one else has any motivation to control color of notifications, why not?
So far, just with the 1st free app I have tried, it's light years better than just the plain blue for everything..
sms flashes green
e-mail flashes cyan
missed call orange
calander reminder purple
low battery red
incoming call blue
So if we move this thread, will I get 200 views not interested, (instead of only 100 - lol)
I could care less about my led color because I have a galaxy gear. But if I didn't, I'd be checkin out some led apps!
I posted in here recommending to move your thread because I did see you had views and no comments. I couldn't leave ya hanging. Maybe wait a few days and let your post marinate here. Then ask to move it so it can get a couple hundred more views without comments in that section too! Lol
The only thing I would care about is being able to set different colors for different contacts.
On my GPro I had red for my (ex) girl, yellow for my mom, green for my closest friend, etc.

Roloracer on XNote 7 Note3
For the next version (probably named 2.6), @GermainZ has made big contributions for a refreshed, more holofied design. I think this would be the right time to introduce a new logo as well. If you want to contribute, but can't code, this is your chance.
Some trivia about the current/old logo:
I quickly put it together when I first published the installer two years ago.
The "X" obviously stands for Xposed.
It's hardly visible in the resized icons, but the blood drops below the X actually read "posed".
The "deeper meaning" of the logo was to illustrate how Xposed hits right into the heart of Android, exposing functionality that wouldn't be possible otherwise.
I'm not involved in the Heartbleed bug, even tough it has been introduced around the same time.
Anyway, after two years, I think it could use a refresh. I have attached a draft, mainly based on work by @natezire71. It combines two ideas that I like a lot: "X" for Xposed, and a puzzle piece as a symbol for the modularity. As it will still take some more time until the next release, I thought I'd open this thread for improvements and new ideas.
Some guidelines:
The logo should reflect what Xposed is about. I like the puzzle idea, but there may be other good symbols.
Yet, it should be a rather simple shape to make it usable even for small icon sizes.
It should look nice on light and dark backgrounds.
The original image size should be 864x864 according to http://developer.android.com/design/style/iconography.html (I made the mistake to apply colors only to the resized copy, therefore the smaller attachment)
If possible, please use a file format like PSD with multiple layers for the individual elements and ideally vector graphics, that makes it much easier to edit/rearrange parts later (my example isn't good again, I had to get rid of layers to line up the X with the outline).
I'll see how the reactions are, then I'll decide if I like a single logo so much that I will use it, or put up a poll for you to choose one. Feel free to post just a sketch of your ideas to test how I like it (before putting much effort in finalizing it).

I agree, I like the clean style. @DD-Ripper, did you plan that that the icon should have a opaque background, possibly with slightly rounded corners, or would the background be transparent? Transparent would probably create clearer outlines, but requires outlines in the icon itself (e.g. your latest suggestion would not work on a white background).
Could you post a preview with just the icon, resized to 48x48 px (used for medium resolution), so we get a better impression what it would look like on a phone with less details?

Bought the US version and Like the phone but I see only two color settings. The srgb mode is too dark and dull and would be better if I got to add some more saturation to it. The colorful mode is too colorful and the reds are too extreme. Are these really the only two options we get?

Yep. Unfortunately they completely stripped the Chinese ROM in bring it to the worldwide community in favor of a mostly vanilla android. They also stripped out gesture navigation which was in the Chinese ROM and is actually baked into Android Pie! SMH.

Sad I guess I played myself. Even the honor 6X I have now came better calibrated than these 2 extremes and the display on the 6x is inferior. Is it really that difficult adding a saturation slider or color temp controls? I can tell the panel on this thing is pretty good but having the colors blast my face on colorful mode and everything looking dead on SRGB is BAD with no in between. I guess I should have been more patient but now I'm definitely going to look at the phones in store prior to buying. And I suppose software support isn't a meme either but lesson learned I'll do my homework next time. I don't bank on maybes when it comes to expecting more features added or potential roms looking at the red magic mars because that would fix a lot. Thanks for the reply.
