Thanks to Ticklefish for redirecting me to the Tickle my android thread. After a long struggle with my PC and the tool finally I was able to do a modification that works ando doesn't leave the stock battery percentage.
This is my first work, What I present here are 4 mods taken from TMA and compiled by me for the Xperia T

Minimal Circle (This time I've increased the size of the battery circle because the default size was too small for me, See Screenshots to spot the difference)
Bue Circle White Text
To Install Just flash it via CWM
Always make a backup of your ROM so in case of any errors, you have a point to go back. I'm not responsible of any damage you do to your device.
FOR JELLYBEAN MODS
It is recommended that you flash recoba23's small buttons and gregbradley's version of peetr_'s lidroid mod before flashing any of JB Mods, this mod will not reset your navigation buttons to big size, so no worries
.
Always it's recommended to wipe cache and dalvik before flashing
PS: Stencil battery does have a charging icon but it doesn't show up and i don't know why, nontheless it works perfectly.
Mnimal Circle DOES NOT have a charging icon/animation.

I'm sure it'll have an icon you'll like.

If you just can't get it to work, I'm happy to do the mod for you. But try to get it to work first!

I've installed the JRE, SE development kit, Java FX, Java FX SDK, unistalled and reinstalled the JRE and other commponents and nothing still says the same, sorry to bother you.
I'd be grateful if you could do the mod for me, if that's the case, from the designs in tickle my android i like the 'circles by hoolmn' and the 'StencilBattery' byitiskonrad. If you could do one of those or both :victory:That would be it.
Sorry again if I bothered you

Ok, Not sure what it could be, Thats the step that most people fall down on.
Anyway. At the weekend I will have a play with ticklefish's tool as I want to mod my battery anyway so I might throw a few more together. The problem with doing requests this way is because it needs the systemUI.apk I can post that but it will change any other mods people have (Eg my toggles or small apps that need some sytemUI tweaks) so the only way to do it is to take uploads from people.
Thats what UOT kitchen does, so it may just have to be stock systemUI i mod then you will have to add other mods back manually

That's what Tickle My Android does as well, although it has different icons available and can do more as well.
It is possible to create an update.zip that just changes the battery icons and associated animations. The problem with that is that it's very rom-specific. Battery icons can be stored in two different apk's and in several different folders. To make a truly universal update.zip, you'd end up making one that's far too big.
But it is feasible if you're just doing it for one particular rom.

I'm also gonna look into Tickle my Android. I've been trying to integrate the circular battery with the 14 toggle status bar mod. I'm partly there but as I'm new to this there's still a lot of kinks to work out. Replacing some images is only half the story...
Good to see there's some cool tools to help out.
Wow, Nice to see some other people around trying to help. If any of you need my apks or something just say it and I'll upload what you need.
Vaizen said:
Hi Guys i'd really like to have the circular battery mod on my XT, i'm actually using ROM Xperiment by TiMiN8R, I've seen the other post where there are a lot of mod for satus bar and battery, but the problem is that when i flash for exapmle this mod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28751334&postcount=70
It works but it makes my small apps on mutlitasking disappear.
So I'm looking for a working mod for the xpeia T on .195. Well it can be just the battery circle or the status bar with toggles and battery mod.
PS: Isn't there a mod with the 2g - 3g toggle and working battery mod (the circular one) LOL
Thanks a lot in advance, if the post already exists please redirect me.

If you can't get TMA to work, then just upload your SemcGenericUxpRes.apk, framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk to the Tickle My Android thread (do it there instead of here, that way I look busy!), let me know which icon you want and I can do it for you.

Update 1/10 Minor update to some, maybe major to others, I've made some changes to the status bar pull down for Ascend users, I've changed the main text to be black, I'm still not completely happy with it, so i'll keep tweaking... Also, I've added support for HDPI devices in the Gingerbread3.5.zip, in general the theme should work on a wider variety of devices.

Update 1/9 The theme is pretty much complete
In order for Ascend users to get the white clock you need to download buildprop and replace the one under your system folder with it. You'll have to be rooted and use a file manager or you could use adb shell or a terminal to replace your build.prop
Another change to the build.prop for the popups!!!
Special thanks to yuyuye for the information.
I've attached some screenshots of the theme in action. There are many more changes not visible in the screenshots, the majority of the framework-res have been updated to match the new theme.
UPDATE 12/16
I've attached the metamorph theme in case anyone wants to try it, i would say it's beta quality as it's not finished, but it's usable. Just load the v0.1.zip file on to your sdcard, download metamorph and install away. If you have any basic questions, feel free to ask but I won't be providing an major support yet because it's not finished. I would say it's 75% complete at the most. And as always, you shouldn't have any problems but USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
UPDATE 12/22
New version v0.3 with a change to the submenu, I changed the submenu to white so the text is legible until i can get the Ascend deodexed and properly change the color of the text...
The download labeled GingerbreadAscend3.zip is may specifically for the Ascend I don't recommend anyone apply it on any other phones
The download labeled Gingerbread3.zip is for any and all MDPI phones
Have fun!!!

Insrtuctions for installation:This is a Metamorph theme, so download and install Metamorph. Put the theme on your sdcard. Make sure your phone is rooted, you have busbox downloaded and installed and that usb debugging is turned on
For Ascend users, download your appropriate build.prop file and use a program like root explorer or subfs to copy and paste it into the /system/ directory, if you don't want to purchase one of those programs, download this program from the market "Mount /system (rw / ro)" open it and mount the system as r/w then use adb shell or a terminal emulator to copy the file over
Code:
su
cp /sdcard/build.prop /system/build.prop

I am no longer supporting this theme, I'm moving on to bigger and better. Happy themeing!!!!
Made a little progress using apk manager to decompile some of the xmls, got the date to show up white but still not the time and popup option menus(not sure what to call them). If anyone has any expertise, I could use the help....
Keep up the good work, I am looking fws to checking it out!
If you send me your framework-res.apk I can fix the code for the pop-up menu text.

Thanks, but problem is I don't have a "values" folder in my framework, much less an xml called "style" in any of the folders...
wait..
I'm an idiot... found it
It wasn't re-compiling the whole framework for me either, i had to to trick it to get it to re-compile the styles.xml by putting it in a different folder and renaming it... Flashed it to my phone.... and... no difference, pulled the framework back down and made sure the changes where present and they are... the Ascend doesn't seem to use those files at all... I'm pretty sure too because i accidentally deleted all the files in the values folder except the styles.xml and the phone works fine...
Thanks for your ideas Benny879, if you have any insight as to whats going on, I'd appreciate any help you could give, in the mean time i'm going to be pouring through these xml files, looking for any clues...
For anyone following the progress on this, the problem seems to be that this phone uses odex files instead of the more easily assessable jar or apks, so I'm looking into deodexing the necessary files... If anyone could offer assistance, I would appreciate it...

The gingerbread metamorph theme I'm working on will change your lock screen sliders, your notification bar and slide down, your dialog confirmation buttons, market place tab button and a bunch of other misc graphics, your signal bars, battery, bluetooth, etc... The theme i'm working on doesn't touch the launcher. i personally use launcher pro, so this theme doesn't conflict with it, but if you want your launcher specifically to look like gingerbread's, you can find themes already made for launcher pro..

No, because there is no htc logo, it can be added by Venom Tweaks, which are not compatible with other roms.

How it works if you want to edit the background
Basically this mods the framework files (system-ui.apk) inside the system-ui.apk theres a file known as "statusbar_background9.png" with this file you can edit in photoshop or any editing software and put what you want like htc logo. Meaning you can just pull the system-ui.apk from your phone, extract it, edit statusbar background, repack, push the apk back; however this method using vrtheme is easier due to it doing all these steps but you just put the image in the vrtheme folders.

I will see what I can do to this app. I use virtuous ten studio on windows since it's quite easy to decompile and compile apps it should work like a treat. If I can edit the note.png then I'll post it on here. Since it's easier to use and apps don't go over it
Umph. Application not installed. Pushing it didn't work either. However the size of the image is quite small on the app (36x36) so it's better to use my method anyway.

Hey guys, I really like the holo theme of ICS/JB, but really hate that Google has not yet themed the orange GB parts of the framework... it's certainly an eyesore, even with some apps that use holo theme, there's some orange GB parts remaining.
This theme, changes the colour of remaining GB parts to blue holo style. I've tried to achieve the holo style as far as I could. :fingers-crossed:

WORKS ON ALL ICS AND JB ROMS!
Currently I'm using it on CM10, and I've tried it on AdamG's Jellybelly (before it was discontinued *sniff*), stock JB odexed ROM, stock JB deodexed ROM, and CM9. It worked perfectly on all of them but as a user have reported, it does *NOT* work on Brainmaster's stock JB ROM because he use XHDPI png's.

here is HDPI folder all .9 files are drawn out use as reference shouldn't have any issues compiling
just heads up you have SDK these are located in SDK/platform/android-15/data/res with the res of the framework
also if you use apktools when you decompile the apk it will automatically put the lines in for you
also if you decompile any apk with apktools it will add the lines to .9 files automatically

you said you had problem with .9 files i was assuming you dint know how to do the lines..if dont wrong you might have issues that why i posted them..to give you a refrence
After i do the lines i used xUltimate-d9pc from command prompt in windows
then you are all set
if you want i can do. If you have the the lines it will take just a sec for xUltimate to fix
m1l4droid said:
I used apktool. decompiled the framework, edited png's with Photoshop, and when tried to compile, got ****load of errors. Those errors happen when you remove a PNG and don't remove the line for in public.xml, which is weird because I didn't remove anything. Just edited them.
Thanks for your help, I will send you the png's, I think I'll redo them, was not exactly satisfied with the ones I recreated, and will try to make it more ICS/JB style, not just recolored GB. Also I think I messed up some of those lines in .9.png files... But I am not home tomorrow and probably the day after tomorrow. But I'll jump on it as soon as I can and will send you the PNG's, if I couldn't get apktool to work.

I just pull res folder and edit images colors
Use draw9patch to do lines
then xUltimate then replace images manually drag/drop back into zip works just as good

Here is a quick and simple way to change the system background for Sony based ROM's.
What you need:
5 minutes
A rooted device
7zip >>LINK<<
UFT.zip >>LINK<< THIS CONTAINS PRE-BUILT DIRECTORIES!
Backgrounds of your choice- 720x1280 maximum dimensions. Named "semc_bg_bright_tile"(light), and/or "semc_bg_tile"(dark).
Instructions:
Download and install 7zip
Download UFT.zip
Right click "UFT.zip" and select "7zip>Open archive"
In the new window navigate to "MORPH\system\framework\SemcGenericUxpRes.apk\res\drawable-xhdpi\". You will see an image named "REPLACE_THIS_IMAGE_720X1280_MAXIMUM.png", delete it!
Place your new background files in here by dragging and dropping. They must be called "semc_bg_bright_tile" and/or "semc_bg_tile".
Close the window and place on you sdcard for flashing
Note: Make sure signature verification is turned off!!

Obviously not as it tells you the location and names of the png's.
Of course im assuming your xperia tipo firmware is the same as the xperia T, if not then why are you posting here and not in your parent forum?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1982
You dont change 2 png's to change settings background, you change 1, the dark png as named in the OP.
And no you dont necessarily have to use whatever your screen resolution is, but it wont hurt. A lot of firmware that isnt riddled with Sony's messy overlay use "background_holo_dark" and "background_holo_light" at 512x512 pixels found in framework-res\res\drawable-nodpi to display the background
How to invoke a status bar background image.
The following was tried and tested on the SystemUI.apk from xperiment 2.3 JB but should work on others.
You do the following at your own risk.
What you need:
A basic understanding of apkmanager/apkmultitool.
Tools used:
apkmanager v5.0.2 for de/compilng.
UFT (universal flash tool) for pushing.
Image editor.
Draw9patch (sdk tools).
Step 1
decompile SystemUI.apk and open up "res/values/drawable.xml"
Step 2
Search for the line of code reads:
Code:

[COLOR=Red]#ff000000[/COLOR]

Then carry on with Step 3.
If it reads:
Code:

[COLOR=Red]@drawable/***[/COLOR]

move on to step 4
Step 3
We need to change:
Code:

[COLOR=Red]#ff000000[/COLOR]

To
Code:

[COLOR=Red]@drawable/NAME_OF_.9.PNG_IN DRAWABLE_FOLDER[/COLOR]

I used this:
Code:

[COLOR=Red]@drawable/status_bar_bg[/COLOR]

This will tell the system to display "status_bar_bg
Step 4
We need to add an image with the name of the drawable.
e.g.
Code:

@drawable/status_bar_bg

I would add a .9.png to res/drawable-xhdpi named status_bar_bg.9.png
The images MUST be a .9.png. I tried running standard png's and SystemUI stopped running.
Step 5
Delete "res/values/public.xml" and recompile.
When asked "is this a system apk?" choose yes.
When asked if you would like to "copy over" choose yes.
In the keep folder delete "resources.arsc" and continue.
If it compiled without errors you should have an apk named something like unsignedSystemUI.apk. rename it to SystemUI.apk and push it to your phone.
End result:

trying the tool now but having some error recompiling the framework-res.apk. I nstalled framework-res and SemcGenericUxpRes.apk.
mate, please tell me how you managed to mod your battery icon using that tool. SystemUI was re-compiled successfully but not the framework-res. What steps did I miss?
i'm having this error there:

actually, no changes in status_bar.xml, only if I know how to make the VRTheme flasher work, it would have been easier
anyway, here's your modified SystemUI.apk
I have a template of VRTheme.zip, but for the life of me, I cannot make it to work on my phone.
EDIT:Finally, I got the VRTheme flashable zip to work on my phone. Now you can try this flashable zip as well CWM_V_140_no_percentage.

EDIT:And for those who wants battery percent text only(no battery icon at all):
Just remove the stat_sys_battery.xml from your SystemUI.apk. Just use 7zip or WinRar and delete that file in "/res/drawable" folder.

Mate, if you want to remove the battery icon, just open the SystemUI.apk in winrar or 7zip, go to /res/drawable folder, delete stat_sys_battery.xml
You only need apktool if you want to remove the battery percent text and edit status_bar.xml. Here it is if that's what you meant, only battery icon(no percent text).
Which one you meant?

I only want the percentage. So after I delete it then what?
