now that talk, market, etc seem working...it seems calendar is the last hole to plug.
the 3rd party apps i have like pure calendar and touch calendar can't find anything.
is there already a fix for this or still a WIP?
Latest version of Auto-Nooter includes the calendar app, but it will not sync with the Google servers. I hope someones working on it, but then again, I hope those with the expertise are working on a full blown ROM for us to upgrade too.
There was some discussion about this awhile back.
Here is a post with files that work for me
(I have a fully functional calendar, albeit restricted to one gmail account, and I have CalWidget set up).

I used this to get my calendar working a while ago (before auto-nooter, etc. were out) and calendar works fine for me. BTW - a belated thanks to feisty_noodle!

These steps got the program working, but my NC still doesn't sync the calendar with the cloud, only internally displayed appts. Is this the case for everyone else?

Calender syncs with all my calendars correctly and works fine. I followed the instructions step by step on nook devs. I wasn't even aware there was an issue.

Thanks for this info.. I will most likely re-root with the newest nooter and hopefully all will sync in one fell swoop.. I sideloaded the calendar apk's, so there might not be any info pushing to the syncd cloud correctly.

All of my calendars from my main gmail account sync fine, but I cannot access calendars on my other Gmail accounts.
Can you see those using the apps provided by the Autonooter-2.12.15?

If you have the accounts set up correctly and the apk's in place, you should have no problems syncing. ... Puzzling ...
Can you see your accounts in Google Books or Google Reader?
I'm having strange synching issues.
I grabbed both apks from the link above...the 2nd set.
placed them in system/app using Root explorer.
Rebooted. Now i have Calendar in the app tray.
I have one main Calendar and 2 Other Calendars (Wife's and Facebook events).
All linked under my gmail account.
In the calendar settings I do see all of these...however seeing that they are arranged alphabetically...my Wife's name goes on top...so hers are the only events that are being displayed.
So is it still ONLY ONE calendar can be displayed at a time? I do see all of them...and I can check/uncheck as I please to select... but would really like to view all...
Did i use the correct set of APKs?
and for some background.
I rooted with Supernooter.
Then got gapps using Auto_nook0.8 Autoconfig process.
Everything's working as desired except this calendar synching issue...and it'd be ideal not having to go through a newer Root process from scratch again...Thanks
Anyone have the calender apk out the the "auto-nooker"?

I am now also noticing strange behavior:
Initially, I rooted with nooter-2 and installed GApps/Market and Calendar separately (as was done at the time).
I am noticing that, although the initial sync picked up all the calendars from my login Gmail account, new events are synced only from Nook to Google server.
Importantly, I cannot sync new events to Nook from my Google calendars!
Also, and, at this point, a minor issue: my other Gmail accounts are not harvested for calendars (likely because there is no provision for this during "Add Account" dialog).
Can anyone please check on their Nooks whether new events get added to their calendars when created on devices other than the Nook?
If anyone succeeds: what was your root and Calendar installation methods?
Thanks.
Updates: the same is true for me with Autonooter-2.12.15 and Autonooter-2.12.18 (FW1.0.1).

I have this problem also. Initial sync worked fine, but I'm not seeing newly added events.
There doesn't seem to be a way to force a sync...
It seems that one peculiar difference with my phone's Calendar operation is that on the Nook the service called "Calendar Storage" (com.android.providers.calendar) is not running.
Anybody have any ideas? Does this possibly explain lack of ongoing synchronization?
I have dabbled a bit in different versions of Calendar.apk and CalendarProvider.apk from different Roms, but had no luck. The apks from cm-5.0.8 are the only ones that work as well as we have seen.
There is a free app (Business Calendar Beta) that has an effective "Sync now" function.
This thing triggers the latent calendar sync with the Google servers.
... Unfortunately, it is just a "Band-Aid" for this lack-of-syncing problem, but ... nevertheless.

In a similar vein, I got "Syncer Widget" to work, so I just put the widget next to the calendar widget to remind me to sync every now and then.
Just don't click on the choice to go to Android accounts and sync, as that rebooted my NC.
I did a complete wipe (system and user data) then autonooter w/ 1.01 firmware; not issues w/ my calendar syncing, but I only have one google account.

Do you mean that when you add an event on your Nook, it appears on your Google Calendar page (on the computer) and vice versa: when you add something on your GCal, it appears on your Nook?
Yep, works both ways. I'm using the Launcher Pro calendar on my nook and it's syncing no problem with my google account calendar.

@Kokanee483, I see, you probably mean the Launcher Pro widget calendar.
It may have a force sync function which is cool and would solve the problem in a way symilar to Synker or Business Calendar Beta.
I am more interested in the fundamental problem of CalendarProvider service not running.
Would you mind checking whether it syncs both ways from the Calendar App itself?
Also, if you have NookColor Tools, would you check Running Services for the CalendarProvider service entry?
Thanks.
I have rooted my Fire HD (currently on 7.2.2 and re-rooted after the update) and followed various threads to install Play and the bits required to sync properly with Google (gmail.apk/googleLoginService.apk/GoogleServiceFramework.apk/Vending.apk/GPlay3.8.17.apk)
I have the Google calendar app as well as the Amazon app and use Business Calendar as my main calendar app.
I also have a load of calendars - family and work etc - and they all sync.
However, after the device has been screen off for a while it "looses" the Google calendars - it keeps the Exchange ones though. If I go into the Google calendar app and the "Calendars to be displayed" bit it shows just the Exchange ones. Click on "Calendars to be synced" and just the Exchange ones. Click OK then "Calendars to be synced" and the Google account shows up. Click on it a couple of times and the calendars show up as not synced. Select all the ones I want and save. Still do not show. Go back into "Calendars to be synced" and back out and they are all there. All show up in Business Calendar as well. All sync properly.
Until it is screen off for a while. Then it is back to square one.
Guess it might be related to the issues others were having with GTalk dropping but it seemed a bit odd.
Any ideas?
I use Google as my contact repository and make a lot of use of groups.
As the built in Kindle Fire HD person app does not touch groups, what route is there to having all my contact information on the Kindle. I use aContact on my phone which gives a nice interface to the Google contact data but I can not work out how to get the native Google contact data synced to my Kindle.
I have followed another thread and have Sync Settings installed and can see the Google sync settings and on the Google account there is no contact option. The only contact option is on the Exchange and Amazon accounts.
Any ideas how I can get the Google contact data to sync.
I wish I had a better answer but I have loaded several google apps on my hd and in the "people" app that I believe is amazons I note my google contacts are in it...
I'm guessing it autoloaded the list into it

I have been using Hotmail on my Kindle Fire HD for a couple of weeks with no issues. Then 24 hours ago when I open the Hotmail inbox my old messages are showing, however at the top of the screen it is constantly showing "checking emails" & there are no new emails shown in the inbox. It looks like it is probably trying to sync to my Hotmail account but nothing has changed for 24 hours. I have looked at my email settings on the Kindle to see if there is anything obvious I can find, but I am unable to clear the problem & get my new emails. Can anyone help me with this please?

acb24,
I am sorry for the delayed response. It sounds like either the email app cache or data is corrupt.
Let's flush both the data and cache:
1. Pull down the upper status bar
2. Select More+
3. Choose Applications
4. Select Installed Applications
5. Scroll down to Email
6. Click on "Clear Data"
7. Force Stop
8. Reboot
9. Open up email and add your Hotmail account again
Your problem should resolve. You probably had a fragmented internet connection that corrupted
part of the email as it was downloading, causing the email app to freeze. Rare but it does happen.
Hi - I tried searching for my problem on these forums and couldn't find anything so am hoping someone can help.
I bought a Nook HD+ for my mother and have set up her Google Play, Facebook, Gmail and other accounts on her own profile. I have also created a profile for me with the some of the same apps such as Facebook, gmail etc. However when I log into my account the apps still have my mother logged in.
Is there a way to keep the application data separate so when we log in we each see our own set of pre-logged in apps like Facebook. I would prefer not having to log off after every session.
Any help would be appreciated.
