I used CWM to flash cm9 ROM to my phone and upon rebooting it entered a boot loop. I can still get into download mode but am unable to get into recovery. I keep thinking if I can perform a factory reset on my phone I can flash the original firmware and start over....but how do I do that when I can't get into recovery? Please Help!
I had something similar to this, I had a corrupt flash and it wouldn't let me even get to recovery. What i did was open up kies, go to tools, then Firmware upgrade and initialization. Follow the steps, you need the model SGH-t879 and your SN from the back of the phone under the battery. Let it flash it to the phone and it should reboot. I'm not 100% this would work, but it worked for me so it could be worth a shot.
Or go to download mode, flash recovery again. Then flash roms etc...

Hi everyone
First of all a little history:I used this [PhilZ-cwm6][n7000] v4.93.6 Safe Stock Kernel+CWM6+Root+exFAT+ext4-LT4 to root my n7000 on 4.0.4 (I bought it with 4.0.4).
Then after some time Android wanted an upgrade to 4.1.2 and after some time I just tried it and it failed after booting into recovery mode, because it didnt find a the expected kernel, I think. But I had the chance to boot up again.
OK I then did the update with Kies-Software and everything worked again. Then I rooted the phone again using the same method as mentioned in the post above.
Now today the phone wanted to update again, I thought, OK, if it didnt fail completely the first time, it will fail in recovery mode and let me boot up again.
But...
This time it went into recovery mode and didnt let me boot up again. It just shows the robot with the crystal and the progress bar seems to move a little but then the screen goes black for a second and the robot returns and the progress bar moves a little and the same again.... I dont get into the recovery menu.
I tried samsung kies emergency recovery, it doesnt find my n7000.
I tried to flash the kernel with a newer version from the post above. (I am not allowed to post there). No change it gets stuck in broken recovery mode.
I can push volumedown power and home to get into the download mode.
My question is what can I do?
Is there any other chance to avoid a complete stock recovery (is that the right term/way)?
What do I have to flash and how?
I am a little worried about the brick issues and I dont know which version I have to flash to set it back completely...
Please help & thanks
drz
No worries, since your download mode is still working you can flash a stock Samsung ROM via odin. Download one from here and flash it in odin while in download mode. Latest at this point of time is LT4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
This will give you the stock JB Bootloader, Recovery, and ROM. Its completely unrooted though, and the phone will not be wiped in the process, so remember to do so after you flashed it.

Thanks a lot, crownest!
I sweated a bucket of blood and seat, because I couldnt wipe cache and data first, but it worked!!!
Everything looks like before!´the update!
Some more questions (sorry):
do you think I should wipe cache and data now?
Is a stock rom like the rom on internal usbcard only?
What about the update? Can I update safely now?
Thanks again for helping...

Yup you should be able to wipe cache and dalvik with no issues now.
I believe all ROMs be it stock or custom installs to the NAND memory (Someone correct me if im wrong) and never on your internal/external SDcard
As for OTA updates via Kies, I dont see why not, but if the same issue does reoccur again then my suspicions would point to a possible NAND corruption on the device. Not sure if there is a fix for that, but its a risk you gotta take. Or you can always root the phone and flash custom ROMs as new builds get released, this way you'll never have to use OTA updates again.
Hi guys. I was hoping that maybe some of you genius's maybe be able to help me out? I will try and explain my problem as clearly as possible.
I have an I9305 and an from the UK. I have rooted my phone before and used many custom roms. But quite recently I decide to unroot my phone and go back to a normal stock rom. Last week I got the urge
to root again and install some custom roms. I quickly discovered that since I had OTA my phone that the latest OS has problems (knox) with rooting. I did manage to root my phone. However, the problem started when I tried to install
twrp through Goomanager. I tried to reboot into recovery mode and my phone was stuck on the Galaxy S III splash start screen, and I could not get into recovery mode either. I could still get into download mode. Eventually I did manage
to restore my phone using odin, and install a stock rom for Ireland. After this I tried to install a stock from for the UK, and now my phone is now back to being stuck on the splash screen, and I can not enter recover mode on my phone
using the up/home/power combo, but I can still acces download mode and conect to odin. I have been searching on line for several days for some solutions and fixes, but I seem to be getting no where. So please, if you can help my out and hopefully get my phone back to life I would
be extremely grateful.
If you can boot to download mode, then have you tried to flash a custom recovery with odin? If its twrp you want then flash the twrp tar for i9305 which you can get off the team win website and then see if you can access recovery. If you can, then you should be able to flash a samsung 4.3 rom or cm rom from external sd if you don't have one on your internal or even restore a backup if you have one.
AllianceROM I9305
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have tried to flash cwm and twrp using odin. They seem to flash fine, but I can not enter recover mode at all. I have also tried to flash some custom roms and they also seem to flash fine, with no errors, but my phone is still stuck on the boot logo. Thanks for any more help.

im afraid like me, your stuck on 4.3... download the offical rom and odin it across to your phone, you will not be able to root your phone from now on, your stuck stuck with stock 4.3.. you cant even enter recovery mode thanks to knox.. just the download mode.. like i said in my post "UP YOURS SAMSUNG" IF I EVER SEE YOU IN THE STREET ILL KNOX YOU OUT LOL
relating btuali
Thanks for you replies and help so far. It would be good if I could flash 4.3 through odin, but unfortunately after each successful flash, my phone remains on the sIII logo screen. Maybe there is a specific rom that you guys could recommend that I try? Thanks once again.
Hi there. A big thanks for taking the time to help and give advice. I now finaly have my phone working again. I used Odin 3.7 and the latest official rom, entitled "I9305XXUENA1_I9305SIOENA1_SIO.zip" Odin froze and stalled a few times trying to install but after a few tries it worked. I can now also get back into recovery mode now. So, I was wondering might it be a good idea to do the normal wipes in recovery mode. ie wipe cache, etc. Thanks once again.

Will do.:good:
I was trying to change roms, and I during Rom installation it just rebooted, first that has ever happened. I shrug it off, then play store starts messing up, so I try to Odin, and for whatever reason it decided to reboot that as well, so now I'm stuck in a boot loop. Suggestions, help, anything at all please......
It was booting up as if it was going into recovery, then just turning off, and repeating the process. How I was able to fix this was instead of trying the full firmware Odin I used this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2902574
And used partial, that worked. Now any ideas about it interrupting recovery?
What firmware are you on ? And when you Odin did you use latest firmware ruu
---------- Post added at 12:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 AM ----------
Try wiping all except ext SD then wipe dalv and cache then reboot
I did not use an ruu, just the cfroot. At that point my recovery, rebooted and tried to continue while it was installing supersu. It did that multiple times before I knew something was wrong, after awhile I used the partial tar from NK4. Now the play store it force closes when trying to download, and gives me rpc-7 aec 7, then I follow the steps, removing the account etc.... but it does not work. On top of that recovery still kicks me into reboot while I'm trying to install something.
Try pulling the battery, then do a full wipe and then try flashing firmware again.

The problem is Recovery is rejecting everything I try to install, well everything big, I go in to flash a rom and during the installation it literally reboots to the system. That's what happened during full firmware flash odin. I tried to also use flashify to revert to stock, same the recovery green android shows up, but kicks me out anything but a partial flash does not work. Now I'm trying to Odin full stock, and its halfway through.

Start over. Go back and grab the files to flash in Odin. Make sure you got good downloads. Flash back to stock, then re root.
Also did you get the bootloader unlocked before you tried to flash recovery. You may want to run that processes again as well.
Somewhere in your process you got a bad flash. Most likely it is either while you unlocked the bootloader, or when you flashed recovery.
If you don't want to start completely over you can try flashing your recovery again in ODIN. It might be the best place to start.

Successfully flashed stock odin, or so i thought..... Its now stuck in a bootloop from the samsung screen to being able to wipe to get into the phone then reboots. Then went into recovery to wipe. For whatever reason that worked. So far so good, Its finally not rebooting during recovery. I guess I just needed to revert to stock.
the galaxy tab 8.9 is quite aged so i thought that i could pump some newer juice in it. bad luck, it got bricked. stuck at the samsung logo, bootlooping over n over
it started when i tried to install twrp, my current recovery is cwm. currently, i can only boot into download mode. so, i tried flashing back cwm, twrp and even stock recovery but all of it failed. i also tried flashing another stock rom but it also failed. odin didnt even tried, it stucked at "SetupConnection"
can anyone hand out a helping hand?
when i tried to reboot it back now, it asks me to "select recovery from kies" something like that about an error.

I have a similar problem. I am waiting for tablet to die (battery dead) then plug into wall charger and it should bring up download mode.
Do you have the LTE model?

im afraid i dont
Going to necro this because I've had the same problem as the OP (but not 2nd message).
I had CWM 5, tried to flash TWRP (so I could get Nougat), ended up with no recovery bootable. Can anyone help me get back with a recovery?
Tried to flash TWRP 3 but stuck at "failed". The tab was stuck in like 2% status, and wouldn't respond to Odin commands to flash again, so I had to reboot it.
Then there was no recovery I could boot into (icon would just flash when I tried to enter recovery from bootloader menu).
If I don't try to boot into bootloader menu, it sometimes would show the message "Software update failed", but would still accept Odin flashing.
I tried flashing via odin TWRP 2.6, 2.7, 3.0, CWM 5.5, Stock recovery and all did not work. TWRP <=2.7 and CWM would flash OK but still could not enter it, icon would just flash the icon but not change screen.
It doesn't display "Software update failed" screen anymore, but when I try to boot it normally with power button, it will always go into bootloader mode. If I restart with power + vol -, it would go into bootloader menu for you to choose between recovery and bootloader mode.
What should I do next to get a recovery back?
I haven't tried from Odin flashing a full stock image since I can't find a working download link anymore since hotfiles and devhost are down. Does anyone have a .tar or .tar.md5 for Odin flashing they could link me?
Never mind. I managed to find a stock image flashable by odin, flashed that and recovered stock recovery (and a stock ROM). I used the stock recovery to flash TWRP and then used TWRP to flash a new ROM, and all seems to be well now!

It is not possible with Stock recovery to flash the TWRP Recovery.
I think your Stock image has an CWM Recovery ( its a modified Stock Recovery ) and it is possible to flash TWRP.

Hi, that's great news! Would you be able to share where you got the ROM from and what version of Odin you used (and where you got it) please?
I am stuck on the boot screen with my GT-P7300. The stock images I have found so far don't flash through Odin and also fail in the recovery.
Many thanks in advance

I've just tried to factory reset my N950F, that had custom rom. This didn't remove my media files for some reason, so I did a full wipe from TWRP.
This has sent me into a bootloop, however I can still get into the download screen for odin. I've tried flashing TWRP again with this but while my laptop says pass it is stuck on 'Downloading, do not turn off target'.
I'm now waiting to download https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note8/SM-N950F/BTU/download/N950FXXU5DSB2/259437/ am I doing something wrong or do I have to return to stock in order to use the phone again?
Would rather have TWRP and install a custom ROM.
Thanks all,
Andy
Download firmware, flash it with Odin run wait till device turn on, wait some time. Then just simply flash your ROM, root and stuff
