[Q] Help Me With Galaxy Note.

Hai pals. Greetings to you.
I get one used galaxy note.
After i turn on the phone(With a inactive sim) i saw that there are some security measurements in that phone like Sending messages when changing the sim, Samsung's famous Mobile tracker etc.
All i need is.,
1. Is there any way to remove those settings by flashing custom ROMS or upgreade/degrade it legally.
2. I want it to be as new as factory made. Is there any possibilities.?
Please put your valuable suggestion here. Im total nOOb for this android things.
Just do a factory reset in recovery....I advice this believing that its been legally obtained...

I cant root on ics

I cant post in the dev forum cause im new so i thought id post it here. When i try the motifail root i get the error that it doesnt know what the adb drivers are. I followed the instructions to a T and it said it was completed but when i installed root checker it said i wasnt rooted. ( just asking when rooting are you supposed to turn off the phone or do you leave i on because i just left it on. I installed the drivers but idk what is wrong.) I am trying to root so i can get jb. Thanks for a help. And if im posting thus in the wrong place please tell me so everyone doesnt hate me. Thanks

so you installed motorola device manager to get the correct drivers right? if so just wipe caches on your phone from within recovery (power + vol-up simultaneously with power off) and try motofail2go again. make sure you are doing the bug report button combo correctly. just keep trying
When im doing motofail do i turn off my phone?

Homescreen is where you start the process.
Make sure you have unknown sources checked in settings and usb debugging turned on.
And when the process is successful will something
Happen? Like will the phone reboot or something?

Use the utility in this thread. If you can't get it rooted with this, maybe you should reconsider (no offense intended)

You would have to be in the bootloader to flash that. Tell me what the name of the file is and I will tell you how to flash it via fastboot.

And thanks a lot really appreciate it :highfive:
I don't even know how to get to the bootloader on this phone though if you could help me with that as well.
Know how to get into recovery and download mode :good:
Hey, forget about the boot loader and download "ktool" from the play store. This app should make it easy for you to restore your backup.

How to root Android L [SuperSU updated]

Hi Everyone, I just want to share this easy steps to root Android L.
Note: Android L is a Developer preview, it is not stable as the KitKat version and it is using ART runtime only, so not all apps are compatible.
Update: The v2.01 release fixes some incompatibility issues with the Android "L" Preview. There is no binary update over v2.00.

I recommend backup all your data/files in a PC, to avoid data loss. And don't blame me if you have a bootloop or stuck at boot logo.
TRY IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Boot into bootloader
For TWRP format cache first
Code:
fastboot format cache
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Boot into recovery
Flash the SuperSU-v2.01.zip
Reboot
You now have root access.

At first I had a problem with wiping the caches via TWRP, but I had to flash supersu first then wipe the caches and now everything is up and running. Great job!
Confirmed. This is working! Nice job!

Everytime I try it says that the TWRP recovery image is too large. Any ideas?
I'm guessing this is the same as the other root method, where it roots your device, but some apps still don't work as root apps?
Titanium Backup is my main concern.

I agree. I saw your post in the preview thread. I haven't used your process and boot.img yet, but will soon.
Give this man the recognition man, the least you could do.
Can anyone explain what this means?
Are those commands I put into cmd?
