Hi,
I am new to this and need advice. I tried rooting my KFHD 7" using KFU 0.9.6 and all seemed to be going well until it said it was trying to boot into Recovery mode. The Kindle did not reboot after about 20 minutes and has not turned on since. I have tried various ways to unbrick such as Kindle Fire Unbricker v1.1 but this will not work as the PC does not detect the Kindle. I also have a Factory cable which i understood would put the Kindle into Fastboot and aid me in unbricking but still nothing. Any help would be appreciated, thank-you
Kfu is for the non he models you will most likely need a factory cable to fix

Shawnsch thanks for your response, I have the 'Factory Cable' but my PC on Windows 7 won't detect the Kindle, any idea on how to get it to detect would be appreciated then I can look at further fixes for the device.
I believe he mean the fast boot cable, this one is different than the factory cable. You use the tutorial on how to restore system software, and than your fixed.

Yes a fastboot cable also referred to as a factory cable in the fourms

Hi, i used a Fastboot/Factory cable to root the Kindle Fire HD but it didn't reboot after rooting and now the PC will not find my Kindle whether i use the Fastboot/Factory cable or a standard cable and either the SDK or ADB........ I am getting the feeling that this will not be fixable
I don't believe that you actually used a factory cable. A factory cable is not a normal using cord' it's not the one the kindle came with. A factory cable is a modified cable that boots the kindle into fastball as soon as it is plugged in. I will try to get you a link to the guy I got mine from

I installed an app I believe was called Device Spoofer so I could try and use the Google Play Store without getting those incompatible device errors. I selected a device to spoof and rebooted the device and now it is stuck at the boot splash screen. I am guessing I bricked the device but was wondering if there is a method I can use to unbrick it.
Install back the rom of kfhd

Yes and no what does your computer say when the kindle is plugged in via usb

I went and bought a factory cable so I could get it in fastboot mode, so when I plug it in it shows an orange diagonal wording of Fastboot with Kindle Fire under it in smaller letters. But I am unable to detect the device in ADB or Fastboot.
ok nevermind. after extensive research and the use of that awesome kindle fire aide kit i have fixed it.
Re: [Q] is my Kindle Fire HD Bricked?

He said he tried both of those and it comes back to that screen. That is just a recovery bootloop. First get your KFFirstAide on your computer. Then read from this page on to fix your problem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096888&page=140 (Look for posts starte by "Bdeatha" and "AmrBanawan". It starts on this page Post number 1396. You won't need a factory fastboot cable, so when you restore you should say "yes" to it asking you to reboot into fastboot mode.
Good Luck!

NO check your devices manager, see if there is a kindle there in "portable devices" and then check device and printer to seee if kindle is in unspecified devices. You should be able to boot KFHD into fastboot without factory cable. To buy a factory cable if you need it you can Private message this guy. http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4435645

after making a mod I now get the kindle fire system recovery (red triangle).
I have tried the "reboot your kindle" option with no luck & I have tried the "reset to factory" defaults option with no luck.
I am not sure what to do next?

my computer does not recognize the kindle, I have the black cable that came with the fire when bought new.
no the factory cable is a special cable you have to buy our make also called a fast boot cable it tells the kindle to go into a very basic boot up mode so you can communicate with it adb, this making it to where you can restore an old boot image

how can you tell if it is the right cable & where can I get one or do I have to make my own?
I made a thread on here explaining how to make one, but if you can't solder it's of no use to you...
There are a lot of people that claim the eBay ones do not work
So best bet may be ordering one from a guy named sc0rpn on xda
You'll find mentions in the kffaide thread here is a link on how to make one

I can personally vouch for Sk0rpn's cables. I would not have been able to do the experimentation required to develop Kinology without one.
I got my "Sk0rpn's cable" today and when I plug it in I do see the fastboot logo, now I am not sure where to begin to fix my Fire?
I am not sure exactly whats wrong with the kindle?
I am using a mac.
I am still quite new at this.when I turn on my kindle I get the "Kindle Fire System Recovery" screen.
i have same issue, red screen on boot. I got fastboot cable and installed tool and image. Now after selecting option 1 it just sits on < waiting for device >
if i run as administrator it says 'fastboot' is not recognized
it also seems the drivers aren't getting fully installed/updated
what can i do?
i would love some help or at least some closure if i have truly bricked it.
Does your screen show word fastboot

First try to install amazon drivers on preferred then try restoring to 7.2.3 option 3
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD using Tapatalk HD
With fast boot cable plugged in go into device manager and delete your kindle drivers then unplug it and plug it back in, if not all drivers install you need to find them they are all over these threads. You simply have a driver issue. Your kindle is more than recoverable, after your drivers are working run first aid

There's a hundred topics on this if you just use the search engine.
Thanks for that thought, i have looked, I do have the most up to date kindle usb drivers i can get but still can not get windows to reconize the kindle in fastboot, I just want to clairify that the issue with the hd7 that can "fast boot" is that i cant get my computer to reconize it
Plug it in with a normal cable once it's in fastboot, then try my drivers in my signature on the device in the device manager that should say something like tate-pvt or jem-pvt if it is a 8.9" model.

I only stated that because so many times we have posted lengthy responses to this question and it takes a lot to type it all up on a tablet.
You stated you have 2 7" tablets. So stick with Tate.
So in fastboot , that's what you should see, fastboot. You won't see a red triangle and adb will not be recognized. Download the system restore tool here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33156486 follow the OP.
Edit: If a fastest cord does nothing to energize your tablet, that's a hard brick.
Edit 2: Update link to proper one.

The only thing i can get on device manager is "unknown device, no drivers installed"

1.) Download the version you want to use from the link below and unzip.
2.) Enable fastboot mode. Turn off your device then plug into your pc using a factory cable. If the device is recognized by adb then you can use this command:"

What that means is if adb is recognized then you can use a command to get into fastboot with a standard USB. This does not apply to you because you're looking. You want to restore your tablet, I have shown you how to.
