i think hes having a bash at it. its gotta be a cm7 first. We need to finish this project off before starting on later ones. Leave CM9/10 to the experienced Devs that can help us, id rather have a fully working CM7 than a half built Cm9/10 in progress that takes priority.

When the most things work on CM7 then it will be easier to port them to CM10 I think.

I suppose there is a lot of confusion regarding our priorities. So I am listing them out.
a> Screw up the current CM7.
b>Get Ics.
We are not a team of a thousand men. We need to work with unity as a unit. We cannot afford confusion at any cost. So let's work with some unity as a uint and post whatever project we are doing with immediate effect and be in touch with each other.

well you can sit there and screw up the CM7 and work on non booting/functional CM versions, if a version becomes available that works then fine. I personally will not leave a Functional but buggy CM7 rom left to die off.
Whats the point in wasting whats taken so many months to do already.
Users will be happy with whatever they get the option to use, like they already do.

If no one has an extra device they are able to part with can we try to get you one with donations?

Donation to CM team to provide us CM10?

Who is in? I'm willing to donate up 20-30 dollars.
Is it really worth taking the chance? X amount of people might donate up to $300 and they still might not give us CM10, after all they are not obliged to as its a donation. Where as new devices are getting CM10, so a port would be a more viable option?
Just my opinion.

We dont have a working custom JB kernel yet, but when we do the majority of bigs in JB roms will be fixed. People are working on these kernels as well, so its only a matter of time.

Accidentally posted this under development. Wanted to post it under general. I was more like we will donate IF you promise to provide. But I should make that donation in any case since I've been using CM7 for a year now.
I believe instead of paying them, if we pay our local or forum developers we could get some more and amazing ROM as compare to CM10.

No. I like a smooth ROM with good battery life. I have tried several others, but sooner or later I have turned back to CM.
I would love CM10 on more HTC devices... we didn't even get a CM9, not did the Desire HD... both capable devices. Hopefully using HTC's source code the team can make something happen. They're doing a fantastic service.
Is there any chance to get CM9?

Depends entirely on what your experience is. There's a big difference between learning to cook having never cooked a thing in your life, and learning to cook French cuisine if you're already a master sushi chef.
I'll play it safe and say I've never cooked a thing in my life, but my dad is also a system engineer and could help if I needed it. I'd rather learn without his help.

Start with an RUU. Run the RUU on your PC. Stop at the first screen after it's done loading, don't proceed, but don't close the window. Start/Run and type %TEMP% and hit enter (this will take you to your user temp folder). Sort the folders by date and open the newest. Here you should find Rom.zip. Use this as your base ROM in the kitchen. Root it, deodex it (or not), zipalign it, etc - and you end up with a flashable ROM from an RUU

He's a stand up guy and if you have skills to create a rom I'm sure he could use the help to test things. Just my 2 cents. We all want the same thing we just need to follow the rules and do it the right way. I wish I knew more about code and compiling roms but I have a lot to learn before I can help.

Help porting to d2vzw

Any devs want to help port this to the Verizon S3? I have tried but cannot seem to succeed...
Yes, I know someone did this back in February, but it was just the live demo version... I have been in contact with him and he doesn't seem to want to be of much help. All he said was "It should work with the newer releases", which it did not. I have no idea what he did to make that edited version of CM 10.1 work with the quantal preview, but I would like to somehow get it working with a stable release of saucy.
I have tried many things, and have not had success with any of them as of yet.
If someone could take a look at the files and figure out what needs to be done, I will do it just tell me what to do.
The original stuff can be found here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/39299-romwip-ubuntu-touch-on-d2vzw-dev-previewphantom-022213/
nightly updated builds from ubuntu can be found here: http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch/daily-preinstalled/
I really don't have much experience with porting, but if someone would be willing to partner up on this with me, I would be so grateful.. I really can't be the only Verizon S3 owner itching to try out Ubuntu Touch...
Really, nobody...?

you're gunna want to follow this guide to get you started up. I know there's someone working on the d2Att port which should be compatible with your d2vzw. I myself have been attempting to port this to the d2's as well but have had no luck. To the people that say it's as easy as porting cm: no it's not. I guess in theory it is but with all of the kernel modifications and stuff required to get it up and running correctly it's just a LOT of work. I hope you have better luck than i have had and let me know if you need any help, i'll try to be of some assistance.
If I had any experience with porting stuff other than pulling cm kernel, and a few other things and such from a working aosp rom and using it on an aosp rom from another device.... Anyways if I could I'd help, if I can quickly be taught, I'll contribute the crap out of myself into this. Official ubuntu touch is supposed to be out on October 17th according to rumors, around same time as ubuntu 13.10 release

I know it'll be out Oct 17th, which I am excited as hell about, cause its 3 days away lol. :good:
However, I don't believe our device is one of the ones "officially" supported, so either way we will have to figure out a port... I think...
I guess I will wait and see what happens Thursday and take it from there...
