Yep, it's dead. It's hardware problem (since you flashed other ROM right ?, so it's not software problem).

That's creepy. As F4uzan says: It's a hardware problem. I know It is quite a coincidence the vibration stop working just after installing the launcher, but it has nothing to do with the vibration. Maybe the phone received some damage (like falling or something like that before or a lot after the installation of the launcher), or maybe the phone was damaged and the vibration stopped working(?) You should go to the store and change it if you have the guarantee.

Well you can always unroot the mini. But now that you're telling me about how was the phone, I have no other conclusion about it, it's not software related..
I know that I already told you two times that it is not related to the software, but did you try to flash an official firmware using odin? You might do it and see what happens.

Yes, as above said try the official stock GB firmware via Odin. I'm wondering whether its a kernel related issue as the vibrator stopped working. Before going to service center try with the stock ROM and see whether it works.

If the phone vibrates randomly when you plug the charger, then you should make a clean flash with odin with more reason.

Hi,
until yesterday i had a perfectly working fast and snappy device:
JM5, Hackeclair, Tayutama´s update.zip lagfix, oc 120v2.3 kernel
then i tried to update the kernel to oc120v3 which worked out well and the device seemd running well so far. after some hours the device started to behave somewhat strange, it kept telling me "usb connected" again and again and again... so i got scareded and reflashed the 120v2.3 kernel. badly with no effect on the behaviour of the phone. so i just got scared eaven more and tried to reapply a nandroid backup of my virgin phone when i got it just to realize that this nandroid backup was far away from my original version, it showd me the wrong firmware number, did not overwrite the kernel and the csc and such stuff.
then i realized that i can only turn on my phone when it is connected to the charger and the green battery is showing, if i try to turn it on with usb disconnected it shows me the (not really) spinning wheel and then goes black again just to show the wheel again. also it often just crashes during sleep.
so what now? i cant reflash stock firmware since it is not available anywhere (a1 telekom austria branded) and so can not send my phone to repair...
any ideas someone????
you can send to repair saying it is dead. if it doesnt boot up they wont know what kernel or f/w is on it.. (a little dishonost since you toasted it).. or you can chalk it up to experience and buy a new one.. i never oc the extra speed is not needed and it chews through battery anyway.
just download a full firmware like JF3 then using odin and clicking the repartition option flash it to get rid of the oc kernel. I never mess with oc'ing as it tends to screw up your processor. Hopefully yours has not been fried.
it cant be the cpu, since it does start up when its connected to the charger, to me it seems more like the usb port of the device is defect (that could be why it always shows that "usb connected" notification) or somehow maybe the bootloader got messed up. actually the device is running well with a fresh installation of jm5 (repartitioned) except of not starting and those notifications...
also it could be somewhat hard to find jf3 since samsungfirmwares is down
Same thing happened to me a week ago. The usb connected message and the spinning wheel of nothing appeared on my Singapore galaxy set last week.
Went down to Samsung service center and showed them the phone. They were highly suspicious that this was caused by some custom firmware but later they honoured the warranty after some inspection.
2 hours later, my phone was fixed with Samsung telling me that it was because of the motherboard and that they had replaced a new one.
Hope you won't have trouble getting Samsung to do the warranty for you. Good luck.

Nope not overclocked.
I was using the Lagfix 1.0 with Root access only when the funny thing happened. I was running DXJG4 official firmware.
hmm, on investigating further, i realize that if the phone is turned on with charger connected, and i instantly disconnnect it when it starts up, it operates normally, so i just need a charger or usb cable to turn it on and everything is ok. with this i can live for until i find time to bring it to service.

i just see my phone restarts
might seem like a stupid idea, but i had this problem solved by changing my jeans. If you have tight jeans you push and hold your button you dont even know when , since then i haven't had any restarts ;D
im not sure its a jeans problem...because 10 min ago my phone was on my desk...and restarts...and any time restars, my battery drain about 20%.i made another time wipe and reinstal the ROM...my phone its clean.

2)when is on battery,in my pocket or on my desk, restarts.
now i made another flash via ODIN with NO additional app(Darky Rom 10.2 Extreme Ed) to see its a ROM/APP or hardware
i wanna try with CyanogenMod 7 but i didnt find a link to download

Maybe try a stock firmware coz everything is supposed to work as Samsung intended it to on stock.. If it still happens, it's a hardware issue..
I still feel it sounds like a hardware issue.. On battery, how long does it last between reboots? Is the battery loose? Have you tried another battery perhaps?
I have 2 batteries but my phone restarts.i think is a hardware problem because on clean rom the problem persist.
Sometimes restart 2-3 times in 15 minutes...sometimes for 2-3 hours doesnt happens anything...

ok so i got my htc one a couple of days ago and it sees to have a serious problem!
Basically the phone goes through stages of random vibrating every few mins to full on constant vibrating like there is a fan or motor buzzing in there. It even does it if the phone is switched off! Ive just had an episode of it vibrating no stop for 10 mins, didnt make a difference when i switched it off or when i factory reset it!
It seems to overheat or something and only stopped doing it after i had just left it for a while. I have tried to speak with htc about it but they were useless and had no suggestions what soever.
I really need some help here, i bought the phone privately and to all intense purposes it seemed like brand new

No cant exchange it, only option i might have if i cant get the problem ressolved on here would be to send it to htc for repair but can take up to 2 weeks.
when i got the phone it was still on 4.1 and told me update available to 4.2 so i did that. Thats all i have done , apart from unlocking it from 02 using a code.
its almost like on a computer when its being worked hard etc that you here the fan cut in, thats what it seems like except it sounds like the buzz you get when you first start the phone. sometimes it does this just once every few mins or so, other times it will start doing it and not stop...even when switched off.....everything else on the phone seems to work fine

Did the device get wet at some point? Sounds like a hardware problem if a factory reset didn't solve the problem.
There's a slight chance it could be a real bad app or an issue with the rom. Maybe running a stock RUU for your device if you can find it might help.
Pretty sure it hasent got wet .
Would be happy to put stock Rom back on it but not sure how I go about reflashing it .
Don't know if this normal or not but when I did a factory reset I thought the device would be wiped completely, all my pictures and videos etc however when I set it back up again I found some videos on there still that I had downloaded to the phone off the net.
Maybe it's not wiping itself correctly either?

Resetting the device should wipe everything and bring it to the same condition as new.
Go to settings>>Backup & Reset>>Reset phone>>now check "Erase all data", then tap "OK".
If that doesn't work, try to do a factory reset from the bootloader.

Factory reset will wipe the device but leave the contents of the sdcard untouched which explains why your vids are still there
Appreciate the help guys, thankyou
So, is there any benifit to wiping the device completely over and above what I've done allready?
Today the phone has just done the odd sudden vibration as if you were just booting up, around 5 times in total, nowhere near as bad as last night, don't know why that would be.
Would it be possible to reflash standard firmware?
Is so how would I do it. Phone is completley standard and was in 4.1 prior to the ota update to 4.2, could 4.2 be the problem?

I'd try it. You can back up your pics and music on your PC via HTC Sync first.
Ok so I have tried it but no joy

Could it be a bug with the update to 4.2.2?

Don't think it's a bug with 4.2.2 but a hardware issue.
Couple of other things to try ; download "CID Getter" from the play store, run it and find out your device's CID number. Now search on Google or xda for the RUU for your device's CID number. Download the RUU.exe to your pc, connect your phone to the pc and run the RUU.exe. This will bring the phone back to stock 4.1..
Or you can unlock the bootloader and flash another rom. Step by step instructions can be found on xda
Sorry, don't know of any easy solutions.

You tried everything so it's has to be a hardware issue. Maybe the vibration starts when the device gets warm. Sorry we couldn't fix it.

My HTC one has been doing the same thing. Vibrating randomly even when powered down. Brought it back to Sprint and had them order me a new phone. The only way to stop it from vibrating when powered down was to bang it on a hard surface, then it would stop. Crazy!
Vibrating non stop
My HTC One had been vibrating cotinuously too. I kept slapping the upper part of the phone to stop it from vibrating. However, this worked for the initial few days only. Later, it continued to vibrate continuously without stopping at all ! In the night I left the phone in the other room while it was still vibrating and the next morning the phone wouldn't charge at all! Now the phone is not booting/ charging. It is dead! Any leads?
EDIT: I slapped the upper part again, it suddenly woke up from the dead! It is charging now, the LED is red too!! But it is still continuously vibrating. I have left it to charge as of now, but please help with this vibrating problem. Any ideas?
I've had the same issue with my M7 today.
There were no software updates or any new apps lately.
It all emerged when i was pressing the home button (to exit from some app) and at the same time an incomming call started.
I have tried:
switching it off - did not help
Changing volume setting silent\vibe\sound a couple of times - no effect
Soft reset - no help
Hard reset - no help
Slapping with upper side of the phone against my had - helped for some time, the it started again
Seems like hardware issue.
Currently working solution for me:
Switch off the option "Vibrate on keypress" in Settings ==> Sound & notification
UPD: had to turn off all the vibrations
So far so good. Apparently there is some issue with vibe motor, and it just does not stop. I assume that by disabling that option it is not getting started and thus no constant vibe follows.
UPD 2 Fixed:
Issue reoccurred on hitting the device against my palm.
Had to disassemble it, there are a couple of instructions on youtube, i used plastic cards.
Motor was spinning even with a switched off device. Had to unplug and plug the motor a couple of times and it helped.
Turned on all vibrations in settings, no issues so far.
Hope that helps.
Hello developers,
Suddenly my note cant start any more, it shows the Samsung logo and then turn off.
in rare cases it will continue to the splash screen but then quickly turn off. ...
what would this be,,, a soft brick,,, a hard brick,,, or a battery problem,,,,

Easiest way to make sure it's not a battery problem is just to buy a new one from ebay and eliminate the possibility.
But it sounds like an internal problem to me, not software related. You could try a wipe.

I did a factory reset ( I was on JB then) and didn't solve the issue. when the phone is connected to the charger it can go beyond the Samsung logo and the splash screen for a while but will turn off quickly. without a charger it will only show the Samsung logo and then turn OFF.
Can you go into recovery, plug the cable, and then power off the phone? leave it like that for few minutes.
I can go into the download mode but not recovery.... what does that mean???? Tried your other suggestion, but no luck...!!
Is your battery swollen if looking at the side and you say it will go past splash screen if plugged into charger so does that mean it will boot into the Rom if plugged in or does it just stay splash screen and also if not able to get into recovery could mean something happened with the kernel so flashing a fresh jb Rom with Odin maybe what you need. The problem with that is if your battery is bad it could cause more problems trying to flash anything with dead battery as in bricking the device. So you should start with new battery and let charge a few hours then see if your phone boots up if not then you could flash with pc Odin and go from there.

He should try kernel option you gave him, if everything else failed. I read around there were like 3 people with same situation. Maybe they used the same thing?
Search philz kernel, download one or two, and flash those in odin. Its a safe kernel, and powerful cwm.
He probably fixed by now. Hope so, for his own good.
Issue Solved, It was broken battery, Changed the batter and the phone is working again. Thanks everybody for your help....

by any chance, do you know what were the old battery voltages under measurements?
Hello everyone.
I just got my xperia x8 from my brother because he didn't know how to fix it.
The phone seems like it has not even a scratch.
The issue is that everytime i turn it on it is just turning on and off and on and off again and again.
I don't even have time to input my pin.
The battery always seems to be drained although i charge it occasionally.
I have updated it's os with pc companion, but it keeps doing the same thing.
Is there anything that i can do to fix it?

try to flash stock frimware through flash tools(this wipes the data & reinstalls the system partition)
Normally flashing fixes all software fault but if your hardware is damaged so you shouldnt be hopeful.
I think its a sw problem but even an empty battery can cause exactly the same react.(put another battery then try flashtools)
Hope i could help you

that's our little greek secret... no modifications to the software but he kinda had troubles with this mobile for the whole period of time he owned it.he didn't receive messages in the particular device as far as i can remember. the battery doesn't seem to have anything wrong though.it is just sliiiightly puffed but nothing that alerting.i mean i havent charged it for a long time and it can still power the mobile's "neverending loop". if there was a problem wouldnt it not turn on at all or something? i don't have an extra battery and i'm thinking of getting through with the flash stock romafter i charge it a bit.. should i? and if yes, how? i've never done that (a guide would be great )
