Recovery mode dont work and alway get factory reset - LG Optimus Black

Hi,
I installed v30b for test but now i want to go back on cm10. I flashed a stock v20 with cwm with smartflash and i was able to boot in recovery. I tested to load my v20 rom but that alway come back to recovery, impossible to load my v20 rom. So, i tried to install cm10 and all was ok. But when i try to go in recovery mode, the phone restart without going into it and do a factory reset.
Now each time im trying to go in recovery mode, cm10 do a factory reset
What i can do for resolve this problem?

Flash cwm with rom manager
Sent from my phone powered by cm10, Big thanks to RC

Rom manager said im on 5.0.2.6. So i can only install the version 6 of cwm but it dont work(cant mount sd card)
So its impossible to install again 5.0.2.6 by rom manager. Because rom manager dont show old cwm version like before
Its very strange because before my v20cwm rom worked. Now i got boot loop in recovery mode. And if i install cm10, its impossible to go in recovery without factory reset
I tried to flash cwm with PC and i alway get "access denied" (debug on, mass storage off)

Oh yes i got it from ZEUS rom. Flashed cwm from UPK kit pack
thx!

[Q] rom manager recovery mode

Hi guys,
posting here as i've tried searching and nothing comes up (anything that does has out dated download links or just doesnt apply)
Problem: after rooting my phone when i try to use rom manager, nothing happens. I've bout CWM touch, I've downloaded the normal CWM but when i try to either load cyanogen from the zip on my sd card it does nothing, it prompts me to back up, wipe etc but then when it says it will boot to recovery nothing happens. Also tried other apps to reboot and none of them work
any advice on this?
I've seen a cmd prompt set of instructions for Superoneclick, but im lost as to the getting to the directory through cmd tool.
any help would be greatly appreciated
phone specs
Android version 2.3.4
XMM6160
kernel: 2.6.35
build #: GRJ22
Software version: V20b
rooted: yes
Hi , if you have CWM touch, install QtADB on your computer => http://qtadb.wordpress.com/download/
reboot recovery from menu
or install android sdk and in a command prompt : adb reboot recovery
or at reboot OB, press G-key
Did you flashed recovery? First option in rom manager.
Trolling in the deep
yep clicked the first option, the prompt for the device comes up, i hit it, then the bar loads... then "succes".
then when i try to install from SD card nothing happens
Thankyou YkZ_1967 !!! However I installed qtADB and got reboot recovery, but it just reset the phone. Any ideas?

that's depend what you want to do, if you install custom rom, reboot in recovery, wipe data/cache / dalvik , then install zip from sdcard and choose your rom, then after success flash, reboot now.
I want to install cyanogen but when i try to load from sd card in rom manager it wont go into boot recovery.
when i managed to get it to boot recovery in the way you suggested it only reset the phone.
I feel like i'm missing something, did not think it would be this difficult

That means actually no cwm recovery installed yet so it will reset your phone everytime you want to enter recovery mode. This is the best thing you should do : reroot your phone like in this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487105. It will automatically installing cwm recovery touch. After that, you can go to recovery mode by using quick boot (download it from playstore). Therefor, you can start flashing roms, but remember don't use rom manager, coz it wont detect your cwm recovery touch and forcing you to flash the non-touch cwm recovery.

This is the root method I recommend : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22304591&postcount=91.

follow the method with smartflashtools and v20.x patched with cwm touch by SnegovikRZN , then you have OB rooted with CWM Touch, you will be able to install CM7 and unbrick your phone.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Got it to work that way all i had to do was flash that then clear data/wipe cache/wipe dalvik and then load from sd card and it works! very happy now
how can I boot into recovery , from a turned off phone

after you try to install zip from SD card and fails, check to see if it shows: error can't mount /sdcard. or something like that. ???
if it syas so. try a different recovery like TWRP, i was having a problem, similar to what you describe, an hour ago while rooting and flashing my mother's in law OB, i flashed the CWMT recovery and for some reason it couldn't load the ZIP from SD and it showed this error, so i flashed TWRP recovery and then it was fine, i manage to flash marvel rom and all was good.
hope it helps.

you are right, but i had a problem, the CWM was flash and ob went into CWM recovery mode, but for some reason it stated an error that it cannot mount /sdcard, so i tried via recovery menu to mount sd card, didnt work, then i tried again to flash a different version of CWM, same error, then i went and flshed TWRP and it worked.
i wonder if its a specific OB bug, bcoz this problem happen on my mother in law OB and on my OB it was rooting and flashing just fine, exactly like the guide.

problem flashing cm7

hi,
i tried to flash the latets stable cm7 rom today.
my phone showed the cyanogenmod logo but than started rebooting. i tried to go back to stock via odin but accidently flashed only a kernel (semaphore) and my recovery menu was messed up afterwards.
i fixed my mistake and installed stock rom, than the semaphore kernel and reflashed clockworkmod recovery.
i downloaded an miui rom and tried to install it but it showed me again the cyanogenmod logo (even though i erased the file) and started rebooting again.
is there a way to install the miui rom or any other rom without recovery - maybe only via odin
thanks for your help
Hi
Remove SD card
Enter o install new CWM with Odin
Make three wipes Data Cache Y Dalvik and in mount/storage.....format system
Install rom from SD Card
Did you enabled the USB debugging mode or rooted your phone post using Odin.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
i think usb debugging was off.
i dont know how to install cwm with odin. do i need to insert the file to the pda and flash like you flash a kernel?
edit: the kernel i flashed on my device came with cwm, so is it ok or do i need to reflash cwm seperatelly?
anyone?

How to install CWM recovery

Friends.
I recently installed fde rom having cwm recovery version 3.0.2. When I tried to return to gdx 28b it gave me an error and I accepted roms option of restoring recovery and could boot to gdx. But now the issue is I don't find cwm recovery when I reboot. How do I reinstall cwm recovery without going back to stock rom?

Can you boot in ROM? If so, boot in Fde, grab x8toolbox, plug phone in pc, enable usb debugging, and install CWM or FreeXperia recovery. If you can't boot into Rom, then shut your phone off. Turn it on again, press the screen repedeatly. If CWM doesn't show up, turn your phone off again, start it, and press&hold the volume down button until FreeXperia recovery shows up. If nothing shows up, flashtool is there for flashing ftf of stock rom.

Press thanks if i helped
It is clasic problem of stock kernel. There is no way without re flashing with flashtool .
Solved. After trying many things, went back to stock and repeated everything till gdx28.
CWM for X8 Stock rom only, I meant as ur Original recovery u can't use CWM, only can XRecovery.....
I Saw that from web and I didn't believe it that time, so i installed CWM on a custom rom then it stucked at SE Logo.....
u only can use CWM come with custom roms, but some roms don't work it

For the future:
Philz kernel is used for TouchWiz ROM's (based off what samsung gives us). You flashed a TW kernel onto a CM 10.1 ROM. If you still want to try out CM, then boot into recovery, do a full wipe, flash CM and gapps. After that is done perform a data wipe (factory reset) through recovery

ROM unable to install

This is my second attempt to install custom ROM and I failed... I did everything step by step and it doesn't work. Or it doesnt boot at all or it craches in recovery mode while installing update.
This time i used some nightly unofficial and it stoped installing in recovery :S This is so annoyng
I downloaded stock lastest from code support for my Samsung S5830 because obviously there is non stable version of custom ROM right now.
I do not advise to go over Android 2.3.6 for S5830 or you will burn down your phone system...

Rooted phone with SuperOneClick successfully
downloaded CWM recovery, custom ROM, google apps and newcamera.apk
puted in SD
entered recovery mode, hard reset options (wipe data + catche)
installed zip from SD (CWM recovery)
rebooted recovery
installation of custom ROM stoped with error code (7)
from there i wouldnt be able to boot system
then i used code support and downloaded firmware flash files for S5830
odin installed it but also wont boot up the phone
then i pissed off and took old polish firmware installed with odin, after that did hard reset and now phone is working on 2.3.6

Ok now you are unrooted on your new polish right. So now root it with UniversalGingerbreadroot.zip (google it.) Flash an older version of CWM(5.0) through the stock recovery. Finally install a stable custom rom initially do not go for CM roms as for testing try some other stock based rom and if successful you can advance to CWM.
All the best.

Here you'll find ROOT and CWM files to get ready your Ace, than you'll be able to install Customs STOCK Roms, CM7.x, CM9.x, CM10.x
Read carefully the threads in GT-S5830 Android Development section and follow the dev's instructions
PS: To get CM11.x you'll need to flash CWM6.x or TWRP
