Hey, I know there is an android project out there for the Raspberry Pi. I haven't heard much of it lately, and am not sure of the status. I wasn't able to find a guide at all for porting Android to the pi. I'm wondering if any devs might be willing to help collaborate so that we could get a guide to port android to the pi. I think it would be a great project for newer developers who are trying to learn about android and how to port to a completely new device.

There are many people still working to port Android to the RPi including an official effort by Broadcom. An early unofficial alph build by the RPi community called Razdroid is available you can download that image here (http://rosefire.us/~razdroid/aaa801/Gingerbread+EthernetManager.7z). It is based on gingerbread CM 7.2.

Technically there is: running a chrooted Linux environment (most likely Ubuntu) on the tablet and accessing it trough VNC. That will sound a little difficult to handle (maybe use a mouse and a keyboard?), but that's the only way possibile as now.
Ciuffy's SM-G900F CM 12.1 spirit hath marked this way.

You can't run Android Studio on Android, but you can use an app called AIDE. You can build complete, functioning Android apps with it. Support is iffy, but it's worth the ten bucks to be able to develop anywhere.

I need a tutorial
I wonder how many people need this feature indeed?
This os is best for Android phones
If you look at the sources they are not for hdpi devices therfore no development atleast for now as i see it. I also want to see something different from aosp ROMs.
Stock rom modified to xperia ui would be cool too.
For our device it looks aosp ROMs is what senior devs prefer.
Why any developer not work in miui ROM I know your answer but miui7 is good for Android phones
me too waiting for miui....some replied that i should bought xiomi phones rather than Android one..and some says that miui v7 cant be portable to our device cause of hdpi...but tgen why no devs are interested to port the miui v6???its already ported for our chipset just have to make it work for android one..... http://www.mtkroms.com/2015/03/442-miui-v6-for-mtk-6582.html
Mods please move this thread to appropriate section
If you like it so much, then why don't you compile it? Devs are tired of requests for MIUI. THEY DON'T WANT TO DO IT.
Hey guys, if anyone is interested in porting miui 6, then contact me on fb, as I don't have enough bandwidth to download the ROM, I can guide you all through the way, all I need is a guy (or even a girl ) who has some at least basic knowledge & is ready to waste some time with me :v (as porting can't always be successful)...

Dear developers,
first of all I would like to thank you all for your great work and keeping our Sony Xperia ZR alive.
A few weeks ago I came across the terrific project maru os. So far it only exist for a few devices but it looks very promising. It literally turns the phone into a desktop PC while having android and Linux running on it.
I am not a programmer myself and sadly are not able to offer any help but it would be great if somebody with the skills and experience would feel encouraged to port maru os to the ZR. As far as I know the ZR is capable of mhl and therefore would be a great candidate for maru os.
At the moment somebody is working on the sony Xperia z3. Maybe it could be helpful for the development.
As I am a new member I actually can't post links to the project page, github repository or some great YouTube videos. But I suppose a search engine of your choice will help you
Looking forward for some thoughts and ideas
What does the community think? Would Maru OS be something you would be personally interested?
I wrote a PM to Daedroza and he seemed generally interested in the project but made at the same time clear that he is at the moment occupied with lineage 14.1. He might be able to port maru os in a few months.
Happy to see some thoughts of other ZR users.

Dear folks,
one very talented dev of Maru os is asking at the moment the community to which device he shall port next (he ported already to the G4 and HTC 10). There might be a chance that if enough ZR users upvote our device we might see it come alive.
Please show your interest in this thread:

Thanks and have a nice day
I see it is supported in official LOS builds too , and this is great .
My question is if you flash Lineage OS 14.1 ( https://download.lineageos.org/dogo ) into your Xperia ZR , does MHL cable works to display over HDMI ?
In another words , have you tested that using Lineage OS , you have image over HDMI ?

As far as I am concerned mhl is only working in the stock ROM. Another ZR user reported the non working mhl as well in the lineage 14.1 thread.
Only for your information, as this thread looks very lonely I just got in the last hour some more replies from people who are ready to test
Hello,
It would appear that there is a great deal of interest in getting Sailfish OS to run on OnePlus Devices.
There is discussion of a project taking place over at Maemo but it was suggested that this be cross-posted to XDA for more exposure.
This OS has already been successfully ported to the OP1 and the OPX, there is also a port in progress for the OP2.
I know there are many talented devs here and we could really use some assistance as the project is moving pretty slow.
Github with current state of project: github(DOT)com/Oneplus3-Sailors
I will post more info/additional links when I reach my 10 post count.
I guess we still need to wait till the Xperia X's sailfish reached stable phase.
I do want to see sailfish os port at our device but the problem is the lacking of number of developers working on the port. I wish u luck there.
Best of luck, will definitely try if port is available for op3
I am really dumb, but why are you using Cyanogen Mod repos instead of Lineage ones? Those ones haven't been updated in months.
Definitely interested in this. Sailfish OS looks quite promising and I love the meego software on my N9.
Did I hear Sailfish? I'm in!
insha'Allah we could have a port of SailFish OS. I would be very happy too. Thanks for such good news
Sent from my OnePlus 3 using XDA Labs
Thanks for your job.

Bro its not possible on this phone as the kernel source has not been released by xiaomi yet.
Xiaomi uses GPL like it's toilet paper. Because of this, almost one year after the device's release we don't have source code available yet. Fortunately available custom Android-based ROMs work because the chipset is kinda popular, but there's no WIP for a Sailfish OS port.
