hey guys, well i was changing the OS of my milestone, and after the update the imei number vanished, it shows "0000000" , and without an imei number i cant get signal , the phone works for all the other stuff like wifi, etc, but i cant get or do calls and text...
Can anyone help me with a way to fix my imei number?
It happens when someone update to a different rom and didn't wipe data before the update.
Save all your important stuff, do a data/cache/dalvik wipe from OR than flash the new rom.
i already did it, i did a lot of wipes, tried other roms, i even tried to flash the original rom with the sbf archive using the motorola oficial program " that i dont remember the name now"

Hi
I have tried to update my i9000 running under Froyo to JB yesterday.
First, i installed GB 2.3.6 as requested, rooted it and then installed a custom rom 4.2.1
Since then, I can't receive any call, Phone app keep on not responding. i can call, I can send SMS or use 3G connection.
I Tried to flash 2 different modem but no luck ...
Any idea how to solve that ?
Thanks a lot
anyone plz I m desperate ...
was icubse
Check your emei - you propably lost it. If you have service imei and don't have /efs backup you need to flash 3-file ROM with pit and re-partition to get it back. Then root, make /efs backup (for example with sgs unlock app) and once again flash JB.
edit:
I didnt get that your mobile data works - so no imei problem.
one more idea - did you make factory format with code from dialer (reset to factory settings and sd-card format) after upgrade from Froyo to GB? If you didn't that could be reason of your problem. Or make factory reset now and check if it helps.
Hello,
I've got a Galaxy Note, which a mate gave to me, because he has the new Note 2 now.
He said that he has some network problems (he has two times vodafone.cz), but didn't say anything in detail. So I thought the problem would be solved with flashing another rom, like CM 9.1. He already had the stock 4.0.4 and I read that I have to flash back to GB before flashing to CM 9.1.
At first I made a backup of the efs folder with kTool. After that I flashed the LC1 version of GB (3 parts, open Europe) but with this flashing process, I lost my IMEI ! So I wanted to restore the efs folder with kTool again, but it didn't work for me, I still had no IMEI.
I thought that the structure of the efs folder could have changed from 3.6 to 4.0.4 and that this would be the reason why I can't restore the efs folder. Therefore I flashed back to a Samsung stock rom of Android 4.0.4 (N7000XXLRG_N7000DBTLRG_DBT).
And then the surprise: I had my IMEI back, without restoring the efs folder!
This just was the background. Now to my problem: I still can't connect to the mobile network. In the notification bar is written "emergency calls only" (I don't know if it is translated on the right way, because I'm from germany). If I go to the network settings and search for mobile networks, I find all the networks I reach in my area, o2-de as well, which is my favourite network. But if I want to register to the network, it takes a while and then it says: Registration failed. And after that, I also can't make emergency calls, there is written "No service"
All in all my question is: Why am I able to find networks, but can't register to my one? I also tested it with other SIM-cards from other providers, but it still does not work..
I hope anyone of you has a solution for my issue.
greetings
Senfy
Edit: My IMEI begins with 359, so it should not be a developer IMEI
May be it has network lock. Have you tried apps like galaxy s unlock from the play store.
I tested it now, but everytime I want to unlock my phone, I loose my IMEI and I have to restore the efs folder..
But if I open Galaxsim Unlock, it says my device isn't locked.. so this seems to be not the solution..
Now I flashed to CM 9.1 with the hope to solve this problem.. CM 9.1 works, but I still can not register to my network... has anyone another idea how to solve this problem ??
Are you check an eyes in code or test menu ?
Go in dialer and tape
*#0011#
Then use menu and back in menu to come on general and check in different menu(debug)
I'm sorry I don't understand you. If I dial this code nothing happens. I also searched for this code (google) but without any result.
maybe you could post a link with an exact description how to do what you mean..
But thanks for your effort.
Now I wanted to flash another modem.. but everytime I want to flash it, I lose my IMEI !
The only way to get my IMEI back is to flash back to N7000XXLRG_N7000DBTLRG_DBT ...
I don't know what to do next.. I would be glad if someone could help me..
Edit: What I forgot to tell you: The reception of emergency calls goes up and down over the time.. maybe someone of you can conclude anything out of this information..
Doesn't anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?
how are you flashing the modem? tried mobile odin?
I flashed the whole GB (3 parts) with PC Odin and the actuall modem with mobile Odin but with no success..
Where is da solution 2 no network after update

Hello, I lost IMEI data from my i9305 :\
Trying to fix it whole day, but I give up now, im done.
I tried several guides (sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15196) but nothing helps.
Basicly biggest problem I face is that when I dial to *#7284# it shows "Network is not avilable" so nothing happens, or with another method with removing EFS folder, after backuping it at SDcard1 I have no .nv_data file to modify it and fix everything.
I use SentinelROM v6.0, I tried installing some modified modems, but it was retarded from me. I installed one from orginal firmware today meanwhile I was trying to fix IMEI :\
Can anyone help me?
@edit
I dont have backup. Imei and baseband - unknown ;(
I also would like to add that I know my imei (have it written down :3), but can I somehow rebuild efs based on it :3?
I feel so lucky, I flashed orginal firmware through odin and everything is fine now I just need to upload 4.4 again, and make backup for future!
That was my lesson :3 Thread can be closed.
Hi, after flash a rom, my mi3 doesn't detect baseband and my imei invalid. I tried to flash miui using fastboot (clear cache, data, everything using MI Recovery. Flashed dev global, stable and local roms) but still not fixed. I also tried using QPST but the memory dump is too small so I stopped. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks
Do you have a backup ROM using CWM? Because I had this problem before but it was fixed by restoring my previous CWM back up.
Have you seen the thread on MIUI.com about fixing IMEI on Mi3?

Ty for reply. I have done that many times but it seems that my nvram is corrupted. I dont know how but all the settings and configurations are empty including imei number. I flashed more than 10 times stock rom with different method and my baseband is back. Still the imei is missing. Then, I try to fix the imei by looking at the nvram memory dump. I injected my old imei (from mi3 service card) then the imei is back. Somehow, still no services.
I think that my nvram is badly corrupted due to random error in flashing. This is my first time having this issue because other phone (Sony Xperia) i have can easily fixed by flashing the stock rom. If only I have the hex file to compare. By the way, the memory dump is about 150kb. Too small isn't it?
Hmmm. . . . . Seems you need a really hard flash on that. You'll need to go to a service center for that.
try wiping cache data and then flash rom.
Hi all,
I'm having a galaxy S GT-i9000 on which SIM card was not recognized anymore a few weeks ago, with no evident reason. It was like if nv_data.bin was corrupted.
I have tried with another SIM card but with no success.
I have tried to reinstall original ROM SFR Vodafone BUJVI but problem was the same.
I have installed Generic ROM I9000XXJVS_CL565837_REV03; Again same problem.
Today the situation is :
*#06# gives no IMEI at all
*#1234# says :
PDA : I9000XXJCVS
PHONE : unknown
CSC : I9000OXAJCVS
There is no nv-data.bin and no nv_data.md5 under /efs (I have no backup, I may have lost my backup during a re-partition).
The are so many threads on xda forum and so many cases that it's quite difficult for me to select the good ones in a way to repair my phone.
Can you give me advice ?
I still have the box of the phone where IMEI is written. Is it possible to download a "generic" nv_data.bin and write IMEI inside with HEXA editor or something like this ?
Do have I to download another ROM ?
Thank you very much
Thierry
I had faced similar issues earlier, and after some research I found that it is illegal to edit IMEI numbers - and thus not easy to do via software.
When installing any ROM, the system reads IMEI number from the underlying hardware and stores it in some files under /efs tree. When several factory resets didn't solve the problem, I tried flashing a new ROM (obviously wiping out system, cache, and dalvik cache before flashing).
That solved my problem, and I am using Marshmallow Android 6.0.1 for Galaxy S without any issues now!
