I am probably going to have to turn off the TV soon as people start asking "Why?". What drove him to this? crap. He was not firing on all cylinders. That's why.
Then will come the gun control lobby.

Very upsetting!
It's a bit tough to try and enjoy a day that starts with news like this.
May those who have suffered such a loss find some small comfort in the coming days.

We should ban food in general then every potential gun owner. Legal or not and we will be left with a perfect world without gun owners or future gun owners

Like the title states... I'm pre-enlisting into the Marine Corps next summer, and I've recently gotten into XDA. I figured I'd try to find anyone else on this Forum in/joining the Military.
I almost signed up to the British Army when i was 16 and have always regretted not following through with it. In my work i have a lot of colleagues who are ex-military and they're all great guys. Every one of them deserve the utmost respect for serving their country.
If it's what you want to do, don't let anything stand in your way! Keep us updated with your news and hopefully in future you can tell us stories about your Boot-Camp and Tours of duty!

anyway, i got counltess recruitment calls when i graduated from high school, said no, and they wouldn't take me anyway due to my ADHD and asbergers (believe me, i tried to sign up)

Waaay too old now!
I'm sitting next to a retired Ghurka atm and those guys are fearless. Most of them serve for 20 years or more and have seen combat all over the world. One of them, who is a serving soldier, is currently under investigation for cutting the head off a Taliban fighter.
Who needs guns!

UK does, I think its 16 or 18, 16 is when you can live on your own, married, etc. So I'm going with 16

My brother and grandfathers were in the USAF and the ARMY. I can't go in because of to many medical conditions. I respect every military member, op, thank you for the enlistment. Take care of your self.

When the military are used to police the civilians in their own country you know that something is wrong! Any soldier that raises a weapon to one of their own deserves everything that IS coming to them!

I was born in the military. My mom was in the Army and had me right before her Unit was deployed to Grenada or Panama or some place back then. She had the choice of signing me over to the custody of the US or get out of the military. My mom was born in the military, too. On one of the Naval bases in Hawaii. My grandpa was in the Marines. I got accepted in high school but backed out when a mess of things happened and none of my family wanted me to enlist, but rather go in after collage. Got rejected when I was 23 for enlistment and again when I was 25. Too much trouble making when I was a kid. Maybe we'll get in another world war and open the draft again. I'll join then, they won't reject me then.
Im thinking of enlisting in the airforce.....any thoughts?

I embrace the child within me.. My wife tells me "When are you going to grow up?"
ps. Everything went without a hitch. I just told my son girls like details, you take care of the details, little things, and they will notice you. He took like a fish to water. He behaved like a gentleman and his date had a good time as well. Afterward, I took them to Starbucks and they were very happy. I'm very proud of my kid

After spending years targeting illegal aliens, the Grand Canyon State is turning its sights on obnoxious Internet users (commonly called 'trolls'). A new update to the state's telecommunications harassment bill could make the practice of harassing people online illegal.
Arizona House Bill 2549 has already passed both of the state's legislative bodies and is currently sitting on the desk of Governor Jan Brewer. While there's a lot in there that doesn't concern trolling, here's the line that has people worried:
It is unlawful for any person, with intent to terrify, intimidate, threaten, harass, annoy or offend, to use ANY ELECTRONIC OR DIGITAL DEVICE and use any obscene, lewd or profane language or suggest any lewd or lascivious act, or threaten to inflict physical harm to the person or property of any person.
Violators could be charged with a Class 1 misdemeanor and face up to 6 months in jail. If electronic devices are used to stalk someone, the charges then become a Class 3 felony, with penalties ranging from a minimum sentence of two and a half years in jail for non-dangerous offenders with no prior record to 25 years.
At the heart of the bill is an anti-bullying agenda. Cyber-bullying has been on the rise in recent years and has been in the news lately. A 2010 report in The New York Times found that one of out five middle-school students said they had been victims of cyberbullying.
Despite its good intentions, the Arizona law is already being called "overly broad" by critics. By using vague terms like "annoy" and "offend," it could easily encompass Internet forums or even comments like the ones found at the end of this story.
Free speech groups say they don't believe the law would ever stand up to court scrutiny if Gov. Brewer does, in fact, sign it. And many have pointed out the flaws in the bill to the governor herself.
"Government may criminalize speech that rises to the level of harassment and many states have laws that do so, but this legislation takes a law meant to address irritating phone calls and applies it to communication on web sites, blogs, listserves and other Internet communication," Media Coalition wrote in a letter last week.

I find it all a very peculiar phenomenon. Needless to say i would not be seen dead in any establishment where you might find people behaving in such a ridiculous fashion. (With the exception of my grave whereby people will probably dance upon it!)

I find it all a very peculiar phenomenon. Needless to say i would not be seen dead in any establishment where you might find people behaving in such a ridiculous fashion. (With the exception of my grave whereby people will probably dance upon it!)

as a drummer, I strongly agree. I can play any (reasonable) beat known to man, but I can't dance worth a crap.
I occasionally tap my foot and move my head very slightly to music.
As for Gangnam Style, meh. Each to their own.

Funny you should say that actually. Not because of Parkinsons or DTs, but because I don't understand what's even meant to be funny about Gangnam Style. I was going to see my doctor about a bad case of solitude and loneliness. Either that or superiority. Not sure

So, in a round about way, we have another reason why people shouldn't dance. Dancing directly causes STD's. Remember kids, just say NO to dancing! :silly:

Haven't smoked a cigarette since Tuesday and here is how.
My wife and I both started vaping.
We have a local store here.

We got the Ego Twist system.
Very pleasant taste and smell, no tobacco unless you choose a tobacco line.
Can choose many flavors and nicotine levels all the way to no nicotine.
Already starting to breath better and smell and taste more.
Can even mix flavors to suit your taste.
I am vaping chocolate and coffee right now.
Thought I would share in case anyone else is trying to quit.
Working well for us.

It is not meant as an advertisement.
It is meant to help smokers stop smoking.
It is not a competitor or anything like that.
I for one know how hard it is to stop smoking so I posted this to give hope to others facing the same issues.
If the administration feels it is a violation to post this they can let me know.
I am not affiliated with this company in anyway.
It is just a local company I found here and so far it works for me.
I posted only as encouragement.

Indeed I am just trying share my experience to help others get on the way to a better, quality life.
This stuff really works.
I am happy and so are my kids.
No smelly clothes, no danger of catching anything on fire.
My kids are happy to know we will live longer with out cigarettes.

You didn't stop smoking. You just changed the way you supply your body with nicotine. Please come back when you find a way to quit smoking overnight.
The best method for quiting is to just quit. I smoked for 20yrs and nothing ekse worked. Cold turket. Their is no other substitute.

I've done that. Told my self I'm not smoking anymore. 1 week later I start smoking again.
We are not using tobacco at all.
The nicotine levels in our setups is bare minimum at 9.
In a couple weeks we will drop all nicotine and try just vaping for a few.
So we are inhaling mostly vapor and no second hand smoke.
No smoke at all for that matter.

By that statement someone chewing nicorette gum or using a patch would still be a smoker.
Understand your statement but it isn't accurate.
If you have never tried vaping, it may work for you.
Started smoking after my first marriage went down the drain.
Been smoking ever since and this seems to be working.
So far I have not even craved a regular cigarette after that first day.
Vaping helps drop nicotine dependence by letting you lower the amount slowly down to 0.
It also helps because if you need the hand movement like many smokers do, this allows that while removing all the harmful tar and other things from your daily life.

I worded that wrong. I meant you are still a nicotine addict. Nicorette and patches don't help as much because they still provide your body with the cancer causing chemicals, which is what the body craves. So do eCigs.
This thread was meant to be helpful and inspirational.
Everyone coming in here to flame or troll can leave.
If you can't post anything besides negative statements then why post here at all?
