S-Pen and the Settings - Galaxy Note II Accessories

hi guys i have a Question
How can I calibrate my S-pen, can i test the settings of S-pen through a app or something, and which sensitivity are better is???

http://phandroid.com/2012/12/05/how-to-adjust-s-pen/
here you go...
unfortunately I dont know of any apps you can test it with... you can test it with s-note though.

You might look at the "hidden" diagnostics test on your phone by dialing *#0*#. There's a Wacom submenu. It's already built in and no root required

Does anyone "write" on their Note?

Just thought I would ask the question.
Do people use their Note to draw or write?
If you write do you use a specific software or the samsung installed keypad?
Just curious to hear some input.
I use an application called graffiti pro.

+1..I do the same during meetings..at least its not too obvious that I am playing with the phone instead of concentrating in the meeting

i find it difficult and disappointing to take notes in classes or in meetings using S-memo app as touching the menu and/or back button happens almost everytime unless im extra carefull and focusing not to touch them , which in one way or another , counters the idea note taking freely...
dont get me wrong , this device is awesome , and i love it , but software wise its.......meh . it only lacks a few simple points and touches on the main apps it was promoted with... (simple palm rejection!? , or rejection of finger touches with the S-pen is active in the screen!? ,2 way automatic syncing or backup!? )
i know there r some market apps that can do that , but why Samsung just couldn't just do it with the bundled s-memo app ??? its not only about sketching and pressure sensitive points , those worth nothing as a "Note" taking device in my opinion.
Why not try FreeNote from Android Market instead of S-Memo? Freenote seems to be a bigger brother of S-Memo and it can easily "share" (which means, export) its notes to any app that can accept graphic files. I hope FreeNote keeps evolving, as it seems to have great potential!
Quite handy when getting a phone number on the fly or anything in that manner. I also write my grocery lists in here. And I'm using it quite often right now because of the Draw Something game.
Skitch + evernote combo works quite well for me
loads
I do a lot now. I also use skitch as I have everything in evernote.
The feel for me is that it is 'natural' to lift the Note and write a note . It looks and feels just like a pocket notepad. My writing is probably not as good as pen & paper, but with some effort it is passable.
The alternatives are tedious and intrusive. I either hold it two-handed and thumb-type, use swype, or have a BT keyboard. All are OK, but for some reason it is harder to concentrate on other people when typing.
In a meeting or conversation, the natural note-taking wins every time, as it is less intrusive and allows you to focus more on the people you are talking to, I find. YMMV.

Keep digitiser on for gestures?

Hi. I'm new to Xposed. I was wondering whether there was a module that would allow the digitiser to be kept on (even while screen is off) to accept gestures (like skip forward/backward, toggle flashlight etc). Apparently CyanogenMod on the OnePlus One does this and also the LG G3 for the double-tap feature.
If it's possible on a rom it should be possible in xposed. Xposed is very, very powerful and there is a reason it's called "xposed", as in the meaning to expose or make vulnerable, to show inner secrets.
As for whether such a mod exists right now, probably not. But that doesn't mean other xposed mods don't have such features. It probably depends on the make and model of your device.

Hi. Thanks for the information. In my case it's the Samsung S5 phone and the Tesco Hudl 2. I'll try asking on their respective forums. Thanks again.
ME too
i am also waiting for such a xposed module. most of the devs tell its hardware feature all. or some tell its processor feature. and most of the people tell its a kernal fuction.

Is indeed a kernel feature!
No, it's a hardware feature. If it is not implemented in hardware, it will require constant active mode.
Double tap 2 awake is hardware and software funkcion you need to have this feature implemented in kernel and you need to have screen with digi that can use this software perfect egzample xperia z1 and z1compact they have other screens and z1 can handle this feature and z1c can't have it because of hardware limitation

Any way to get Air View Back?

The title pretty much says it all, it was my favorite feature and now it's gone! Can we maybe pull it from an S5 and get it on this phone?
+1. I miss that feature from my last Samsung also
Not sure how it works but it should go like decompile the apps, edit the codes integrating it with the sensor, decompile the apps but it's not an easy metohd

Note8 camera voice control

Hi, everyone
With my S7 Edge I have used the voice control feature when taking pictures all the time - works like a charm, helps avoid camera shake and is especially useful, when your other hand is holding an umbrella. So I activated this feature in my new Note8 as well - and was highly disappointed. Of the four commands offered, the "shoot" doesn't work at all, the other three (capture, cheese and smile) work just sporadically. I tested the same feature with "German" as system language: here the shortest option, i.e. "Klick" gets no response, the "Aufnahme" works with ca 50% reliability. However, 100% reliabilty with *all* commands on my S7E.
Can anyone here verify this nuisance? Is it a bug, or a particularity of my special phone?
Entering the above mentioned words in e.g. S-Note "voice to text" works perfectly, so it cannot be a misfunction of the microphone.
I would love so much to get it to work like it does on the S7E!!

Mine too. For now, if you really need to take a selfie, you could use Bixby. I guess
I founded when the Bixby voice is active the camera voice doesn't work, I don't know why but together they don't work.

That's a bug!
How can I stop using Bixby.. until the bug is fixed.
How can I disconnect Bixby... until the bug is fixed? I need the voice option more to take pictures. It was one one the thing I loved about my Note 5 and was thrilled it was available in Note 8 until I setup Bixby. There are 4 Bixby's listed in the Setting: App section. What about Bixby Vision?
I'd like some feedback before I screw up my system.
Please advice.
Just disable Bixby in the Settings Menu

Any way to set up custom S Pen Remote shortcuts?

It would be a great thing to be able to set up S Pen shortcuts on a per app basis for custom apps. Is there any way to do that?
I don't think so. Samsung hasn't opened the API yet for developers - you'll have to wait for that.
I see, makes sense. Hope they open it up soon!
