the lock is not in the bootloader, but only the check for a lock is. so nomatter which bootloader, you will probably get a locked bootup or unlocked depending on model.
anyways how will you compare that bootloader? i believe only wkpark extracted the bootloader from official distribution kdz file, no developer kdz exists so you can compare, and i believe bootloader allocation is not found within mmcblk0 area, so it will be hard to compare the memory.
I was thinking looking at the assembly of both and seeing what is different. It was just a suggestion that wouldn't work hahha. What im kind of looking for at the moment is a guide on 2nd init. (I cant figure out how to get it to boot.etc, i know its something to do with the DRM, i basically dont know where to get started.) other than 2nd init i am also looking at a custom stock rom....

it means bootloader is completely issolated from the system itself
and the OS doesn't have access to bootloader or its info for that matter

can i dual boot 2 roms?
Yes and no. The closest thing to it is through an app called bootmanager that installs roms on your SD card which doesn't take long to switch between roms. But you can't truly dual boot off the phones internal storage.

Our device is not supported.
It won't help with trying to get the KU900 V30 to work on our P970 as it doesn't boot. I am not sure how they do this from what I can tell they boot much later by mounting their file image then booting from that. The problem we are facing happens before that, but it does look interesting.
EDIT: Those sizes you are looking for can very easily be found using any terminal emulator or adb shell.

Just the kernel won't help. We need to alter stuff before the kernel gets initialized and if we make a mistake then we might lose the ability to go into SW Update mode and we can't risk that.
We can easily re-flash kernels as is so that's not the problem.

Look at this, is similar.
I invite you to test the tool which downloads the original KDZ file to your phone P880. Especially those who have the DEVELOPER VERSION.:fingers-crossed:
How to use?
Well, In the top field, put the model in this case, LGP880.
In the field below, enter the number of the IMEI (This code is located behind the device, removing the battery you can see a white sticker with a number)
Whoever can download the KDZ, give an answer here. I have a device developer version, I and my colleague are testing whether there are differences between versions of files KDZ developer of the definitive versions.
Please DO NOT try flashing the rom until I can test it, my phone is already bricked, if it works for me, then I'll tell you.:good:

I'm not sure but, looks like the developer kdz is not available for download.
Maybe because it's a phone not suppose to be commercialized...
The best would be someone with a working developer phone, extract the firmware from the phone and make it available to others.
I tried everything but... looks like that "developer" is a cursed model.
I contacted LG Singapore stating that bought the device but was not able to update the device. Informed that the upgrade tool showed the error. I asked to check the IMEI of my device. Maybe they release the update, if this process succeeds, simply register the device by LG. I may be talking nonsense, but it never hurts to try.

The bootloader is only unlockable with Jelly Bean, ie. v20a/b/c. If you're still in a v10x, you need to update your phone's OS to JB before trying to unlock your bootloader. You can do it simply with the LG official tool.

But I'd like to change my ROM and after typing this *#*#7378423#*#*, i get bootloader unlock allowed: NO. Why? As it is factor unloked why can't I fastboot it?
By the way, I'm a completely noob at this and all I know I learned here at XDA.

For me I was curious to see if this is like the treble ROMs that are out. There are AOSP TREBLE ROMs out that function quite well. One of the advantages is that we have a choice not use Google apps/services with the TREBLE ROMs. Just like the old days. Most of the custom roms out now are loaded with gapps.
There's even AOSP based ROMs with gapps in this section that have a lot more customations.
It's really about choice.
