Best Stylus - Galaxy Note II Accessories

(searched and saw no thread on best stylus)
I'd prefer a full-sized stylus to use with my Note 2. I ordered the S-Pen with Eraser (ET-S200EBE) from Samsung thinking it would be full size. While bigger than the built-in stylus, it is far from full sized.
I see Wacom is coming out with the Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel in January. It looks good.
Any other thoughts on a full size stylus including eraser?

You might be hard pressed to find something with all the requirements you are looking for.
If i find anything I'll let you know. For now I'm going to subscribe to this thread.

The Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel was released a couple days ago. Anyone buy one? It's not clear from the description if it has an eraser.

I spoke with Wacom directly. They say that the implementation of the pen technology is slightly different, and that the Note II will not be compatible.
I'd love to hear from someone who's trying it anyway.

Wow -- why would they come out with a new product that doesn't work with the latest best-selling stylus-based device? I sure hope the rep was wrong.

I'm pretty sure the rep was wrong but I'll be able to confirm soon since mine has already shipped.

I do not believe one exists that uses the more precise technology used in devices like the Note series. Plenty exist for typical capacitive touch screens. Don't get one of those -- it will work, but will not be accurate enough for handwriting and drawing.

I went through two Spens w/eraser. Both did not work like the phones pen. I returned both to try the Spen with holder and it works GREAT! The pen with eraser would not draw a consistent line on the screen. After examining it against the phones pen you can see the tip is designed differently. I did try adjusting the potentiometer in the pen w/eraser with no success. The pen with holder is designed more like the phones pen and the holder actually feels better to hold and I like not having to flip the pen over to erase.
Get the S pen with holder.

Makes sense as the Note I had 64º of S-Pen sensitivity and the Note II rocks a 1024º of sensitivity.

It feels excellent in the hand. Nice weight. It writes exceptionally smooth. Feels like a real pen. The tip is much softer than the Spen's tip but it's still firm enough to be precise. Basically I used to fear my pen would scratch my screen but not with this one....its hard to explain.
I'm not sure how it would be with drawings since I don't use it for that.

Cool, any chance we could get a video of you scribbling on the Note 2 with it? Want to be sure this one works good, I've already been burned twice...

So - any recommendations or comparisons - Bamboo or Spen w/ Holder?
To the dude looking for the stylus with real ink as well - if you don't need spen for all tasks, the YESPEN -S1 plus on ebay is sick!!! I acknowledge 100% that it is nowhere near as good as the spen... 1 degree of pressure vs. 1024; bulbous head vs precise head; mushy vs. hard...
That said - it's good enough to write with on screen... simple figs are good enough... and it doesn't draw any power like the spen does... may want to consider the yespen-s1 plus as it has a shxit ton of extra features over the above.
Samsung has what looks like a full handed spen stylus with bluetooth headset hfp hsp built in. BUT $98 is the cheapest I can find it.
YesPen-S1 plus has the capacitive stylus; an ink pen; an sdhc usb memory stick built in; AND bluetooth hfp, hsp, a2dp, ?aptx? - it has an earpiece and a microphone built in, a speakerphone loudspeaker, and a 3.5mm headphone jack... it's basically - the sickest pen ever made (WISH IT HAD SPEN too and that it fit in our slot and charged via the EM wave induction).
Check it out - yespen s1-plus on ebay $59.
Had mine about a month and I'm soooo digging it though it is relative crap compared to the artistic precision of the spen.
Sometimes it has it's uses though.
If anyone else sees cool stylus tech - please post here, subscribing now, so I can get it.

Stylus?

I'd love to find a stylus to use with the sketchpad app. Works really well but hard to paint with my finger on this anyone know of there is one that works on the NC?
I see the targus one for iPad but I don't know if that works for this or not.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
The iPad is a capacitive screen meaning that it responds to objects that are electrically conductive as change in voltage that the screen can detect the location of. The Nook Color has the same type of screen, so any stylus or pen mod that works for an iPad should work for a Nook Color.
No guarantees of course since this is just off the top of my head but good luck and report back with your findings
I ordered a box wave stylus (as it has good reviews and was on sale for $10). I will report if it works well or not for the sketching app
I've had the boxwave for a few months for my ipad. I am not having much luck with it on the nook, but that could be due to having the anti-glare screen protector on.
Good luck!
I tried using my wife's Pogo stylus, but when trying to draw with it, its like the stylus will draw a dashed line in 1-2cm increments -- completely unusable. I ordered the Dagi P005 stylus in hope that its larger flat tip will provide usable results. I'll post up my impressions when it finally comes in.
Sent from my NookColor via the XDA app.
Follow up
So the boxwave stylus (I don't have a screen protector) worked pretty well. No real complaints. It isn't as easy as sketching with a pencil but I am overall decently happy with it.
However, I traded with a coworker and gained a Griffin GC16040 Stylus because he doesn't like it for his iPad. That draws pretty nice with the Autodesk app. I can get smooth lines (no hopping) and don't have to press super hard to get a result. I would definitely say that is the winner of the two. He said he got it off buy.com for $13 new with shipping.
I am going to snag a second.
Excellent! I'm glad to know I have options. I was going to be pretty disappointed if I couldn't find one that worked.

Ive been really curious about this as well.
Im interested in the amount of pressure that must be applied at the width of the mark it makes.
Anyway you can do some line tests and upload?
I wonder what inside makes one stylus better than another, it would be like one finger being better than the other.
Just received my Dagi stylus.... works splendidly. They sent both the P005B and a free P101 stylus - both of which work well. No stuttering. No dashed lines. No other nonsense. The Dagi has a nice 12mm transparent tip so you can see exactly where you're writing. I love it.
Also, while I cannot comment on every Wacom stylus, I can say my wife's did not work with the Nook. (As expected). Do they even make a capacitive stylus?
Sent from my NookColor via the XDA app.
Tim - Thanks for the feedback on the Dagi. Do you use a screen protector on your NC?
I can do pressure tests and get them uploaded this weekend. If I remember right from playing around it wasn't I just adjusted the pencil tips in the app. Which worked fine for me.
As for wacom no capacitive styluses.

I currently use one. I tried the Pogo stylus with and without one and only used the Dagi with one.

I bought a targus ipad stylus which from what i can tell is the same as the griffin but does not draw consistently at all. Has anyone else tried one? Also in general the touch screen seems to not work very well at the edges of the screen, is this a common problem?

Exogear car mount and replicas

So I've been looking at car mounts and the Exogear is the one I like, but I find it a bit expensive. I found plenty of replicas on Ebay such as:
Cheapest I found
Another cheap one.
Even there are differences between the replicas - the suction pad is different between these 2.
So do you think these are good enough? Comparable suction? Durable enough, so they don't break within a month?
What do you think?

For its price I am very pleased with it. It holds the phone securely and while it's a little shaky on a bumpy road I don't think that it will fall off the window.
I've tried to put it on different surfaces, but it will only stay on surfaces that are completely smooth. My dashboard wasn't, so it didn't attach well to it. Glass - no problem. It is very secure. Polished wooden furniture - no problem too.

You get what you pay for... you can do like me and buy about 5 or 6 different ones that are cheap and shake rattle and roll as you go down the road...
Or you can bite the bullet and pay ~$70 and get the best mount out there. ProClip
I got an exomount 1 off ebay
It's definitely one if the easiest mounts to insert and remove the phone.
Its great that I can use it with a case
My only complaint is it is a quite shaky and also the phone moves a little in the mount due to the narrow width of the clamp
I wouldn't trust a cheap holder to hold my expensive phone...
The iOttie mount is solid and WILL attach to irregular surfaces, like a textured dashboard. Mine came in today, and it is very sturdy, haven't got a chance to use it yet. Other folks here have confirmed that it sticks to dashboards with no problem, even if they aren't smooth.
Is it shaky because of the spring in the clamp maybe not song enough? Or something else
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
It bounces because the arm from base to ball joint is plastic and quite skinny so it's not real solid.

I ordered that one, I think same seller name miao miao.
The spen from outside looks 90% same as oem. Only the tip color the white a bit off not as clean as oem, like painted or something.
The second one is the samsung brand on the metal abit different, not in a bad way, just different if you compared side by side.
It is acts exactly like the oem. Where you press the button it acts differently than when you dont press, just like oem.
The problem is .... I cant use it.
It's over sensitive, the screen reacted when the tip is a quarter inch away, and theres no way to adjust the sensitivity since there is no potentiometer inside that we can turn it to adjust like the oem.
Not sure I got the defective one or all like that, but the seller is sending a replacement that I havent got yet.

Maybe I'm too anal, but it's a problem for me, I flip the homescreen to the right, a slight movement on air makes it moves back to left. On note, I draw something, takes the spen off the screen, and its still drawing something while hovering.
My OEM spen, it only works when it touch the screen, and I expect no less than that.
If it truly works like the OEM there should be a way to adjust the knock off spen. There are multiple posts about the adjustments.

Thanks for replying mate. Ive done a bit of a look around the internets and there seems to be mixed opinions about whether the wacom styles work or not. Given apparently the pen and the screen is made by Wacom I should be able to find one that does. What I would really like is a high end pen which fits in the phone.
I'm looking for a decent and large Spen too.

Im looking for an aftermarket one that has a real ink pen on the end. Has anyone seen one?
I think most active wacom styluses will work, I'm using one from my 2007 era tablet pc, the button works, the eraser end works and the pressure sensitivity works perfectly. No issues with alignment either.
I know this isn't an S-pen... it's a blobby capacitive pen emulating your finger: YesPen S1-plus
but this isht is sick as fcxzk. 1)Capacitive stylus - seems about the same (effectively) aside from the mushiness of it - you can still write great on the note; 2) real ink pen; 3)usb drive and sdhc card; 4)bluetooth earpiece; 5) bluetooth speakerphone; 6)integrated out of the box with samsung speak; 7) 3.5mm headphone(s) jack for a2dp stereo; 8) standard universal non-proprietary male usb (without the shield) built in for direct charging, usb memory, and sdhc access... 9) only $50 on ebay - less than half the price of the Samsung spen with bluetooth earpiece but soooo many more features.
CANNOT WAIT FOR THE YESPEN S2 if they ever make it - hopefully with spen too.
Anyone else try this yet or find an english language manual?

there are a few threads. Some are DIY projects because other find the pen too small or uncomfortable.
I think you don't see much is because many people don't use the Spen, or very often to warrant needing something else. Others haven't figured a way to keep the larger pen with the phone as conveniently. It's one nice thing about the Spen, it stores in the phone, so it's just there. Maybe when the phone starts getting close to the 7" size, the Spen will be more comfortable for you.
Personally, I just use the Spen and the phone's holder. I only use it occasionally, and it's usually as a mouse for certain web applications.
I purchased the s pen with the eraser which is much more comfortable for me but I use it for my note 10.1 as opposed to my note 2. It is inconvenient to carry around and I don't want to lose it given the price. I do use my note 2 for notes at work but I just deal with the built in s pen.

Is there a list of SPen functions? I just button jam and keep tapping the screen until it does something. Never does what I want it to do.

The manual has them; I think. I use the following:
1. With button pressed, do a "less than" "<" sign on the screen and it goes back
2. Do a "^" and you get menu details
3. Press button, tap and hold on screen and it gives you an an editable screen shot.
4. Do a circle (with button pressed) and it will cut out that section as a picture which you can paste anywhere.

This is basic, every phone comes with a tutorial when you're setting it up. Also there are tons of video reviews on functionality on YouTube and sammy. Com.
Do a basic google search and you'll be buried by the amount of spen instructions.

This was a joke. The poster wanted instruction to transfer the guts of the spen to one's finger...
I have the Bamboo Stylus Feel from Amazon and mine certainly didn't come in that insanely sexy box in the picture.
Just sayin

my carbon one came in the sexy box. It's a paper box so you're not missing out much. I heard several cases of the plastic ones breaking after a pair of weeks so I coughed up a bit more cheddar and bought the expensive one.

there are 2 more s-pen gestures:
tap twice while holding the button to open a floating notepad.
draw a line up while holding the button to open a launcher app that lets you use custom gestures.
I use the s-pen, because i love it's design.
