Do I have to relock bootloader prior to running this procedure?
Sent from my HTC Raider 4G using xda premium
No, there is no need, it must be unlocked while doing s-off
I am S-OFF
I confirm that this procedure works with Bell HTC Raider 4G LTE! I am now S-OFF/ICS!
After doing this we can flash any of the ics roms? Or since its using the att ruu do we need to stick to the att roms?
you can flash any ICS rom and it`s boot (which is inside it)

The updated hboot is what matters for the kernel purpose if the Rom runs a 3.0 or higher kernel you would need this ICS hboot ..

Pps.. author do you know if s off persists through this process? If yes why do you have to unlock the bootloader AGAIN s off should accomplish read write status regardless of wether or not your bootloader is locked

i didn`t try without unlock the bootloader again, so i am not sure that you will be able to flash the recovery without unlock.
I wrote what i am sure off and tried it my self.

Wondering why the need to flash the cingular ruu before flashing the att ruu? If they're both ics, and if we've got s-off, wouldn't we just need to flash the att official ruu from htc? I'm just curious.. if I'm missing something really obvious I'm sorry.
cingular is att

First off, THanks!
Secondly, The link is not working for step 3.
Also if I am already s-off I can skip step 1 correct?
And when I unlock bootloader thru HTC dev, I select HTC Vivid?
THanks again!
Worked great!
Followed the directions and am now running ICS - flashed to the dark raider 1.1 rom from another thread after and it works great.. was going to try wc's illuminati rom but the link on his site starts out downloading at about 30k/sec and then steadily drops to zero before i get over 60mb.. anyone have a copy they want to mirror or know of another mirror hosting that rom? I know he's not on xda anymore..that's a shame tho he's a good dev.
Anyway thanks for the guide to get ics for us raider users! Worked perfectly!
Sorry for the dumb question about flasing the cingular ruu first, i didn't realize the first ruu it points to was a gb vivid ruu. makes perfect sense now.. lol...sense.. no pun intended..lol

Unlock as you unlocked before doing any changes. If your not having HTC vivid then don't select HTC vivid. If you have raider the simple select others.

No problem, have fun
When I run the ruu's im in fastboot correct? Searching around I've seen different methods. Just trying to confirm. From the instructions it looks like everythings pretty much done while in the bootloader.

Trying to unlock the bootloader with my old token isn't working. Getting a remote unlocktoken check fail. Do I need to redo htc dev as a vivid? Sorry for the questions, after spending all that time trying to get s-off my brain is tired lol
Ok so I ran the ruu's while in fastboot and I had to redo the unlock as if the phone was a vivid and get a new token and now all is well. At least if anyone has a dead brain moment like me they will see this and know
I successfully s-off my vivid, now i keep bootlooping, cwm will not load

can you get into hboot/fastboot? if you can then use the HTC Vivid All-In-One Toolkit to flash a recovery (cwm)
if that doesnt work the use the HTC Vivid All-In-One Toolkit to relock the bootloader (assuming its unlocked)
once bootloader is relocked flash the HTC AT&T Stock ICS RUU in order to flash the ruu you must first download it on a pc, make sure you have htc drivers-then run the ruu like you would any other pc program...it will walk you through the rest of the way...if for some reason you cant download the ruu from the link above, i got the link from here http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-vivid-att/software-updates
let me know if any of that worked and/or didnt work...
i ran the ruu, rooted again and i am still s-off, can u tell me how to proceed

Have you reflashed the boot.img?
Has anyone used the HTC vivid S-OFF tool kit from the same guy who made the all in one tool kit?
What's the process for making my device s-off? Do I have to re-flash recovery and my rom again after or can I just do the s-off process, reboot and I'm done?

Yes after gaining s-off you have to unlock your bootloader, flash a recovery, and flash a rom
i'm sorry i should have been more specific. the boot loader is already unlocked, i have a recovery installed and I'm running the PAC-MAN Rom.
I'm just wanting to know if I'll need to redo all that again after i S-OFF? When i originally unlocked the boot-loader it wiped my phone, so that's why I'm asking if this process is similar.
You may... you may not...
I didn't even lose my SD card contents... though most do

I had to and i also had to fix my sdcard after ... Cant remember how i did it but WC helped me with is that is all i know
It seems like s-off may be too much hassle for what it's worth. It would be nice to update roms without having to flash the boot.img in adb though. I guess I'll just deal with it
Or you can just install Flash Image GUI from playstore and use that to flash boot.
Can anyone post a link which can download the all-in-one S-Off tool kit?
I wanna s-off the HTC Vivid and send it to my wife.

Not going to work. If you flash an international ROM you hose your storage partitions. Generally the only way to recover from this is via an RUU, but I'm guessing the user is S-ON so they'll have to wait for an updated RUU to turn up.
Need to try to get s-off, which will allow you to flash older ruu. Also I suggest in the future you read OP of any Rom you want to flash to make sure it's compatible with sprint

i have flashe internatinal rom trying to fix my gsm signal on my unlocked sprint htc one with no luck and the same has happened so ive fixed it by flashing recovery with the one click too or by using adb. Im s-off and unlocked though
same thing
I did the exact same thing. Flashed the revolution rom and selected the international version of it because it said that one applies to all carriers not listed below. stupid thing to overlook on my part. at first after doing so I was unable to get into my recovery then i used fastboot erase cache and once i did that I was able to fastboot flash the recovery image and navigate into it from the bootloader. ive tried everything i could think of once in my recovery, which is a version of cwm btw. Ive formatted data, erased cache and delvik, after that i tried installing my cyanogen 10.1 zip which i was successfully running without any problems for a day before i got greedy and tried to flash that international rom :crying: i made a backup of that working one but regardless of what I try doing whether it be restoring the back up that was working properly or re installing the cyan zip, every time it starts booting for about 30 secs then crashes reboots and tries again. it continues this loop for eternity and theres nothing i can do.looks like somebody said i messed up my internal storage partitions and im sol until a new ruu update comes out. I would greatly appreciate if someone would elaborate on that or point me in the direction of a good place to do some research on it. my bootloader says tampered, unlocked, s-on. there was also somebody that said try to get s-off and flash and older ruu. is this a possible fix?? i dont care how hard it is ill figure it out but right now im hurting for some help or direction. i appreciate any help. thanks

Are you trying this in fastboot? If you are just in the bootloader then the computer won't detect anything, but if you're in fastboot mode your computer should at least register an unknown device. And I don't think there are any 4.3 RUU's yet either...
You need to RUU, try this and see if it works. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44243635
You might be screwed in till there is an updated RUU.

Hey guys so another newb fail here, essentially I rooted my phone and installed a cmd rom and messed my phone up. Went through all the steps in trying to fix it, ruu etc but the ruu was out of date? Or my phone needed a different version. Anyway now my internal storage isn't mountable and I can't do anything. Very worried I ruined my phone! Does anyone have any advice?
A little more info would be helpful. Like what ROM exactly did you flash? Were you on the latest 1.31 RUU? Did you try flashing a 1.29 RUU?

It was this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2356654
once I installed that everything went wrong, but I found a way to reboot because I made a backup and it saved to my phone and then i installed them7spr-RootBox-JB-houstonn rom, that worked for a bit but I had no service at all. So I tried to do the RUU trick but didn't realize the numbers didn't match the 1.31 as it prompted (it was 4 in the morning and I was really worried so I tried everything) so that crashed and my bootlock was locked, I then unlocked it again and when I tried to turn it on it would just load the rootbox rom's loading screen then power off. But in short yes, I was on 1,31 and tried flashing to 1.29
Got a little update, so I downloaded http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368907 and went into cmd and typed in fastboot flash recovery boot.img and got it to start loading the rom but it crashes after about 2 minutes. I can't go into recovery mode anymore, I'm assuming the flash wiped it clean? No idea what to do next. Any insight would be amazing!
1. Never flash ROMS that aren't made for your phone. ARHD is made for GSM variants of the HTC One only. I believe ARHD was also available for CDMA in point in time, but not anymore
2. You can't go back to previous RUU's unless you have S-off
Have you tried to RUU to 1.31? Did you re-lock your bootloader first? If not, do that first and you should be fine.
