[Q] N7000 can't see internal memory card - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys!
Help needed on understanding what has happened to my SGN.
ROM: Ultimate N7000 XXLSC Jelly Bean 4.1.2 v5.1 (Thread)
Kernel: PhilZ CWM6 XXLSC XJB 3.75
Yesterday I've decided to encrypt my device (don't ask why :silly, and this try resulted in error (after few reboots), i was told i need to reset my phone. I've reseted it. Since than no internal memory available - message in notification bar: "Blank USB storage: USB storage is blank or has unsupported filesystem". Neither external SD card is accessible.
In recovery mode i can access my extSD card, but can't access, mount or format my EMMC - error: failed to mount exfat /dev /block/ mmcblk0p11 /emmc
I've reflashed the ROM for two times and nothing has changed...
Please, any ideas where should i refer to to understand what is happened (emmc brick?) and how to fix it?? Has anyone faced such a problem??
Many thanks in advance!

Well first you are in the wrong section. Don't post Question in "General".
Second. after that desaster you should not even think about staying on anything.
Flash a 3part GB Rom with Odin to 100 percent cleanup your phone.
Then root again an make your way to JB.
I can't say if you have a brick. But if odin works you'll be fine again...

1) I've understand that i'm in a wrong section, so i've create this thread in Q&A section. we can move there!
2) Could you, please, elaborate on this "Flash a 3part GB Rom with Odin to 100 percent cleanup your phone." a little bit more??

Yes of course. I'll repeat all the guides which already exist here...
Mate, you flashed JB, encrypted and never read the basics?
Well read here, here and here.
I advise you to stop experiments with your actual state of the device. But sorry, I can't lead you to all processes.
So again: Bring your note in "Stock"-state with an GB-Rom flashed by Odin and restart your adventure.
Good luck.

1) Get usb drivers for your i9000
2) Download this update this site provides--"http://androidadvices.com/valuepack-update-samsung-galaxy-face-unlock-i9000-xxjvu-236/"
3) all flashing details in the website very easy, just strictly follow it.
4) Root the same, follow this page to root it--"http://androidadvices.com/root-samsung-galaxy-gt-i9000-pack-xxjvu-236-firmware/"
5) Download the ICS flavour you want, put it on the root of your internal sd card, and as after rooting you will have CWM, you can wipe cache and Wipe partition plus Dalvik cahe if needed and flash.

[Q] REQ- Help on flashing a swap mmc file by default 3e recovery

My cappy hard bricked after ****ty flash & the internal sd was gone forever.
After lots & lots of retries I found a guy with a JTAG & Riffbox here.
He has successfully got me to download mode.
AFter that I partitioned a 8gb card into 2 gb & 5. something gb.
Then I flashed Adam's uckk4 heimdall one click & it flashed on the external mmc card
after that everything works but there is no internal or usb now.(thanks to him for all the help)
i tried flashing the emmc reverse fix available in stock recovery but it says signature verification failed.
i know i could flash a corn kernel & get the flashing done.
but i want to get rid of the phone in this condition now.
but for the camera & other things to work i need the 5. something mounted to the system,.
for that i dont want to flash a kernel and other things.
moreover flashing corn kernel & the swapping by the fix works good but the mobile hangs like anything
pls help.
can someone just give a 3e recovery flashable signed file for swapping the mounts or making the system recognise my 8gb card.
pls help.
someone.
BTW Mods kindly forgive if I posted in wrong section.
regards
We can't sign the flashable .zip files...only Samsung. --- But Eclair 2.1 had the 2e Recovery that did not require the files to be signed.

thanks for all the mate again
i tried all steps but nothing works
like i said everything stops at kernel loading screen
i mean after flash rom to mmc ext then flash kernel for cwm to flash emmc swao fix
then reboot system and it stops at loading screen
nothing
also all replies are for ics or jb
nobody went back to stock gb on ext sd
thats the problem why no solution is posted for that
pls help
regards
and btw good luck n may god bless u that ur captivate never runs into any problem
regards
someone pls help mate
begging
regards
Did you read all of the encryption unsuccessful thread? It is very long, but there are suggestions about checking build date of phone, etc, and several different approaches to recovery. in the end, there appears to be a subset of cappy units for which no fix has been found, except the emmc swap to use external as internal sd.

[Q] Internal USB formatted on Mac - now unable to boot/mount etc

Hi
Can someone kindly help me here please. I'm fairly new to flashing custom ROMs and was eager to try out the Ultimate 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM I found here on XDA. I installed and setup the ROM no problem. However, was unable to format the Internal SD for Settings - Storage. I really wanted to start with a new, clean system so I (stupidly) connected the Note to my Mac via USB Mass Storage Mode, and formatted the Internal SD Card using Disk Utility.
Now I am unable to use the Note. However, I am able to boot into CWM 6xxxxxx. Under Mounts/StorageI have managed to mount the Internal SD, I can copy files onto it from my Mac and format using Disk Utility. But I am unable to get the device up and running again. As I get messages in CWM saying can't mount SD, and similar.
I do have some Nandroid backups on my Mac and copied these across to the SD Card using CWM Mounts and Storage. However, as I get the message can't mount SD card, I am unable to restore the system.
Please help someone. I love my Note and want her back.
Thank you in anticipation.
What format did / does your mac format in ? It needs to be FAT32, try reformatting it in recovery
Also, the error mounting sd card, is this internal or external ? I get this error a lot but i can still flash from both cards.

Hi - thank you for the reply. I formatted it FAT32. I've tried formatting it in CWM under Mounts and Storage - format /sdcard, but get the message: "skipping format...Done."
Can I try anything else?

Hi - I flashed the UK Stock Rom successfully and the internal SD is there and fine. Thank you so much for your help - I've learned so much. One final question, the phone rebooted automatically after the flash, at this point it was still connected to the PC with a USB cable and Odin was open. On the phone I saw a message saying MTP syncronizing. I then quit Odin and unplugged the USB cable. Can I confirm that this will not harm the newly installed ROM on the phone?
Thank you again for your help and guidance
That's normal. Phone boots automatically because auto reboot is checked in odin. You have a perfectly working phone now ciao

However, if I had to name my favorite for the SGA, it would be THIS one
Giving answer as an suggestion,

Flashing stock firmware with Odin will not delete your data from SD card. You will probably need to do factory reset, it will delete your contacts, sms, apps... But stuff from internal and external sd will remain there.
You bricked it because 4.4.2 uses preload partition for a swap, and it is partitioned in different way. And on PA 3.69 is probably different.
Or ROM zip of PA was corrupted.
thankyou and one more question

You can't brick phone with clearing cache. Did you wipe system partition? Try to install same ROM that you had (if you had).
Give us a screenshot of Odin fail. What exactly happen. And what is the full name of md5 that you put in pda of Odin. Try different version of Odin too.

Go back to recovery, and if you have ROMs zip install it again.
Ofcourse you shouldn't wipe system partition, system files are there...
And if you can't install ROM again, what error do you get in Odin?

ROM is fine. And you was on GB or JB before? If you was on GB then this problem you got is normal. You must be on JB (flash JB firmware) if you install JB ROM.
And again, if you get FAIL on Odin DO A SCREENSHOT AND POST IT HERE. To see what cause that fail. Left part of this screenshot is a log http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gkWcapOu2...gingerbread+s5570jpq8+samsung+galaxy+Mini.jpg

And no, you must install Firmware not, not ROM. Because you probably installed JB ROM over GB. That is why you do not have working recovery.

ROM is fine. And you was on GB or JB before? If you was on GB then this problem you got is normal. You must be on JB (flash JB firmware) if you install JB ROM.
