Please try again.
I cant get this message to go away at all.
When i press HOME + Power button to get the 4 options, i cant get any scrolling from the volume buttons.

Thanks shreyasvb, however I can get to the reset menu but at that point the +- buttons do not do anything and I can't scroll down to the 3rd option to wipe cache and factory reset.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.
What rom are you using ?

Download launcher from website
Then copy it to your pc
And connect phone to pc
And type
Adb install filename.apk
So it would be if i use hololauncher1_2_8.apk
So i do
Adb install hololauncher1_2_8.apk

Was the phone rooted? What ROM was your Ace running, stock Samsung 2.3.x or a custom ROM? Is this on stock recovery or on CWM/TWRP?
You may need to reflash the stock ROM and recovery using Odin. If that doesn't work, rush to a service centre and hope that your warranty isn't void.

can any one help me sort this out ive pressed vol dwn + home + power to get to download
and home + power to get recovery with no luck
Try holding it down for less time. When you see the Samsung screen let go. If you hold for too long it may just restart.

if your phone can turn on normally, try to use adb command.
install adb sdk in the PC, then run command through it.
>adb shell
>adb devices (see if the phone is detected by adb)
>adb reboot recovery
I used superoneclick to root ill try adb in the morning as its half past 12 now lol will post after
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk
ok adb worked to some extent I can move up and down the list but could not select anything ><
so used command
adb reboot download
to get into download mode
updated the software on the phone then on reboot I found my problem
the menu key is no good looks like ill be returning this for another new one

Download "Terminal Emulator" app from market
- open it
- type into the command:
su
echo -n ON > /efs/imei/keystr
sync
Go to home, force close your terminal app, shut your screen off, and when your turn it back on your lock screen should be there.
Obviously you must be rooted the "su" command.

thanx guys it worked..
OK guys, long story short my mates galaxy ace won't boot up, randomly turned off one day and booted to recovery, power button doesn't work so can't select reboot, my theory is power button is stuck in? It also has a message about csc error which is new to me.
If I flash stock rom through odin, it should reboot automatically right? However can I change the startup button because if the phone turns off it won't boot again unless I flash again through Odin which is a pain. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advanced guys

if u still have your warranty, you can get it to a service center... they would fix the power button..
My friend bought the phone off a private seller so no such warranty :/ thanks for the reply however

Maybe go to recovery mode by pressing home+power button and wipe data/reset
Wipe cache
Use volume up and down to scroll and home button to enter.

Im a master in this field so follow my instructions:
1-you have to flash a cwm on your device so if you dont have it put off the battery then put it back if the phone starts automatically it means the power button is always pressed so just keep pressed the home button and the volume down button to enter in download mode.
Once in download mode connect your device to your pc using the usb cable.
Now follow a tutorial to flash the cwm using odin if you dont know how to do it.
2-once obtained the cmw put off the battery and then put it back and keep pressed the home button to enter in recovery mode. If u have the cwm there are no problems cuz now you just have to reboot your phone and save a rom in your sd card then go in recovery mode and flash it.
3-once you have a custom rom just download the android terminal emulator and type the following lines if you want to reboot your phone:
su
Press enter and allow superuser
reboot
Press enter to reboot your phone.
If you want to reboot in recovery mode typw this:
su
Press enter
reboot recovery
Press enter and your phone will reboot in recovery mode
If you dont want to use the terminal emulator just download an app from the play store called "reboot menu" and for lock/unlock your device use the notification power widget or apps like "proximity sensor screen off" thats all
