Which kernel do you guys like the most? So far, I'm pretty torn between the franko kernel and bricked, both seem to be pretty fast .

Just try them yourself, everybody has different opinions. That's why each kernel has it's own thread, so you can read them and see which kernel people seem to like.

Our Glitch Kernel!

which one's best and can we get the Trinity mod for us?
as the hardware is almost same?
just curious..!
How many of these popularity tests are you going to do?
Try both kernels and see which you like best. In the end the only opinion that matters is your own.

Dude , i'm not a dev to try the nexus kernel on my phone(SGS) and this was not a popularity question!
Sorry if its was out of topic!
hello to all of you buddies...
i am opening this thread so as to make easy for everyone to get views about various roms available for nexus 7...i think it will also decrease the counts of threads asking "which is the best rom?"
pls also post the model (3g or wifi only) so as to avoid confusion with the post...
anybody fell free to post your views about kernels also...

Not rooting a nexus device is like owning a Bugatti Veron and not using the the key to unlock the performance mode lol. Just joshing you a little. It does do well stock I must say.
Right now I am cm10.1 but sure I will be a flashaholic like I am with my bolt. Lots of ROMs and kernels to choose from. I am like a kid in a candy store

Paranoid android 2.99 on my Nexus 7 wifi - I use it over stock because of the hybrid ui options and control over dpi on an app by app basis. Other stuff I like is 'fullscreen' mode option on the power button pop up thing.

I know it, but I bought it when my laptop was out of commission due to HDD failure and by the time I got my HDD and realized I needed recovery discs and finally got it going again I didn't want to unlock my boot loader and lose all my game progress. So as long as I'm satisfied with stock I'll use my g'nex for flashing purposes

Just like a 'best ROM' thread, this is thread useless. You can easily see what ROMs are the most popular by looking at their threads in the Dev section and seeing the level of activity. Knowing that still doesn't tell you what ROM is best for you. Only you can decide that based on your own needs and usage.
Sorry folks.,
One of the big no-no's is asking which rom is best.
This, can only be answered by installing several roms, and deciding which is best for "You".
One can read the threads, and see which rom has the least issues, and also see what features are best for your needs.
WE can't make that choice for you. If we could, then there would only be "1" rom for all users, based on the highest amount of posts.
In the end, YOU have to decide.

hey guys this should prob go in the dev forums but i cant post there so here it is. awhile back there was some talk about porting in the siyah kernal to the i9305 for the dual boot and s tweaks. i think most of the people were more for the s tweaks then anything but ever since perersus came out i havent herd much of anything since. has it been dropped? or just put on hold? or is it just not possible with the 9305 for some reason that i missed?
thx guys just trying to learn a lil something new.
i to would like to see the siyah kernal on my phone would make a great device even better :fingers-crossed:
kernEl
What was the point in that post?
Every post I read from you has some smart ass comment.
Did your mother never tell you "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything"
If your taking the time to just be a smart ass why not answer his question?
Siyah Kernel isn't available for our device yet, it probably won't be.
However we do have the awesome Perseus Kernel, which has many features like Siyah. You can use STweaks app too

nah man, it's because people post in wrong sections and don't read
Trying to find best ROM and kernel combo, I've narrowed down to prime ROM and j18 and motley or faux kernels. I'm using interactive governor and trying to find best way to conserve the cores while not taking from performance. I'm noob but pretty well with knowledge in Android, so some suggestions would go a long way!!

Best threads usually aren't allowed but this thread may help you decide on the kernel.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889571

Is it really that hard for people to read and put a tiny bit of effort into arriving at their own opinion?

We are not 'limiting free speech' however the 'best' kernel/ROM is something you have to decide for yourself, there really is no right and wrong answer just which ever you feel works best for you.
This is why we strongly discourage this kind of thread.
I am sure as of now, over 70% of us have an unlocked bootloader. :highfive:
I am delighted that we have a CM10.1 available for our phone and couldn't express how delighted i am with it!
I would just like to suggest ideas on Kernels or would like to start a kernel thread with suggestions.
I have noticed that we have a small number of kernels and would like to know what one stands out from the crowd?
I've noticed with CM10.1 that my battery life is dreadful and the over heating happens too much. Any suggestions?

we have three kernels: stock 20x kernel which comes with 20x, CM kernel which comes with CM, and EPRJ kernel for CM/20x which is quite unstalble as it's in pre-alpha state. so my suggestion is, stick to either stock kernel or CM default kernel.

If I knew how to make a kernel I would. That's just the next thing on my list.
I also mentioned in another thread about controlling the CPU cores. Forcing them on and off when needed.
The P880 has the potential to be a complete beast, but somewhere down the line the Tegra 3 management let's it down.
