Sure. I'm using a Canon 40D with Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC Macro. Those color lines are the reflection from screen saver "Ribbons" of Win8 . All the settings has been keep in the exif data of each photo, u can find them in the photo properties, thx.

" Fake and lame."? I don’t really get the point . When there is front-lighting, the back glass will show pure black, just like the first photo. When is back-lighting shooting, the glass will show dark shimmering dot matrix, like the second photo.

Fancy!

Hah, I have only guessed the screen saver part
For some reason, there is no exif data, but never mind, the pictures are stunning. Sharp like hell in that low-light...
Congrats!
Oh, and I guess that Google would gladly use them if it wasn't for the Win screen saver

Amazing, photography. Post more.
And to the guy saying it's fake and lame, he's just jealous.

Some people need to learn sarcasm
He clearly was making a jive on the fact that lots of people have had their back shatter
Although mines fine
Lovely pictures.

Nexus 7 Custom Colored Back

So I got my Nexus 7 and was excited to see it up close and in my hands. Once I received it I fell in love with its design and feel. But one thing was missing on the back. The back was just to plain and boring for me. Google could have at least colored in the Nexus logo to spice things up. So instead I went ahead and did my own coloring on the back of my Nexus 7. See the pictures below. If you guys want I can make a tutorial on how I did it and what I used. Thanks!

That's pretty smart, I like it. It would have been a nice idea to have a line of coloured backs ready to upsell on eager new owners, but I suppose they don't want people jimmying off the backs to replace them
BTW, yeah, I'd like to know what sort of paint you used, acrylic?
It looks good. I'm holding out for the custom backs sure to come.

Very cool! How did you do it?
Very cool paint job. I dont have one yet but I assume that the logos is carved in the back and you just used some paint to paint in the spots?
Very cool paint job! I'd like to try this as well

Looks pretty sweet... If I were to do it I'd only do the Nexus.
But yeah, what did you use and you'll have to update on if it holds up.
Cool... Mine will be in a slim case soon, but I could get my Daughter to do that (Graphic artist with all the paints and tools).

I used Elmers Painters Neon Pack from Amazon. I bought them just to try this out. I wouldn't really recommend these because the tip is to big to get the paint into the engraving and it took me awhile to clean it up. And it doesn't seem like the paint would really hold up that long. Im going to try to take out all the paint and re-do the color with some better markers.
This is really cool! Definitely makes the back look much more enticing and, I think Google and Asus should've designed something like this to begin with.
I'll be trying this out for sure! Nice work!

That looks pretty cool. Although people, be careful if you want to try paint on your backing, it might not be very easy to find a new one if you screw up. Nexus Excitement

I know many are just excited as I am about the N4 so I want to talk about all the good things about it. Is anyone else more anxious about the phone because of the lack of the press event? I find myself checking every couple hours for a good hands on video to admire. Ahhh, the nexus butterflies all over again

The only hands on videos are from reviewers at a Google demo. Actual review units have been sent out already apparently. We will have to wait until the NDA lifts to see the results though and I imagine it will not be until the week of release.

I was a fan but not so much after owning three phones that had it. I want more accuracy now and brighter screens. The only things that made my galaxy nexus' screen usable was the color/gamma mod and supercurio's app. I look forward to the change

I think separately looking on what you get in the box on the play store page. When the verge did their video it was still in prototype.

Nexus 4 has a pattern on the display.

If you hold up the phone turned off under bright light you'll see small blue dots in a grid pattern. Very cool.

is the digitizer, the thing that let touch a smartphone not dumb
you can see it on every phone. Maybe in the n4 is more visible because lg used a special tecnology to blend it with the glass
Yea. It's totally right for Nexus to have these. For example, in SE Xperia Neo V there are barely noticeable lines running across the screen. You can sometimes see them when pixels are white. Now that's really annoying sometimes; as you can see, there's completely nothing to worry about

I didn't know being excited about something makes you a fanboy, right.
also, says the person who has a nexus 4 as well..
I figured that it had some rhyme or reason. It's definitely more noticeable, considering I've gone through a captivate and an HTC one xl without notice. As for the fanboy comment I really don't care. Trolls are trolls and hey. He's right. Who cares if I'm a fanboy dammit. I got my phone on the seventeenth, a day before my birthday, while the other poor souls wait.
Thanks for the info!
Thanks troll! I'm glad you were so amused

This pattern (as we agreed on is the digitizer) is very visible on my device even if the screen is turned on (!) It is really annoying on bright background colours. Anyone else suffering from this?

Does This look normal to you?

Sorry for the bad pictures - Hopefully you can get an idea of what I am talking about - Around one edge of the power button, the finish either looks "unfinished" or slightly "peeling off" my 1 day old phone...Probably just me being super anal but wanted your opinions. Thanks
Maybe some protective foil, I remember it took months before someone discovered the home button on the sgs2 had foil on it and we could peel it off.

Take Lumia-level low light shots!

Tried shot control but it's very buggy at iso 100. So just turn on HDR and hold your device against something stable. Cheers

Definitely pleasing to eye. But they lack the crisp feel of Lumia. I Don't know I just can't stand Windows platform and Nokia for their utmost stupidity for sticking with WP... But Nokia's PV camera and build quality ... aaaah just EPIC. I know people will disagree here, calling Nokia Phones bulky but how can we forget owning Nokia phones all those years and boy they were sturdy.
Nokia please.. pleaseeee come to the brighter side of mobile arena
PEACE

Oops sorry for mentioning PV techno.. I was actually referring to Lumia 802. I recently saw its live low-light photos and boy that freaking 8 MP shooter stole the show from rest of us (android and iphone crowd...while at an event). I was shocked to witness THAT level of clarity in Lumia LL shots.
Pretty awesome, how'd you get to change the ISO Settings though?

With stock you can't. I referred to an app called shot control which allows you to, but when you set it to iso100 it usually freezes. About the lumia comparison, I think that these shots definitely are on par with the 920, which is pretty soft by itself. DDon't forget that XDA shrinks images, originals are much sharper. And about Nokia build quality, the lumias are definitely good, but traditionally Nokia had many flops: my 6120, N95, N85 and N97 all crumbled pretty fast.
I want a lumia 925. 920 but way thinner/lighter/better looking
