2. No
3. People say razodroid has the most features. Retribution looks good too

I think the only different is that S5830 has a processor of 800 MHz and S5830i has a processor of 832 MHz.
S5830 ROMS cannot be flashed on 5830i because both have different chipsets. If you try, your phone gets bricked
There are quite a few custom ROMs for 5830i so far (You can checkout from the 5830i developement section and decide which works best for you. I personally found Androidscream V1 by Qeemi, best for my needs. You can also try the rest). You may also flash latest stock ROM using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822109 instructions.
Hope this helps

The S5830i is a different phone
[]Brodcom chipset
[]different GPU (VideoCore IV HW)
[]different sensors
[]different partitions
[]different camera
[]Codename - COOPEREV
Its your phones funeral if you flash a S5830i firmware
How to visually tell the difference of if its S5830i or S5830?
You can't its visually completely identical to S5830

S5839I = S5830I
All custom ROMs for the S5830I can be safely flashed on the S5839I. Many S5839I users have confirmed that already.
Still would love confirmation regarding s5839i is s5830i

Lol
Hmmm.. I choose S5830i......
Outside it looks the same but inside it has different hardware. So don't flash roms for 5830 on 5830I or it will brick your phone. You can find a reference on my site michielv.eu about the differences

Even though it has a faster CPU, the 1 GB of RAM is not enough to support KitKat, according to Samsung.
In fact, they are just too lazy and they want to boost the sales of newer devices.

i think you may have lost the plot there mate
TouchWiz and sammy bloatware is the reason why Samsung have not gone ahead with building kitkat for s3 mini
also the question the OP posted was if firmware from GT-I8190 would run on their device

Hi there,
my GF also just bought that device. Till now, I haven't found anything like a custom rom for that gear.
It is very surprising/sad that this device hasn't cought any attention in the dev community.
And root can only be done with VROOT so far, if Im not completely wrong.
I wish there would be any news regarding custom roms in the near future.
Perhaps one dev will read this and will picture my crying wife in his mind. And perhaps he will port some existing rom for the i8190 and recovery to that device...
Regards,
Hicks
I search over 2 weeks and ask on different forms and developers websites, but no luck.
I think there are not enough users of the s3 mini GT-i8200 version to have the developers attention.
I wanna all the users that have the model to gather in one place and a developer maybe will see us and he will change his mind and try to make a custom rom for our device too.
Regars,
Narcis
Perhaps we should build up a donation pile for a dev who will port e.g. cm11. [emoji2]
pleaseee i8200 custom rom 4.4
pleaseee i8200 custom rom 4.4
Like a said before, if we the users of this version of gt-i8200 don't gather in 1 place, the devs will not notice us

comments on why samsung have not put KitKat on the s3 mini were based on official announcements made by samsung
the reason they gave was due to insufficient hardware capabilities
I have not seen any new announcements stating otherwise
if they have gone ahead with putting KitKat on a device with lower specs then there must be some other reason why it was not done on the s3 mini

First of all, Wrong section mate! Always post such questions in the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Q/A section. The following 2 links are the only stock Froyo firmwares for Galaxy Ace S5830 that I could find. I haven't personally tried it so use it at your own risk. Here is the link,
Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 2.2.1 Froyo Official Rom - S5830XXKB1_221
Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 FROYO 2.2.1 XXKC1

For me... Froyo reminds me of the time when I bought my very 1st android phone & the joy I had. It's UI & animation style still amuses me. I didn't expected that someday it'll be running ics or jellybean or kitkat.
On a different note: if any serious issue occurs...where flashing stock gingerbread couldn't help either...then flashing froyo is the ultimate & right choice for the health of ur phone
