It doesn't say that, so why are you thinking that? Just because it's a new ROM doesn't mean it's 2.3.
If it is, it is. But since we don't have a 2.3 ROM, I assumed there might be at least ONE mention of it, if it in fact was. Although dropping in on Feb 3rd (2/3) would be a nice touch to dropping a 2.3 ROM. Ha.

There is an i9000 rom called insanity, though by a different developer. I would have assumed he would have called it a port in the title if that's what it was going to be. More likely is that it is a common word that happens to be used for more than one rom out there
As for this "is it 2.3?!?!?!" stuff.... c'mon guys.

This is not a ROM/Kernal or some tweaks.
Just purely discussing and sharing some reviews abt current ROM's.
I hope this thread will help for some dummies, or for some who required Stable or Fater & Smoother or much great look ROM's.
This is purely my personal Experiance.. Im not commenting on any one's ROM just sharing few thoughts with you guys..
Correct me if i was wrong, and sorry if i unknowingly hurts anybody's feeling.
First of all thanks to our SGS ROM Developers where they are working nites for latest ROM's updated tweaks or kernals.. simply million thanks to them.. else we should have only SAM's deafult firmware.
Coming to my point,i purchased my SGS I9000 n dec 2010.
Previously i dont have any idea of ROM neither XDA nor anything.
When i googled for info on SGS then i found link to DARKYROM, there i got links to XDA.
FOA i would like to thak Darky as i started to flash Custom ROM after i read the whole story posted on his Darky 9.2 stable version, he included almost every thing like which a new guy can easily understand.
9.2 Darky ROM really rocks. Then i moved to DOC's thread,
oh man here u can cook ur own stuff... u ll get here any ROM/CSC/MODEM... this is purely awesome like a supermarket .
Then Juwe's/ultimate & Sweet honey.. these guys are nite raiders always go for newest and experiantal but they ll never let you down.
last but not least Serendity ROM(currently where my journey paused for a while), superb ROM with ultimate fast.
SO my obs are
darky:- if you want Stable Release and want to stay for long time this is best ROM i get.
DOC:- here u c all ROM's and all varieties till last date, you will really confuse which ROM/CSC/Modem version u should go,
I found Serendity is my choice where u will get excellent Faster smoother and Stable and less battery drain if you are with JPY Modem. I mean without any tweaks or some bla .. bla... Just simply install and sit back and enjoy Perfect ROM for daily use.
Once again im telling tht im not Judging any ROM here, just want to Share some views of mine on various ROM's.
2.3.2 is out but lot of FC's going currently no stable yet, i suggest wait for some Darky's/DOC's Stable Release.
I found (ROM) GingerCriskelo for 2.3.2 is bit smoother and less FC's (if anybody want to try 2.3.2).

Same for me + yes serendipity a big discover but it's not late!....2.3.2 will coming.....!!!!

I meant that when I see a cooker that uses such fancy words, I just ignore their roms. I used online rom generator to build a rom that close to the stock rom.

dud.. dud.. hold on.. im telling u again.. im not judging these(or any ROM's) nor commenting just want to share some reviews/thoughts of mine.. please take it low.. just share ur thoughts if any otherwsie dont just play ur words abt any ROM u feel online is better just say that simply.. instead of criticising other ROM's.. we are lucky to have these developers.. if u want u can create ur own Custome ROM with ur thoughts.. i hope u understood.

Guys i just flashed Insanity 0.6.7, way gud.. one should try.. just like Tricky very lite but look wise impressed with gud tweaks..

I have been on darky's for a little bit now (since early v8) and its been really, really nice. but now i seem to have cought the bug, and i just want to flash all the different roms out there and see whats out there. tomorrow I'm off to the land of cm7, then maybe miuiand then some of the roms here will be my next stops, i guess i'll report back with my findings

I am on Juwe 1.9 and it works great. Just waiting to see battery life, everything else I am satisfied.
Also when I had a HTC Desire, I was on MUIU and its was defenatly best custom ROM.

AOSP thread closed

Hi.
Does anyone knows why imilka's AOSP thread was closed?
I think imilka itself closed it because of one of the last posted messages, by someone saying that he had enough of the ROM, describing some problems (some already discussed, others probably related to a faulty instalation).
Man... some guys forget that that dev'ing is not an easy task, nobody is get payed for their work (donations are voluntary, even when asked) and everything in xda is kind of experimental, even when called itself stable. If you get annoyed with ROM bugs, you can always flash back to stock. Simple like that.
Please imilka, don't give up on AOSP. Even when stock ICS is released, we don't like touchwiz (as you said in post OP). So you effort will continue to be very useful.

If m not reading wrong then imilka's thread is not closed. Its the AOKP thread by JamieD81 which is closed.
Also the AOKP and ASOP by imilka has both been included by Chris here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563955

which rom for p500.

hello guys.i m trying to flash a new rom on my p500..so i was searching for the best rom (from the views of battery,performance and ram management)..i saw a lot of options and to be honest i got comfused..does anyone of you tried a rom which worked without problems?i mean in camera,speaker or anywhere else!
i mostly look for cyanogen..which i saw has already ice cream version for my mobile...thanks for your time!any answer is welcomed!
preferably if it could let me decide which apps will be on startup and which not,and if it could support adobe flash,it could be great,but these are minor problems...

I'm using gingersnap v1.3 is the best for me for now........

to be honest i had cm7 nightly which it has a ram management problem and sometimes it was responding really slowly...

install oxygen and the ics theme from my signature if you get bored by stock aspect.end of story.

where do i see the bugs of that rom?i ve searched but it wasnt easy to find them..or a screenshot and perhaps the specs(this phone is really slow,so it needs a light and useful rom...)

If I got 1 dollar every time I posted this, I would be rich lol.
If you want to find the best rom for your device, flash the ones available and chose the one that suits you the best

i have a vivid running cm11 from albinoman887 but i dont have the gaps nor can i ask for them since im a noob to this forum will jb gaps from cm10.2 work on it, i dont want to flash it and crash my phone again so im asking before im forced to try it

I'm not sure, but I'd bet that it would not work. CyanogenMod has some gapps available:

(make sure to pick the correct gapps!)
If that doesn't end up working, just reply and tell me, and if you don't mind waiting for a little bit, I can upload the 12-30-2013 modular-mini gapps for 4.4.2 android to a file hosting site for you.

i found the link to the PAGaps and they work fine im following the nightlies now and starting to understand android better , havent tried anything that dumb since and yes i did flash and yes it came to a complete hault in the recovery had to ruu , root , then run cm11 again for about 2 days before i got the pa gapps now im on the latest build and running blink feed even though i cant get the facebook for sense apk to work with it but hey runs great otherwise thanks for the help though
