Does anyone know if there are any plans on making one for the Nook hd?
Thanks

How are you guys copying over the binary files to a different partition?
Im using windows 7 and the only partition that it displays in Computer is the BOOT one..
Any idea on how to copy the zip binary file to a different partition of the SD card within windows 7?
Thanks
EDIT:
When I burn the new sd card image, my sd card partitions look as follows:
img266.imageshack.us/img266/3199/sdcard.png
Just need to figure out how the get that binary zip file onto CM10SDCARD...
I downloaded virtualbox and got an ubuntu vm image. Was able to load the zip image file through that. Install successful
EDIT:
I managed to get it installed. However I have noticed:
- The screen resolution is smaller than stock..
- My screen does not tilt..
bokbokan's mod works a treat, great work on this one!
i have one issue with cm10+gapps however i am not able to bring up in the dev thread due to the low post count. having cm10+gapps (latest or 20121011 version) combined results in the keyboard service being killed right after i boot my hd up and every time i try to use any input field. clearing data method did not fix this for me.
is there anything else i could try to make it work?

To tilt the screen, hold it vertical while you rotate it. Screen resolution is the same, it just looks smaller. You can change that by editing /system/build.prop. Look for the line that ends ...density=240. Change to something larger.

CM10 copy zip to sdcard
Am very frustrated. Been working on this for 3 days. I have got ADB installed and working. When I copy the ZIP file over to /SDCARD it does not show up in CWM when I go to install from sdcard. When I look in file explorer I see the ZIP file was copied to the internal memory.
If I install the ZIP from internal memory will it work correctly?
Also looking at the Nook HD+ develper documentation it shows the removable sdcard as /ext_sdcard and the internal memory as /sdcard.
What am I doing wrong?
I started Ubuntu on my Dell laptop and it will not show or mount the sdcard no matter what I do.
I really want to get this working. I don't give up easily but after three days I need help.

I used LeapinLar's stock root by CWM fashable ZIPs. This worked great I have root and Gapps installed. Now I see that bokbokan has a new easy install CM10 sdcard install to do what I originally was tryingto do.
I downloaded the image and wrote it to the sdcard. Poped in the NOOK HD+ and rebooted. It keeps booting to the stock Nook ROM. I tried doing a ADB reboot and it still reboots to stock rom.
I have redonloaded and made the image three times with the same results.
I put Leapinlar's CWM sdcard back in the NOOK and it boots to CWM.
Is the image i'm downloading corrupt? Is there a check sum for this file?
What am I doing wrong? Is the fact that the Nook is already rooted keeping this from booting?

bokbokan's CM10 is for the 7" HD. You need verygreen's CM10 for the HD+.

Hello,
I've scoured the internets and the forum to no avail.
After what can only be described as an ordeal, I finally got verygreen's CM10 to boot from an SD card for my Nook HD+
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032364
However, I cannot get gapps, which is the whole reason one would switch to cm10.
I also could not get adb to ever work, so I just put the zips onto the sd card directly (not the boot partition, but the CM10SDCARD partition), and then loaded recovery mode.
Then I mounted the sd card. Then install zip from sd card. Then choose zip from sdcard. Then I choose the gapps zip.
Then
E:Can't open /sdcard/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
I don't know what the problem is. I know there were a lot of problems getting CM10 on there to begin with, but now there is no problem.
Which gapps was I using? Xda people pointed me to http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip which is where I got it from.
Please any help or advice.
Thanks,
DG
i suspect a corrupted gapps zip file. perhaps it didn't download fully, or didn't transfer fully to your microsd card ?

Yes, I agree. Download the gapps file directly to your device and then install via CWM. Sometimes PC antiviral software will corrupt a download on the PC.

Thank you both. So, I downloaded gapps directly to the internal memory. Could you advise how to go from there in CWM? Is it mounting the emmc, or the rom? Then is it choose .zip from internal card? It can't mount the emmc...I don't know if there is something I need to do first.

No, not to internal memory, to sdcard. Copy now from emmc to sdcard. Then you can flash with cwm.
Edit: BTW, I meant to download with CM10, not stock.

I saw where this was posted, almost verbatim as how you mentioned it.
Does anyone out there ACTUALLY have experience with this happening?
In the 13 years of working on this stuff (tinkering with gadgets, etc) I have never experienced this.
Update:
Today, I finally got it going. Downloaded gapps from CM and it installed like a charm. Now I've got a pretty darn good android tablet for the price. Thanks leapinlar, much appreciated.
abense, i'm, also skeptical that it was actually my antivirus software. I would imagine the software would prevent the download entirely as opposed to just corrupting it. However, it did work when downloading from the nook itself.

gapps from sdcard for HD
Might be a dumb question but...
I used OP's auto-install version of his HD version of Verygreen's HD+ CM10 sdcard. It installs CM10 to the sdcard no problem. Works like a charm. My Nook HD runs CM10 from the card great. But no gapps.
Would this method you've described work for me? Is there an easier way I'm just missing?
If I load gapps to internal memory, do I then mount the sdcard in CWM and flash gapps to the sdcard that way?

The install from internal memory option is broken in the SD versions of CWM.
Boot to CM10, browse to goo.im and download gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip to sdcard. Then use the power menu to boot to recovery and choose install zip from SD, then choose zip from SD. It will probably be in downloads folder.

Hi,
I am a little confused, I have followed verygreens , thank you for the work !! , latest post to install CM10 to sdcard. I have created my sdcard and booted into TWRP as directed, then connected to my pc , linuxmint, it connects and shows a 16gb directory with various folders. I have 2 questions:-
1) I thought that the instructions where for installing to sdcard, my sdcard is 8GB , but it looks like it is mounting the nooks internal storage, i have a 16gb nook hd+
and
2) If this is ok, which folder do I need to copy the cm-10-20130212-UNOFFICIAL-ovation.zip file too?
Thanks very much, I hope I have provided enough information to highlight my problem.

If you have Linux, you do not need to use his new TWRP method to copy the zip to the SD. Just plug the card directly into the PC and copy the CM zip to the SDCARD partition with Linux. Then put the card back into the Nook and boot to TWRP and install the zip.

Hi, guys, I am really new to my Nook HD+ coz I received it 2 days ago.
After reading lots of posts, I wanna try the CM10.1 native emmc which I used with other pad.
May I ask after installing it by the method given by verygreen(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263553), is it possible to reset it to the original Nook system with the 8-restart method? Coz I note verygreen says "Note, this version totally overwrites your ROM, so back up everything important before proceeding".
Thanks very much!
If you replace the stock recovery with one of his recoveries (CWM or TWRP), the 8 failed restart no longer works. If you only install his ROM and not the recovery, the 8 failed restart still works.
But if you use his CWM SD to do a nandroid backup before you install his ROM, you can restore that one later so you get stock back.

No, don't use early4. If you want to install the CM to emmc, you must use the CWM that he has in the emmc thread (early 2.1). It should unzip to 1GB and can be burned to a 1GB or larger SD. Don't confuse it with the other cwm zip (that he calls CWM recovery) that is meant for flashing CWM to emmc.

Hi,
Ok that installed ok but still having issues: on boot all apps and processes crash (stop responding) when unlocking the nook if I clear cache in cwm it boots fine and I can see that the swap has occurred internal still shows 5gb but is actually my 32gb sd card. However I can't side load any apps I get an app not installed message even though unknown sources is ticked also as soon as I reboot the nook its back to square one and all the processes and apps crash.
I never saw any instructions for installing this i simply flashed from cwm recovery. Is there a set install order or process for this maybe I'm doing something wrong? I.e. does it need cm 10.2>sd swap>gapps all on initial flash? The only thing I can think is I'm installing the sd swap after I have installed a few apps
Cheers for the help,

Remember this is a kludge, so everything does not work perfectly. I have found that sideloading apps from one of the SDs (I can't remember which) fails. Just copy the apk to the other one and try. And the setting storage shows wrong.
But I have not had apps and processes crash. If you have apps that were using internal for media storage, you may have to move their media files from internal to external. Like you say, you may want to start fresh with CM10.2, gapps and swap before you install any apps.

Hi,
ok I cant seem to get this working. I have a similar mod on my S3 which works perfectly. I have done the following:
1) Tried it WIth 10.1 RC3. Boot to recovery wiped data and cache flashed 10.1 RC2 > GAPPS > SDSWAP on boot the swap hasn't happened if I then reboot and flash the swap again and go into storage the calculating space hangs at calculating and no apps will open when you click on them.
2) as above but tried flashing 10.1 RC2 > SDSWAP >GAPPS exactly the same results as above.
So it doesn't seem to work with 10.1 or 10.2?
EDIT: This is driving me insane lol
Ok if I flash the cm 10.1 and SDSWAP then look at es file explorer the swap has worked and apps open ok SDCARD0 shows 29GB and SDCARD1 5GB but I have the same issue as with 10.2 if I try and install an .apk from SDCARD0 it opens and displays the app permissions as normal then as soon as you click install you get an app not installed message ? IF I copy the .apk to SDCARD1 (the internal) I get a problem parsing package error. So the swap works but I cant install any .apk's

I told you that settings/storage does not work. Why try it again and be surprised that it does not work?
And I just tested it again on the HD and install fails if you try from the real external SD. But it works from the internal SD. And I get no app crashes.
This is on the 7/08 CM10.1 from verygreen. I will now try on CM version.
Edit: I just updated to CM10.1 RC2 and it works the same.

My 16 GB Nook HD+ has about run out of memory, and I notice that it doesn't use the SD Card for anything...which means there's about 30 gbs available for use on whatever.
I was wondering if, outside of a CM 10.1 SD install, there's a way to increase storage capacity via a storage swap (like the SD swaps on the Galaxy phones) or storage Kernel(similar to the Stock SD swap for the Rooted Stock Rom)?

It is not a kernel change. It is a script that is run at boot time. And I don't know if it will work on Carbon. But since Carbon is based on CM, it might work to use the zip for swapping on CM.

I ran the script, the "SDSwap for CM 10.1 EMMC" and it didn't work, it gave me an error stating that it couldn't find CM. I ran the NookHD+ SDSwap and it installed without errors, but I still see my internal memory at 12 gbs.
Anything else I could try? Or maybe I flashed it wrong? I flashed it via a CWM Boot SD that I made.

I ran the script, the "SDSwap for CM 10.1 EMMC" and it didn't work, it gave me an error stating that it couldn't find CM. I ran the NookHD+ SDSwap and it installed without errors, but I still see my internal memory at 12 gbs.

I ran the script and when I looked at Settings->storage that the internal card stats showed in internal and sdcard. But, when I attached to PC, exactly what i wanted happened. The internal and ExtSdcard are swapped.

What rom are you running? Are you running rev6 of the swap zip? This version is for official CM only. The title says that and the CM not found message says that.
And that second swap you ran is for stock.
Edit: I see from your post earlier that you are running the Carbon ROM. The zip is designed to abort if not an official CM ROM. Extract the 11extsd2internalsd file from the zip and copy it to a new folder /data/local/userinit.d and set its permissions to execute in all three boxes. (Since you flashed that other zip, there may be a file 11SDswap there. Delete it.) Reboot and see if if it worked. If not, delete the file.

Yes, Carbon Rom. That same script is what I currently use on my phone, so I'm quite familiar with it. I'll try it now.
Has the script been modified for the Nook, or is it as-is?

Good news! I've figured out how to make this work, AND with my SDXC FAT32-formatted 64 GB sd card!
Here's what I did:
1 - Extracted the 11extsd2internalsd file from the "SDSWAP for CM 10.2" zip
2 - Copied that over to my 64 GB SD card
3 - Once inside, make sure you're rooted, use a root explorer App (Root Explorer or ES File Manager, ES Explorer)
4 - Paste the file in the System/Etc/init.d folder (in internal memory)
4.5 - Tap & Hold over the file, tap Permissions, and enable all 3 "Execute" options.
5 - Download a script manager app
6 - Install, enter the program, click on "browse as root", and tap OK.
7 - Navigate over to the system/etc/init.d folder
8 - tap on the icons for SU and Boot.
9 - Save
Once you reboot, you'll notice that your internal storage is now your SD Card's storage capacity!
NOTE:
Copy over ALL your internal memory over to your SD Card for this to 100% work. If not, you'll wind up with a bunch of errors.
I've seen that reinstalling the ROM & Gapps over this new one(dirty boot) apparently solves the problem, but I haven't tried that yet.
ONLY for advanced users.
EDIT: Apparently moving the files from MNT/SDcard over to /ExtSDCard doesn't work like it does on the phones...I'l research this further...THere has to be something to move over to the external SDCard prior to the script enable for this to work flawlessly.
The script works. If it is init.d folder, you shouldn't need Smanager. I'm thinking the script might execute earlier in boot process without a script app.

I tried it with and without. With Smanager, I got in and, of course,it had a bunch of errors. Without Smanager, it wouldn't work as well, since it'd only recognize internal memory as extSDCard AND SdCard and nothing I did would stop the errors.
What I'm trying to figure out is, why? Anything in init.d runs on its own, yet in my case, even before I experimented with script manager, it didnt recognize it.
Now I have another dilemma - What do I move over to the SD Card, and in what file structure, to make this work efficiently?

Did you set the permissions for the script file to execute. And you can just as easily put the script in /data/local/userinit.d. That is automatically loaded by init.d (see the 90 script in init.d). That way you do not need to edit each time you flash an updated ROM.
Edit: But maybe Carbon does not have that 90 script? If it doesn't that would explain why my script did not work.

I don't think so. As a matter of fact, I went through all 3 available Carbon Roms today and each was worse than the last when it came to this. I noticed that in each rom, (Unnofficial-Custom, Xperia, and Unofficial-Basic) init.d behaves differently - in basic, it accepted the file without problem, whereas in Xperia, the file needed scriptmanager to function. Unofficial Custom however, downright neglected it and kept me in a bootloop, which is where I am now.
I don't think it has anything to do with the rom itself, however. I believe that, for some strange reason, each time I've used my CWM SD card, the HD+ has been using up its resources to the point where the Nook itself won't boot CWM anymore, as if wiping Data, Data/Media, and Cache haven't cleaned up the necessary files to start fresh. That's another topic, though.
