hi im having problem charging my galaxy, it won't charge at all after the battery died out once when i plug it into a power source the loading circle comes out then battery than it repeates everytime. Is this the way a galaxy charges i never had a phone like this before.
I am new to this forum and I am having the same issue, I got my phone yesterday and now I am only getting the gray battery with circle flashing every 10 or 15 seconds, I have tried switching wall sockets and usb ports
Any help will be helpful. Thanks
Mario
What was the problem... mine is doing this out of the blue. Thinking it is the battery but let me know what your problem was ...
The charging / micro USB socket could be broken. Does it work if you wiggle it around a little bit?
Alternatively the actual plug / socket could be broken. Have you tried a different one?
Have exactly the same problem.

I have two battery's for my Galaxy S - the same results on each battery. Bin today to a technical store they have made an examination of the USB. No hardware issues, must be software.
Will flash back to a stock GB.
Results coming up later.
Right now on: MIUI MintBerry Edition 1.12.2-2 (2.3.7)

remove the battery and check the USB port for contamination.. try blowing air or clean it gently with cloth (may be dipped in pure alcohol). let it dry. reinsert the battery and try again

Get a tight micro usb connector and connect and disconnect it to the note usb port. It should clean the port out. I had the same problem with my note.
I have tried 2 different micro usb connector but didn't help. I think there might be some problem in the internal circuit.

You can easily replace the charger board if you think that's the issue...its about 35 dollars and very easy to install

This problem happened to me about 3 days ago. My screen is constantly turning on, if i'm not charging it. And the icon is flapping between charging and not charging, even i have unplugged the cable.
I am using stock rom and saw a new firmware upgrade last night, did it, and look like it has resolved the problem (last night), however, happened again, this morning.
I want to know if this is a "battery" related problem or "hardware"?
hope someone can help
thanks guys

Does charging cut in and out when you wiggle the charger?
Does the issue happen when on battery alone? Screen flicker?

if the conditions cited by AndroidSlave occur then you just have to calibrate the battery with some complete charge cycle

I ve already advise a few guys on this , happening to lots of SGN now, (getting old lol) use a thin flat screw driver and gently lift the middle small plate at the charging port up (if u look closely its touching the bottom part of the port) then use small brush n alcohol n clean the port. Should take care of yr problem. Cheers

Actually, tried with a air blower, seem to be working. Will try the alchol, guess the SGN worked so hard during the week, it deserves a glass on the weekend. 8)

Update: I charged the phone overnight, and when i unplug the cable this morning, the same problem, used the air blower immediately seem to fix it. One more note, when this is happening, if i turned off the phone, i can't turn it back on until i plug it to a real charger in order to start up the phone
Can charges but not storing
SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE, could be able to charges, battery bar moving up like normals, but battery decrease and seems not storing even thought the battery bar is moving like normal, tested while off the phone, same cant store battery, try to clean the micro-usb with brush, still same, is that a mainboard problem ?tried search the forums, but no luck~ any help ??
i just bought mhl adapter for galaxy SIII and it's worked well with my note 2 although there is no sound
today i tried again with another TV and suddenly it wasn't work! it only charge my device and even the message "HDMI connected" didn't appear
what should i do? is there any certain setting?
1. Buy one made by Samsung.
2. Return the cheap Chinese one you have.

actually the one that i bought was original one from samsung
i don't know if it's fake or not because i got it pretty cheap, around 18$
Link to where you got it?

Are you sure its 11pin not 5pin?
When that happens with my Note 1, I power cycle it and its adapter starts working again.
How can you tell if is 11 pin?
My old mhl still works on note one, htc sensation and skyrocket doesn't work on note2

Look at the MHL micro usb connector. You will see a 2 step connector. 6 pins on the lower step, 5 pins on the inside step. You can also look at the Note 2 micro usb plug and you can see the 2 step connector pins.
Lol it was fake

Did you get a Samsung one?

Is your Samsung MHL adapter like this...
Mine cuts in and out (both video and audio), and wiggling the entire set of attachments seems to bring it back. I've replaced the hdmi cable and power adapter / cable to no avail. Also, the power plug into on the MHL adapter seems very loose at the pin connection. But even with the charge indicator on, the video/audio signal cuts in and out randomly.
Hey,
My N7000 suddenly doesn't want to charge or connect to pc.. I tried with several other cables and they all don't work.
The phone only charges when I push the MicroUSB plug downwards.. I think I twisted my phone in a wrong way when the charger was plugged in or so.. Can i repair it?
If you have the expertise then yes by ordering yourself and new one and changing it. Lot of videos on that.
Have you tried to check if all the pins in the port looks ok. Not twisted and touching each other.
Or warranty. I swnt my year old note off last week and got ot back yesterday (2 year warranty in UK) all fixed nicely

Clean your micro usb thoroughly using a pin or tooth pick. Make sure you get out all the fuzz and then it should work. Get right under the tight spot of the micro usb where most buildup is.

Hello
The micro usb connector of my n7000 is broken due water damage. Its saying that he is charging, when he isn't. Due that the screen is aways on, what is resulting is a very poor battery life. Is there a way to disable the screen wake while I'm charging?
The shipping-time for the new connector is between 4 and 8 days (From UK to Holland),so a temporary solution would be welcome.
The device is running stock TW 4.1.2 (If rooting is necessary i will do it).
Thank you!

you may root using philz kernel and use xposed framework for the disable wake up on putting to charging. which module i am not sure but you can read here:

Just use a small flat screw driver and gently lift the centre plate away from the bottom. (If u see closely u will find it almost in contact with the botton part of usb port) after that use alcohol to clean the port u should be fine.
Thnx im gonna try that tommorow
