I'm asking this because my phone spent whole night in some strange looking juice. In the morning when I switched ii on there was a msg about cooling down and since then it never started again.
So after one week I opened it and cleaned each possible part (there was a lot of dry greenish liquid everywhere).
When I put back all together again nothing worked - the green led was off - power button did nothing (only battery inside, no charger)
When I plugged the charger the green light was on but again nothing worked. Power and volume down buttons ddid nothing - only the led blinked once and than stayed continously lit.
I'm 90% sure that battery is dead because when I check voltage on that sticking ribbon one of 4 connection points shows nothing.
So I removed the battery and plugged the charger - and again nothing worked - only the green light was on.
so please somebody tell me that it should be that way I mean atrix hd will not run when plugged in but without battery - so I will still have some hope that only battery is kaput)
thank you in advance.
Why do you switch it on after its been in juice?
well that's a good question
didn't I mention there was a party that night? - well I just did swich it (without too much thinking)
i took my atrix hd apart and removed the battery. my green ligh comes on when the battery is out as well. however, it will not power up. so my question is the same as the op is there any way to test the phone to be sure it is the battery and not the phone? im willing to buy another battery if i know for sure.
thanks!

Does this mean my battery is dead? I pulled it out of my briefcase this morning, and it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in to the wall and it powered up and sync'ed up (at least my data is backed-up), I left it plugged in so it could charge and when I came back to it, it was dead, just a red LED on the right side, and thats it. I've removed the battery and reinserted, which didn't do anything. Do I need a new battery?
Thanks for any info,

HELP TOO
I am getting a similar thing and I bought it used about two nights ago. Mine occasionally turns on, but 'bombs' out again if used too long
your pocket pc out of battery, charge it again till full......
I too have started having this problem since the weekend! My phone constantly shows the red light whenever on charge with cradle or direct from wall!!!!
Help please!
the red light used to show that the battery are low, you got message or got miss call.... try to check all that first or try to soft reset once....
Thats the problem though, the battery has run flat and whenever I put it onto the cradle to recharge the red light just comes on. If I put the battery directly into the cradle the red light comes on the front of the cradle. This is happening with both of batteries.
Last time the battery on my phone went flat enough for the red light to come on it took 48 hours constant charging before it started to work again...
Maybe your phone has a short in the charging circuit, the battery or the part of the PCB where the battery connections meet the main circuit?
I had this problem with mine.
i left the battery out for about 24hrs..
then put battery back in and left phone to charge for 24hrs..
it then turned on and has been fine since
this things happened when the backup battery is completly dead or dischargd i used to have this problem but i opened the xda2i and recharge the backup battery "ofcourse i took it out "and it has no problem since only that the battery metter is working weird so the problem is that ur backup battery is completly discharge
how to fix this easier just let the xda in the craddle 24 hours with the main battery on it should work unless is blocked the u need to take the + from the backup battery out and put it back on after a few mins and that's it u got ur xda2i working again!!
Hello. I search the forum and didn't notice this one.
On the upper right corner you have a light (led) for power.

When the phone needs charging it lights RED.
When you are charging you phone it lights up ORANGE.
When the battery is full GREEN.
If I put a new battery in it starts flashing orange, green, orange, green..... all the time and with fast speed. (two colours in one second)
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?
Is my battery dead , or something has to be wrong. (i'm afraid to put the power cord into my phone)
Thanks
Is the phone rooted?
Yes, but I don't see the difference here .
I put the new battery in and didn't started the phone yet. And light where just starting to go on.
And now I could think about it.
1. I put the new battery IN.
2. Closed everything
3. Put the microUSB power IN.
4. Charging Light went ON and ON
5. Pull the power cord out in 15 sec. Didn't want to burn the phone.

CM 5.0.5.3
If this is the original battery then I say try to flash rom again. If this a 2nd battery order from a 3rd party, then it could be a bad battery. Does the back get hotter than normal the time it is on the charger?
Go into recovery and reset the battery stats. I've had all sorts of oddities show up when switching roms and the battery state got hung up somehow...Mine was telling me at 90% it was fully charged. Once I reset the battery stats this issue went away.
Worth a shot
Thanks will try.
I have the original battery in my N1 and CM 5.0.5.3 and have some battery issues. Drains the battery like crazy.
The second I have via online internet store (HK) and it's givin me this trouble,
Will reset the battery stats and try again.

New update:
NO it does not help. Just gives me a quick orange and in 1 milisec green light, then one sec no light, and repeats that sequence.
WILL wait for the dock to arrive and charge it then. Don't like to break my N1
For me the stock battery took 6 cycles to get a full days use.
hi!
i was just wondering, my tytn 2 is not charging, when i look at the battery meter, it says charging, but instead of going up. it goes down, the amber light
the signals charging is gone.
im sure its not the battery. coz i did get a charger, the one where u put probes on the + and - terminal of the battery, it charged. the battery is working now. however, i couldnt charge via the phone.
the red light came up before which indicates not charging so what do i do now?
someone suggested to hard reset it. i tried it but nothing. still the same. i reflashed it... nothing... now using the hyperdragon rom... still the same...
any ideas?
btw, when i plug in the charger, amber light is there... however, not for long, light turns off, but the charging / plugged into the charger symbol is there
as far as my personal experience goes, i have noticed this behavior only when the battery overheats while charging. in the hottest weather, this has NEVER happened for me. it only happens sometimes if my device screen is on WITH wifi WITH bluetooth WITH data connection WITH some heavy processing program running. this causes heating of the components and also leaves little power to charge the battery, because most of the charger's power is being redirected to power the components in use.
so, the device will charge for a few minutes and will interrupt the charging if the temperature rises. the charging will resume again when the temperature comes back down.
you can test if this is happening with your device by observing how long it charges before stopping, first without a fan and then with a fan blowing over the battery with the back cover removed.
if the charging lasts longer when the device is being cooled with a fan, then you are likely facing temperature issues.

Edit: thanks to this post, my problem has been solved. Thanks!
So last night I went from stock motorola 2.2 to this wonderful-seeming version of CyanogenMod on my UK milestone - the install went flawlessly, but now I have a problem - my battery is not charging at ALL.
While the phone was on last night after I charged it, it was plugged in, first to my PC and then to the wall socket. In both cases, the battery indicator had a ? (question mark) on it.
I thought it might have been some weirdness with battery calibration so I left it and plugged the phone in from the wall to charge overnight. This morning, my phone was telling me to connect my charger (despite it being plugged in) and on removing the power cable, it died due to no battery power left within 10 minutes.
While plugged in from the wall, the battery indicator comes up but again just contains a ? on it. The little white light next to the power socket never lights up.
If I plug the phone in to my PC via USB then if the handset is OFF, the white light comes on and around 10 mins later it gets enough juice to boot up. The problem is that when the CM7 software starts, the little white light disappears, the phone stops charging despite the cable being present, and it then dies 2 minutes later.
I know the battery is fine because it was perfectly fine before I installed CM7.
Anyone else experienced this problem and/or know how to fix it?
One thing I did manage to do before it died was install a battery calibration app that I found on xda-developers - this told me that the battery was running at 3267 mV - any idea if that's good or bad?
(and yes, I'm using precisely the same cable/charger I was using before I put this version of CM7 on, so I know they are fine - they charge a friend's SGS with no problems)

Try plugging the phone into the wall charger, without the battery. Try and boot it up and let it boot. Once it's booted up, give it a bit and try and put the battery in and leave it to charge.
What happens if you turn off you phone and plug it in a wall charger? If the problem isn't in your battery it will charge fully.
When you phone comes up, try to disable the 1% battery steps in settings. I got a problem with it, and after disabled/enabled it worked fine for me.
Hope this helps.
On plugging it into a wall charger, the phone comes up with its special battery charging screen (i.e. a fullscreen battery level indicator) - no amount of pressing the power button seems to get it to boot properly (with or without the battery).
I'll see if I can get in and get rid of the 1% steps thing later, thanks for the suggestion

Dude, that was PERFECT.
Managed to get enough juice into the thing to get into the menu for a moment and was able to disable the 1% battery steps option - soon as I touch that tickbox, the battery indicator switches from a ? to the charging symbol and the phone starts charging. Thanks a million!
Nop dude, you are welcome
hi all, i replaced my battery with a genuine replacement (pretty sure) and all went smoothly up to plugging in for charging.
I have a green LED light, and no response to button presses - I assume that this is just the fact that the battery will have discharged and needs to get some charge into it - how long should I have it on the charger? At what point should I worry that it isn't going to work?
I still have the original battery so I can swap that in for the mean time.

I'd double check the connection. Make sure it didn't disconnect as you were putting it back together.
thanks ktmom, i went back and checked and it turned out i hadnt properly reshaped the battery to phone which was lifting the connector slightly.
closed her up, charged overnight, and its like having a new Nexus 6 again - it has even fixed an issue with screen sensitivity i was having - i think the old battery must have bulged and was pushing on the back of the digitizer in a certain area. Woo!
4 hours screen on time again!
