My bootloaders currently unlocked...and i am running on GDX on nAa kernel.
If i ever want to reapir my phone with PCC, will it relock my bootloader??

I think YES...
when u repair ur phone via PC ,it actually flashes stock kernel+loader+simlock SO it relock bootloader

Hi. I want to flash Alfs kernel so I must first unlock the bootloader.

Some people said that its ok to not go back to 2.1. But if u r not a risk taker,just go back to 2.1

Its up to you, mine got bricked while flashing a new kernel after i unlocked in gingerxperia (2.3.7)
however when i did everything again while on 2.1 it did work
tried few times unlocking the bootloader other than 2.1 and always failed..
from my own experience 2.1 has better chance of succeed.
Do I have to use stock 2.1 or it's also okay with customized 2.1?

what do u mean by customized? installing themes, launcher, etc? as long as you customize the original rom i think it will be ok.
If you're not sure it's better to download the original stock room.
Cos if it is stock,where do i get the link?

i tried seus and update service but they cant detect my phone..How do i get back to original Kernel?????

You can unlock bootloader of W8 with Flash Tool.I have unlocked BL of my W8 successfully.If not detected automatically, you have to select your device as E15i.

What is the condition now? you can select your device in PCC and attempt repair. You can get back to stock kernel and ROM.

how did you survive unlock BL using w8? my w8 got dead after succesfull unlock BL using flash tool 0.5.3.0. Now, i just wait the repairman to fix it. 7 days already

Unlock your bootloader its easy as rooting. I was scared at first, but when I tried and when it finished, I asked myself Is that all? Trust me its quick and easy. But make sure to follow the instructions carefully, and that ur phone is ok to unlock the bootloader

Ahh I know a good and easy-to-do guide but it's hungarian... but I can send you the s1tool, the BL unlock application and s1tool-relock+a guide in e-mail, just PM me with your e-mail adress.

10W51 means manufactured in year 2010 week 51, phones manufactured last year from week 29 may end in hard brick.
so, in short terms, your phone is old and because of that you don't have to worry about this

Mate, Its to dengerous to Unlocking the bootloader on outdate 11W29+,
Once Hardbrick, you cannot revive ur phone by ur Self, u need to send it in for Repair, and most likely they will change ur motherboard.
But, Maybe Have Someone succesed unlock bootloader on outdate X8?
If yes, yeah ! I want it to, for my 2nd X8

hey dude, well my w8 was on W1129+ but i took the risk and ended up hard-bricking my phone ands as a result had to take it back for repairs... they changed the motherboard (as you said) but didnt change the stickers...
is there anyway i can identify the "week" of my current motherboard?
But with the w8 its waaaay much more risk for a hard brick But the x8 is a little bit more safe ..

Hey Dude,
I think service center replaced the mobo with a pre 11W29 one,
Most likely that the replacement is even newer [11W5x -> 12W0x] than your original motherboard was. There is no way to find out "week" of you mobo except
of the sticker, or maybe you can ask them what the "week" mobo they replaced for you,

Under my battery, it clearly says 11w40, and it's been told to me that you can unlock the bootloader with the number up to 29. Since my X8 is stuck on Eclair, and I hate that, is there a possible way to get a custom ROM, with 11w40?

Its not necessary to unlock bootloader for a custom rom
first root your phone then install recovery
search for a rom for stock kernel and install it
You can use custom roms but you need those that tell "(for) stock kernel"

Just download Gordon gate drivers, pc companion, and flashtool

No just connect ur fone with usb debugging mode on
Then flashtool will detect ur fone then click on plugins on flashtool then click unlock BL then follow steps by flashtool

11w29+ is RISKY. Just because a couple of people have unlocked theirs does not minimize the risk. you were very lucky.
on topic: google is your friend here. afaik, setool2 is an option if you want to go by the paid route.
