[Review] Moko Slim Shell Folio - Nexus 7 Accessories

While searching for a case that's slim, good looking, folio, and doubles as a stand I stumbled upon the Moko Slim Shell Folio on Amazon. Others suggested the Moko Slim Fit which didn't seem slim at all, and the Poetic case which I ordered first. I found the Poetic case to be unnecessarily thick on the back piece and it just felt cheap overall. Compared to the Poetic the Moko Slim Shell felt better made, the plastic case was noticeably thinner, and although similar to the Poetic in appearance, the subtle changes make it look more premium. Just like all other cases with a "smart cover" it doubles as a stand in two positions; a more laid back typing position, and a vertical position for watching movies or playing games. It triggers the sensor on the Nexus 7 perfectly to put it to sleep when closed and wake when opened. The previous version of the case had an issue where the device would go to sleep when folding the cover all the way back, but it has been revised and no longer suffers from that issue. Lastly the case comes with a lifetime warranty from BSCstore and at $15.99 it is almost $10 cheaper than the Poetic, so there is no comparison in my opinion.

Lifetime warranty they say so it doesn't matter, if you have a problem you just get another.

It does look good, the price seems to be fine... I'm just wondering if the front glass will get scratched in time from the metal thingy on the front cover..

That was my only worry but the magnet on the case part is slightly raised so the metal tab doesn't come into contact with the glass.

Bought this for my wife for Christmas. There was still an issue with the magnet turning the screen off when it was opened all the way. Emailed the original seller about it and they said it was a defective unit that was missing the shielding. They're now sending me a replacement for her, one for me, and gave me instruction on how to remove the magnet from the old one to use as an interim case while waiting on my replacements.

Nillkin TPU Case Review[i9023]

I was going to get the mercury case, but from pictures it was way too thick for my liking so I decided to get this case. The case is titled to be silicone, but it doesn't look like silicone from the pictures so I emailed them and they said it was silicone material so I went for it. I received the case and it turns out it was a TPU case. This case feels REALLY thin for a TPU case so it doesn't add much bulk to the phone. This case is tailored to fit the i9023 so ALL cutouts are perfect and fit is perfect as well. Overall, if your looking for a good TPU case which doesn't add much bulk to it I would recommend this. I don't have a mercury TPU case to compare it to, but I'm really happy with how this turned out. The only con that I would have for this case is that the volume rocker buttons were a bit tight so it would be easily be pressed, but if you stretch the case a little it will fix that issue.

I got this case from Here. It took exactly 2 weeks to arrive and customer service is spot on.
Nice. Would have gotten it if there wasn't a hard nilkin case.

Amzer silicone case for nexus 7?

Has anyone bought/used these before, and do they work? I have an s-line tpu case and wondered if its worth it to upgrade to this. -Ara

Amzer is a pretty decent company to buy from, and the skins are somewhat inexpensive. They sent me a few demo items to see if our stores were interested in carrying their Nexus 7 products... The overall fit was pretty snug, the skin seems fairly well made minus the edges which needed a little cleaning up. I didn't have any issues with the skin obstructing any features of the device, and it was easy to slip on and off. Here's a few pictures, hope they help with the decision making:

So just a little more feedback on this silicone skin... I dropped my Nexus 7 while getting out of my Jeep this morning (hands full and in a hurry to get to the office), and the blasted thing landed face down on concrete. If not for this skin I would instead be spending my evening searching for a replacement screen. It's by no means an otterbox, but the fact that it covers around the screen saved it.
Definitely give it two thumbs up!
Amzer silicone case
I got the black one bought at Expansys.com. It feels great, very thick rubber with a leather-like texture, reinforced with the x-shaped, thicker rubber piece in the middle that serves as an outer skeleton and adds extra rigidity. The case wraps around of all of the device without obstructing any holes/ports similarly to an otterbox impact cases. The edges serve the protective purpose. There is nothing wrong with them. They are spaced out more like the protruding edges of balistic cases. I feel confident that if my Nexus falls it will bounce off without any damage due to the case design. I store my Nexus when not in use in the bag inside a Case Logic Eva zippered case for additional screen protection.
We just reviewed one here at the office and the case does a pretty decent job. Not expensive either, so, I'd say worth the purchase.

This needs a bump, I ordered one from amazon.. and it was crap to say the least. I contacted Amzer and even though i ordered from a third party seller they offered to replace it for me for FREE! gotta love customer service! Other than that its a great case. :good:
Nice case!
I have the black one ordered from amazon as well.. It came in very quick . I agree this will protect the device from most bumps and bangs. this is the 3rd case i bought .
I am going to sell all 3 on ebay for a good price if i decide against buying another nexus 7.. not made my mind up. sent two back not sure i wanna deal with the hassles of google device support to order another..
anyway GREAT CASE for the money..

Back in the days of my Asus Transformer TF101 (first gen) I heard a lot of great things from a company called "RooCase", unfortunately I never tried them out and had ordered some poorly cut, mis-aligned cases from eBay.
So when I ordered the Nexus 7, I decided I'd give them a try. $15 for a leather folio style case was not bad in my opinion, plus it had the close to sleep and open to wake features advertised which I thought would be a nice plus. Case and tablet arrived same day, so I've had it since around 8/15.
When it first arrived, I took it out of it's seemingly retail packaging, and it had that noxious new leather (similar to new cheap plastic smell) that I dread. I used it for a few hours and the smell dissipated and is now completely gone. My gf got a TF300 case from RooCase the same day, luckily I let it air out for a day before she used it, so she wouldn't btch and complain about the smell XD
All cut outs align, and there are even cutouts in the back for the speaker. The Nexus 7 fits nicely and is secured using a velcro strap that has held up very well. The multistand option is utilized with 2 pieces of velcro on the opposite of the power/volume rocker button side. The whole inner flap is made of soft grey material which the velcro latches onto to achieve different viewing angles. This had my skeptical at first since I assumed some fraying would occur from numerous attaching and removal of the velcro when done watching somethign in landscape mode, however the material still looks like the first day, and no fraying material has occurred. However, the velcro has lost a noticeable amount of snag, it still sticks and gives me proper viewing angles, however it can be a little loppy and less sturdy than when it was new.
When typing something or even browsing I usually flip the front flap all the way around which had me concerned at first, but no tearing or major creasing of the leather has happened.
The case adds about 3 times thickness, but I'm fine with that. It's slid off my bed a few times and I hear a comforting muffled thud instead of a disheartening electronics slam, and it still fits in my pocket so I'm happy ^_^

No leather tears or wearing from holding it like that:

I also have the leather Roocase. I have the landscape only version. It has a nice quality fit and feel. I did not purchase the case it came with my Nexus 7 when I purchased it off Craigslist. It might be the case for the kindle fire, it does not have the speaker holes. I have been satisfied with it from day one.
It is a bit bulky, but not akward. I have not tried any other cases for the Nexus 7 so I can not compare.

Sinjimoru Sinji Wallet Pouch Review + Pics

Hello, this is my first review of any thing. It is on the sinjimoru sinji adhesive wallet type pouch available on amazon here :
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005ZVVJ1I/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8 . It is about $10 USD.
I originally bought this item because I didn't really have the need for a wallet (I only carry a credit card and ID). Being able to combine my phone and money seemed very convenient to me. It arrives in pretty plain packaging and is very easy to install, peel the plastic attatched to the adhesive part and apply.
At first, it worked great. It looked smooth, and had a very nice deep black color. It felt sturdy and was very stuck onto the back of my phone. It could carry a whole spare anker battery a little snug and a few cards plus some earbuds with ease.
2 months later, here I am. It has discolored and turned almost a navy color. It has gathered a lot of fuzzy little material now and looks very unattractive. It is even ripping at a seam. It still does it's job of holding things and is still very sticky to the back of my otterbox commuter.
Overall, I would rate this item a 2/5. It looks great at first, and does it's job, but becomes very ugly after a month or two. I hope my review helped. I would not recommend buying this product.

I don't have a long term use experience with Cosmos 3x of adhesive pouches I got from Amazon ($5.99 for a pack of 3), but I decided to apply it in a different way inside of the holster. Here is my setup: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39174277&postcount=45
Will start using it once it gets warmer outside and my winter jacket is off I figured pouch itself will not be in contact with my pocket, so less wear'n'tear!
Any thoughts on putting the Sinji pouch (or similar type of stick on wallets) with a bumper frame case? I'm thinking the bumper frame lip will help recess the Sinji pouch nicely.
Put this directly on the back of the phone.

Use a bumper case like this that has no back

Currently using Nillkin Case
Nillkin Smart Wake Up Cover Folio Case
Quality is quite good and my nexus 7 sits firmly
I've had my Portenzo Hardback on my N7 for a long time now. Holding up very well under lots of use.
I have a Red external, black nylon strap, and white internal. It looks similar to the red one in this picture with the exception of the white inside.
That Nillkin case looks great too.
http://tinyurl.com/mtpedjm
This has been working pretty well for me. Makes it much easier to hold, weighs 3.8 oz; no complaints. Although I found it quite funny that they cut out a slot at the side for connecting to the dock when it obviously would not fit with the case on, not that I have a dock.
Moko Slim for the win!...when she's not behind my dashboard
Is the Moko Slim case the only one that has that strap for one-handed use? I really want one that let's me hold it for an extended period without strain.
I've got one of the generic eBay type cases, bought from Amazon, that has the clip style front and it comes with the strap on the inside front flap/cover.

It does have a strap for the hand, along with a place to hold your stylus (one of the few cases that does so, and a well enjoyed feature for me).
I personally don't find the strap to be incredibly
comfortable, and I don't use a it a whole lot. It does, however, provide excellent support for using the device with one (or two?) hands.
The case is surprisingly durable as well, withstanding a head spinning about of drops without the slightest bit of damage to the device (case can be easily dented though).
When you factor in the features, durability and overall slim profile, this case is definitely with your attention. Plus, who doesn't love a stand?
