I have the Samsung Galaxy Camera and a Samsung Galaxy Note as well as a Nexus 7 tablet.
Is there an app I can use on both the Note and Nexus 7 that will let me take pictures with the Camera via remote control?
It would be nice to be able to view what the camera lens see on the Note or N7's screen and be able to click a button to snap a picture.
I haven't tried it personally, but shouldn't apps like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.im.RemoDroid work?
Basic idea being that remotely viewing and controlling the screen should do what you desire?

Any news?
I'd like to use a remote app, but nothing in the playstore satisfied me.
I think we have to wait, there are two apps which should work in the near future.
1. Samsung Remoteviefinder
2. Samsung Smart Camera App
For the time being i'm using teamviewer remote, it works best. None of the vnc tools works flawlessly.

So the Galaxy Note 10.1 is out I am wondering if our phone/phobet/phablet will ever receive (probably by the hands of XDA Developers) the multiscreen function.
We have the same screen resolution and despite processor and RAM, the same specs.... would make our note the best pocket device ever.
I am crossing fingers to anyone make a port of the tab rom to our device!!!
+1
Does the 10.1 have multi screen support?

there is not full functionality available except a paid browser and movie app called overscreen I think.

Yes, it's not for all the apps, but you can see on many videos online that the tab let's you use S-Note, Browser, Galery, Office in a split screen (only 2 apps) even making a fantastic copy and paste with the pen.
It's pretty amazing!
My sons galaxy tab 2 7.0 is seriously putting my awesome N7 to shame!!!
I want the ability to interact with our samsung TV
Does anyone have the following APK's?
S Planner (callender)
Samsung Remote Tab
Samsung Music Player
Samsung Allshare
Cheers

It wouldn't do you any good even with those apk's. They all require Samsung framework in order to work .
There are 3rd party TV remote apps that work quite well though.

Install Astro on the tab, backup the apps to apk files, copy these apk files to your Nexus 7 and install.
Ive just seen the above reply. Never mind.

I can't post links yet, so you'll have to work with me here...
It's called Smart TV Remote Tab by adiroid.
Thanks for recommending my app. I already wanted to present my apps here, but I am still waiting for my 10th post in order to post links
Hi over a week ago I bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note II mobile phone and love it especially some of the Spen functions etc.
But my tablet is a Motorola Xoom II and would like to know if its possible to put the Spen app on my Xoom II eg the one from the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
Thanks

Asked a similar question myself, and the theory seems to no, as the s note app requires the touchwiz framework to function properly.
I have found a similar app called memo in the play store, designed for note again but worth a try (didn't work on my nexus 4 or xoom).
What are you looking for in a note app?
Couple of one's similar to a note is freenote (bad UI in my opinion though), and handynote. Great features but limited colour options on drawing.
Another option is Asus' supernote, can be found as a download on these forums.
Hope any of this helps.

You will not be able to use the s-pen itself on the xoom as there is a layer on the note that allow it to sense the pen. You would still be able to use a regular capacitive touch screen pen though.

I just downloaded Camera Remote to my AT&T Galaxy S4 and my Galaxy Gear running Null19 and it works via bluetooth. Doesn't run full speed but it does do video and takes decent stills
Any way to get it working with stock ROM?

Hey. Literally just got the VR for my Note 5 yesterday and have to admit it's pretty cool. Was wondering if we are contained to only the apps in the Occulus store or is there a way to use the VR apps in the Play Store. The Gear VR launcher doesn't seem to allow you to leave it's launcher to explore other apps on your phone.
I'm still trying to grasp all the stuff I can do on this. Oh yeah, also is there anyway to use this with my DJI Phantom 3?

There's an app for that! It's called CB Enabler for Gear VR (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.youtopiavr.cbenabler). With this app you can disable the autostart of Oculus home when inserting the phone into the HMD.
I use an app called Cardboard for Gear VR that works great.

That one only works for rooted phones, right? CB Enabler works for non-rooted phones, but does cost money.

Highly recommend Package Disabler Pro. You also can put a widget on your screen to disable that one particular file needed, which is "Gear VR Service". You would disable this with program or widget, then start the Cardboard app you want and insert into phone. By the file/process (whatever : ) being disabled, your Gear VR will not try to start Oculus home. You can use some of the Cardboard features to by sliding a magnet on the left side of device to mimic what the Cardboard itself does. Left edge close to top, and sliding up and down, seems to work for me; or find apps that use a bluetooth controller to avoid this extra hassle.

Use search once in a while.?
Some work using the actual Gear VR controls on the headset. I read about waving a magnet in front of the headset and accidentally discovered it was not necessary in most cases. In other cases a cheap Bluetooth controller is a great alternative and a must for games that require one.

You don't even have to use Search, since you can just read the posts already up, as in mine on #9 below! : ) I gave mostly the same answer already, and more specific on where and how to use the magnet. As Developweb stated too, some work with normal trackpad on Gear VR, even when Package Disabler is working and disabling the Gear VR Service process.
