I own the Wind Mobile Canadian version of this phone and would like to inform the developers that the current rooting method that seems to work for many does not work with my phone. A friend of mine has purchased an iphone and has tried to unlock it, i am not sure what has gone wrong but he cant reload the software after unlocking. does any one have any clue to this

One of the most important parts of unlocking the iPhone is reading and understanding the instructions.
Much like reading and understanding the forum titles and purposes of the forums There's a thread for iPhone support which has some useful links.
Can't put the firmware back on could be so many, many different things that it's impossible to help without more information.
what firmware does he have.. 1.1.2 or earlier.
if he has an iphone with otb 1.1.1 or lower it could be unlocked easily. pm me. if newer than for now turbosim from bladox is the way to go....

Hello all i am new to this forum, and i read many posts regarding to flashing a HTC ROM, but there are still couple things i do not understand, and i hope someone can help me answer them.
I got a HTC HD from HK (European Version I believe, because it has orange logo on the battary cover)
I found this version quite inconvenient for me, because it does not support Chinese Traditional texts display when i browse on Chinese website.
I am still toying with the basic HD function, i only want to flash my rom to the CSL CHT rom
here is my question, do i have to do a HSPL or USPL.... i read some post about each HD device has their own ID or model, so there might be a limitation on rom i can flash to, how do i check the model for my HD?
the links on Duttythory are not connecting me to their files, anyone know another way around this problem?
i guess my last question is what is why do we flash the RADIO? I have flashed ROMs (from official website) on my TOUCH before never flash RADIO before.. if anyone can provide me a link with explanation will be helpful.

this is a community, the way you are asking for help sounds very much like you are expecting people to jump and deliver for you
thats not the way forums work, no one here is an employee or providing a service of an agreed level, people here (including the admins and mods) are just people that are here to chat share and learn, some are much more active than others
secondly, you are asking a question that has been asked before and answered before. as you state you are a newbie, then the best place to start for any of us when we are noobs at certain things is the FAQ and if present, the wiki

its not so much "rules" as just the way forums like this are, they are "user forums" and any and all forums such as this expect people to search and read and solve the problem for themselves before asking
if its a question that hasnt been answered elsewhere in the forum (as yours happily was) then ask away and people will be happy to answer you, in their time (giving just 12 hours to get a response isnt long ) if of course an answer exists!
i meant more of a heads up for you so you dont accidently upset people now or in the future so that you are able to enjoy this and other forums and get all the answers you need

i know i previously opened this thread in the development section, and so many other members where complaining that i posted this in the wrong thread, so yeah maybe i did my bad it was my first opened thread so stop hating. I re-posted this so i can get some insight if this is possible.

What you want to do involves changing your imei which is illegal and XDA does not allow instructions on how to do this. Please search as it would have showed you that all these threads are closed disscusing this.

I have searched for any information on Carrier IQ and the Samsung Focus S but have not found any. I have a Focus S and would like to know if anyone knows if this software is integrated or installed on the Focus S and if so, can it be removed or disabled? I had a long converation with Samsungmobile via their Live Support chat function and they less than forthcomming which makes me immediately suspicious.

Wifi works wonderfully, apn settings are all the same, mobile data is switched on, did a battery-pull...nothing.

I think your phone is Europian. I have 2 phones of this model. And in all of India's firmware version of the device not working mobile Internet on European devices. Why that i dont know

Aha! You might be on to something there, thanks iRock. Might have to change to a different rom, shame as I like SaM's very much

Fixed it! I had to delete my APN settings and make a new one, worked straight away.

What do you mean " a new one " how was the new one different from the original APN ?. I'm in Australia and having the same problem. Keen to use this Rom. When I tried I deleted the APN and then pressed restore default settings.

Delete all APN that have your carrier name on (eg if you're on Vodafone, delete each Vodafone APN) then create a new one- MENU/NEW APN. The APN settings are easily searchable online.
Reboot the phone if necessary and - bob's your uncle!
