Hi everyone!!! I've installed the Cyanogen 10 Nightly in my LG Optimus 2x, and, I didn't backup the data... So, I've lost the Google Play too...
Anyway, I've downloaded and installed the Google Play, but, when I open it, it closed instantly!!! So, what can I do?? Should I download some version of the GP specific to the LG? Or there is some trouble with the Cyanogen I've downloaded?
PS: My Cyanogen is cm-10-20121217-NIGHTLY-p990
What;s version of GAPPS?

Hey brow, I'll try this! I didn't downloaded it!!!
Download and flash this as you did with the rom.
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
After that if you want any extra Google apps that's not included download them from the Play store.

I tried many types of GAPPS, let me try this, because the other ones, once I've installed, I coudn't launch the Play Store, and the other, crippled my keyboard!
As soon as I tried this you brought to me, I say if its ok or don't! Thanks!
Bro, I tried this one, and it shows that my keyboard AOSP didn't work so as lots of applications! Can you recommend some Cyanogenmod 10 link and compatible GAPPS' version???
(Just to be clear, the procedure to install is just enter my external SD card, delete the old crippled GAPPS and put the new one, and so, enter on recovery mod and install it from the external SD card?)

dude, you can't install gapps for ics on jellybean, nor gapps for gingerbread on ics/jb and vice versa...
if you have jb (cm10), you MUST install jb gapps...
if you have ics, you MUST install gapps for ics... etc...
procedure:
put the correct gapps zip file on your sd card (internal or external it doesn't matter)
reboot to cwm (recovery)
install zip from sd card - select the gapps zip file - confirm the installation - wait - reboot after install... thats it

someone already posted the link to jb gapps...
have you installed it as described?
btw some of the google apps have to be manually installed from the playstore after you install basic gapps

omg...
the right gapps are the ones that lintz already posted here:
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
cm10 - any cm10 nightly version you like (except experimental cm10.1 but that's not jellybean anyway)
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=p990&type=nightly
can you describe that "crippling" problem better?
afaik, the keyboard has nothing to do with gapps...
btw in your case, i'd start with a clean install of everything:
1. flash rom (cm10 nightly)
2. flash gapps
3. reboot to system
4. complete your account registration and small system settings
5. reboot once more (for luck )

Everything buddy! Sorry, my english is not the best and I don't understand almost nothing about android... I'm almost done here installing the CM10 you gave! I just have the doubt about the GAPPS, if it comes together or if I have to download the other you gave to me...
Another problem... Now, that I've installed the CM10 you gave, appears in my phone:
Unfortunately, phone has stopped.
Unfortunately, messaging has stopped.
So as the keyboard...
then use some searching and reading before you install anything on your phone...
i myself never held an android phone in my hand some 8 months ago and i did some xda forum reading prior any installations...
i dont know what else to say... maybe try a full wipe and start from scratch (but do some xda researching first)
every single question you may have about your phone has already been answered or explained on xda forums... and thats a fact...
btw gapps NEVER come with cm or any custom roms... they always need to be installed separately AFTER flashing the rom...

I'm using the 3/7 gapps because they are the latest version provided from the CyanogenMod gapps mirror.
No idea where the 3/25 build came from. Same as the unofficial CWM 3.0.0.5 that's floating around.

Ah, OK, misunderstood your initial post.
OP - I use the newest ones, lol. What the heck do you mean? Do you wanna know which .zip we flashed, or what actual google apps we use? The last gapps.zip I flashed was around 2/21, home-made .zip (because I don't use ALL the google apps). Since then I just update them form the market. I also was kindly informed that gapps are preserved in a flashover, which is why I haven't flashed a gapps.zip again. Also, the google apps are available publicly and for free on the android market, so after an update I use TB pro to "re-integrate into ROM" (which is the same basically as moving them from /data to /system).
Jason - whoa homey, chill. Gapps are free, and from GOOGLE (and most aren't even open source fyi), not aosp, you, or cyanogen. All anybody really does is put them in a .zip and make it flashable to /system. Feel free to correct me, but really, who cares.

The difference is that I've seen several reports of people getting force closes on the Setup Wizard, and (seeing as Setup Wizard is part of the gapps) there's no way to know if that's a bug in the ROM or because they're using gapps from some other source.
EDIT: It's just a constructive response. One dev for one phone made his own variant of gapps, while the rest of the CM users are using a different set. Troubleshooting is one step easier when everyone is using the same files, especially considering they're "universal" across devices now.

Thanks for your help mafia.
But could you tell a bit more detail, I'm not as good at this as you may have noticed.
What I've done now is to download the Google store and installed it on my mobile, but then I do not know more
I had to enlist the help of a friend to install lacoste mod.

Now that i can see that you have downloaded the ROM. and place it in your SD card
Download Google Apps and place it in your SD card
take necessary backup of your apps from the previous ROM. _- if necessary
Do a clean wipe and flash Lacoste ROM and then flash google apps in recovery and restart your phone. Thats it.
wait till your new ROM boots.. and then enjoy. You should have google apps installed.
follow the below only if necessary -
The first boot might have some display issues which wouldnt show anything.. so just pull your battery out and restart your phone again..

Make sure you are doing all the 3 wipes(data+cache+dalvik cache) before flashing the ROMs.
Also try the different g apps file as your g apps file may be corrupted.

I also tried other gapps files but it didnt work.

Greetings all. I just finished flashing the Avatar ROM onto my Droid 4. I know I need to get the Play Store .apk file installed. The versions I have found via the search option do NOT function on my device with that ROM installed and I am getting tired of downloading and failing.
Would somebody be so kind as to link the .apk for me?
Or maybe I am missing a special way to instal...?
P.S. I have not posted enough on this website to ask in the Dev section under this ROM.

You need to flash a gapps package. I believe the 12/31 build of Avatar is up to Android version 4.3 now. Go to "about phone" and check to be sure. If so, go here: http://goo.im/gapps and download the 20130813 package and install via safestrap. If still on 4.2.2 use the 20130812 package.

Thanks kwyrt!
This is my first phone attempt, I have done a few mods on my tablet. Never needed to do the gapps. I guess I also need to report a problem back to the Avatar dev, as the ROM has an updater that is also supposed to include the gapps and it keeps failing to update.
Now to figure out how to get the package on with safestrap. (I have only used Clockwork).
Worked perfectly!!! THANK YOU!

Wipe cache and dalvik cache. Reflash the ROM. As long as you don't wipe data you won't have to re-set up anything.
Good idea, but my boot loader is locked. Don't think I can keep root if I flash to stock.

Any ARM64 6.0 Gapps, I would recommend micro because you can download the remaining apps from Playstore, but since you are a newbie, take the full Gapps.
