Ultimate jelly bean rom - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys..plzz help..i have flashed dis ultimate rom on my galaxy note..bt since i have flashed dis rom..its eating a lot of battery..when i dont use my phone..it still eats battery..widout evn switchng on the screen. It drops around 1% in every 2 minutes. Is this the rom problem or the kernel or just the battery is getting older and my phone is about 10 months old. Please tell what to do..
Sent from my GT-N7000

did you do clean install on safe kernel?
Did you recover apps and apps data? Best never do this. Apps is ok most of time, app data with a tool like romtoolbox or titanium backup is not recommended by me(only if on same rom version)
can you check if a process is running wild? (settings>developers>cpu something)
Can you read Ahslfords sticky on wakelock (must read this, this can also help in analysing current and future wakelocks across the Android device/OS board!

still haven't pasted a screenshot of the battery graph

Yes i did a full clean install on my phone..full data wipe, cache..

sometimes an Os needs to settle, that could also be the case. Anyways hope you find it and get the Ultimate experience it was build for! Or actually cooked, lol.

Now i am back to stock firmware i.e. ICS 4.0.3. And its running like before..no battery issues now. But didnt understood why ultimate had that battery issue.

i have installed the same rom. it runs fine. and battery drain is ok. aint had it long enough to test wakelocks etc. but seems to be draining fine so far. only issue i have is the time it takes to charge the phone. its chargin really slow. i mean from 51% - 74% its taken 58 mins. i am on philz kernel 3.95. and yes i did do a fresh install (wiping data, preload etc etc). as for how im charching the phone its via my laptop. only reason i can think its charging slow is due to the fact that on laptop the usb mode automatically turns on. and i cant find a way to stop that. any ideas? thanks. and to the op check my thread on how to install it correctly. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2072013

Thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970626

I also didnt have any of these issues..rom was working excellent..for me. But the only problem i was facing was that it was consuming a lot of battery which was not normal. The battery use to last only for 5-6 hours a day. Thats why i flashed stock rom again.

XXLSC of course. Its the latest version of ultimate series

Ohk. Thank u so much. But i flashed that version only.

Drain of battery can be caused by media scanner, sync and other stuffs. Install betterbatterystats and check what's causing wake locks.

Transparent status bar
Hey guys,
My first post here,
I am using Ultimate jelly bean rom v 5.2 on my gt n7000.
For the past few days I've bean learning about editing my SystemUI.apk and I've bean trying to change my status bar to transparent. But, this didn't work.
This is what i did:
1. I got my SystemUI.apk, framework-res.apk, and twframework-res.apk.
2. Using apktool (windows) I installed the apks, decompiled , edited tw-super-status-bar.xml and drawables.xml, and finally I recompiled.
3. I added the Meta-Inf file,re-zipped, and changed to apk.
4. Finally, I zip-aligned the new .apk and introduced it to my system.
I tried several times but it didn't work. Instead, after rebooting, I lost my status bar, wallpaper, long press home button, and notification panel.
What am I missing guys?

Wife's galaxy s

Hi my wife's galaxy s has started turning the screen on at random..and continuously sometimes. This as we know will start ruining the battery.I've had many issues with her ics. For some reason since installing a kernel. It messed it all up somehow the remains of the boot image or kernel etc is still onboard thankfully I still can boot her. Can't apply custom roms at all. I can send an official rom from the PC but that's it. I managed to get gb on. Its started randomly turning the screen on. Fairly certain its not the rom she's had it since last year
Any ideas? Is there anyway to totally strip the phone of virtually everything to the core and start against

If you think its a kernel issue you could run a kernel cleaner script then reflash, but my sgs did this when it got water damage almost exactly as your described

Thanks for the reply do you know where the kernel script is?

Do a nandroid backup. Then copy necessary files to SD card (rom, kernel, modem, whatever.)
Then format /system and do a factory reset. Then do a fresh install of your kernel and rom.
Then in cwm go to backup and restore, advanced restore, and restore her data!
Then your phone is fresh .
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166954 here you go read the guide and flash it , I seriously doubt the other suggestion will work as the nandroid backup restores it to exactly how it was before I mean like if your wifi was left on it will be on after you restore exact, so what ever bug is doing this will almost defiantly restore aswell

It will work we are just saving data like settings and apps.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Ill just back up apps. And SMS etc that's it. Need a new rom anyway

It backs all the system apps up aswell and every single thing so if there is a bug it will restore that aswell... your better off just redownloading the Alps from play market after and using a sms backup app if you want a clean install

Speeding up?

I'm running stock ICS rooted with Speed Mod. And day by day the phone seems to slow down. How to speed it up? Help please.
Sent from my GT-N7000
how did you install ICS?
Try in settings development option show processes and check which one are using your cpu. Then google on proces whats its related to, if you cant see immediately which app could be causing lagging.
Also, another possible cause, did you change governator?

Like baz said- see wich applications are running, and if they are some that you are not using- delete them. If they are system apps, you can remove them with System App Remover (needs root).

but Akilesh hasnt said he has no visible programs running. If thats the case, then install procedure probably was dirty, or kernel install was dirty. Or recovery from backup lol.
Also use newest versions

I'm on newest 4.0.4 with no much programs installed. Also what does a clean install mean? And i always stick to the stock governor.
Sent from my GT-N7000
Try using latest version of Notecore V14 my note even with using criskelo's rom its running alot faster. If your on stock rom you will need to download PC Odin and flash the odin version you will use triangle away to reset the flash counter.

Anyone else having this problem on ICS ROMs...

If your on custom rom dont use appzorter they are in conflict with each other. To organize your apps in custom rom use its own setting, you dont need appzorter. Appzorter is an app for stock rom.
Just took appzorter off rebooted phone and now I'm missing apps.....it is strange!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Check if the apps were hidden by the launcher
Yep no hidden apps...when I use the stock launcher to organise the apps some disappear put when I use appzorter the missing apps appear again...weird...

Galaxy Note Getting Intolerable !!!

I am on latest stock indian jellybean rom, unrooted. My Note has become extreeemely sluggish and it takes ages to open apps. For example, if I am listening to a song, and I try to tag it with shazam or sound hound, they take ages to open and by the time the song has already finished. Secondly, when my friends ask me to click a pic of theirs at any moment, it feels very bad that the camera takes ages to open.
I want to know, if I root the device, and use the greenify app to freeze unwanted system apps, can my phone become reasonably alright. Also if I want to root without flashing any kernal or roms, is it possible. PLease help !!!
I think you should smash you Galaxy Note.
I don't know what a "Kernal" is but if you want to stay stock why dont you just reset factory settings from the phone setting, it will be as good as it was when you bought it.

Install clean master from play store, clean excessive junk and try.

Sorry , but I think you should just flash it to AOSP roms . I experienced what you are currently having right now the sluggishness , it's all Samsung's part to blame , they ruined the Jelly Bean for the Note 1 , I can confirm that ICS was running way smoother than JB too!
Even tried Custom TW rom with JB , still the same laggyness , opening the Gallery app would take a long time compared to other roms. So my advice is to just ditch TouchWiz Jelly Bean for the note 1.
The answer to your problem is simple. Install sweet ROM version 10 with c.o.h kernel and greenify. Then install nova launcher if you want a butter smooth ui. My phone runs like lightning...has great battery life as well. Stock Samsung roms run like crap as they want you to buy a new phone.
Slim Bean 2.0 is your friend. Android 4.3.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
ICS is the only way to go for smoothness. I use 4.0.4 LRK
Sent from my GT-N7000
Use ics if you want stock experience as well as smoothness. Stock Jelly bean for note is total crap. And yes, use a different launcher if you want to preserve 100 mb RAM.

I went for P.A.C. running 4.3.1, and it's a world of a difference! Battery is great, performance is great, and has so many features that it's so much fun to customize.
I do prefer stock, but ICS has that scary bug that can brick your phone and JB for the Note is like a sewer. Thankfully my company is giving me a S4 Mini in the next few days...
The phone is easy enough to root - two files in the main int. memory directory if I remember correctly, and boot into the normal recovery mode to install them.
CM10.2 ran very well for me. Stable, better battery life, more responsive (for a two year old phone anyhow).
I'm currently on PAC as well because I like the extra options, but the cost of these new toys does seem to be minor stability issues, although that could be in part due to the number of memory intensive apps I tend to have running.
Does the exynos hack root app by chainfire work now or not?

No. On the newer jb kernels the exploit has been plugged.

Custom roms based on tw will be able to run it, not CM or AOSP.

And can my note get better on stock rom with root and unwanted apps frozen with greenify, also now what is the best way to root without installing any custom kernel or rom?
Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
Instead of freezing them, just uninstall using tb so will free some space in the system partition. Use the supersu.zip file to root. File can be found in many rooting tutorials in the forum.
