I have CyanogenMod 7.2 on my phone with CronMod memory mod. My internal memory shows that I still have 456 MB of space from my 758 MB ext4 partition. Yet phone show info that I have low storage space. Why?
Which script did you use?
CronMod-INT2EXT4+

That's really weird. It's not supposed to happen. Though I have had some issues like that, it's because you know some parts of the app stay in the internal memory of the phone, they have to be manually moved to the SD over time. Since it's a really small amount of storage that that part of the app takes, it really shouldn't be a problem. But since you have a lot of them installed, you're gonna have to manually move the apps to the SD.
Use Titanium Backup and batch move the heaviest apps you have to the SD and it'll work normally.

are you sure your EXT partition is EXT4? Make sure cuz CWM formats the EXT partition to EXT 3.
Try Cronmod Int2ext+

I heard that for every use of 500mb of external memory we need 100mb internal memory as it store some files every time we install a app...

Sorry, I'm just having no luck getting the fixed IN2EXT4+ to work on an international galaxy ace. the script creates a file in the init.d folder, as opposed to the unfixed version, but it still doesn't mount or recognise the ext partition on the SD card. I've followed your guides very closely, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...
after each attempt, i start from scratch (clean ROM install), and yet I keep failing ;/
I partition using CWM recovery 5, so does that create an ext4 partition or 3/lower?
Thanks for your time

Yeah I did partition it! A few weeks ago it just shut down on me then started in bootloop nothing I did worked until partitioning the drive. How can I fix this? And can I just un-partition reload the rom? Got the step by step? lol

You partition it the same way you did it before. Using clockwork. Just pick 2gb, and 0 for swap and the problem should go away. It will delete all the stuff on your internal sdcard so make a copy if it's important. And then reload whatever rom you like.

Thks.
Is there any limit to the number of application that can be installed to this device?
I'm using app2sd Amarullz script. I've tried Darktremor and also s2e.
But after I installed a lot of applications (only takes about 200MB of my ext partition), I can't install anything more. Everytime I tried, it always get reboot while installing.
but after I remove some apps, I can install it.
i had like 304 apps installed...but no reboot when tried to add new ones...in fact the only thing that happened to me was extreme lags
what a2sd u are using?

yes, after I uninstall some, I can install some. That's why i think the problem is application number or too much partition size that the device can't handle?
I've make a smaller partition of ext4. now it's about 800MB.

why u change u'r partition?

I've opened Root Explorer and open /sd-ext. It's r/w.
that's should be right that, isn't it?
I have more than 250 apps, and i'm having problems - launcher forced close.
Problems disappear if i remove - or quarantine/freeze - apps.
Seeem to me that it's worst with apps that scan for apps list - titanium backup, or others apps manager.
I do not use any a2sd progs - just the native 'move to sd' feature, with the hack to bypass original settings, used to mov e in SD freezed (unused) apps.
Another - separate - issue is memory occupation...
Seem to me that updating apps do not remove the older apps - this is surely true with ROM apps - so i get a lot of memory wasted.
Another - separate - issue is RAM, or run-time memory... Android should manage it on its own - but still i'm not so confident that errors do not occurs with heavy load.

No its the fact that some of the larger ones dont allow for moving by apps2SD so was thinking of links2SD because they are typically symlinked from my understanding so the system doesn't know any different.

Exactly ^^^ when flashing new ROMs it wrecks the app icon link to the actual app even though the app is there and installed. It cannot be fixed except by reinstalling the app and re - moving the app to SD card again. I believe Link2SD you can just reinstall link2SD after flashing a ROM and then reconnect all the links to apps that are already installed and then they all start working again.
Thing is that I have partitioned the SD card and allowed for 800MB of space in FAT and the link2SD script doesn't work with my SGS now that I am on ICS

This is what I am currently doing: I made a 1GB ext4 partition, and i link all my apps to that using Link2SD.
This is working and i maintain about 100MB free on my internal memory. I have seen some other screenshots of ACE users, that somehow trick their phones to thinking that the Sd partition is the internal memory and everythign will automatically install there, and in system storage it reports the total space as that of the partition and not the ~100 MB.
how can i do this? what apps do I need

the more you install app = more dalvik cache
and one day, your internal memory become full.....of dalvik cache
so is there a way to still have everything on the SD card, but also have the phone think that the 1GB partition is the internal memory

You should mount /system from CWM before you install CronMod. CronMod mounts the ext partition of your SD Card as the new /data moving all the original /data files in there. Now certain applications like Google Play, Google Setting, etc needs to be in the internal memory to work properly. Otherwise they will give forced closes. With CronMod, you will not be able to move any apps to internal memory as your new internal memory is the ext partition of your SD Card. While using CronMod make sure to install only the necessary apps as installing more and more apps will make your phone more laggier. Also the maximum size of the ext partition should be 1 GB. Hope I Helped

Since the original /data partition is moved into the ext partition of the SD Card and the SD Card R/W speed is less than internal memory R/W speed, yes, it will lag. You can control this to a certain extent by using Class 8 or above SD Card and only installing the necessary apps. Don't forget more apps you install to ext partition, more laggier your phone becomes
