I can only boot into android recovery 3e, Ive tried all methods of pulling up the recovery screen u guys are talking about to no success ive followed to the T!!! This is the galaxy 8.9 AT&T model!! I also have a ODIN mode screen with green android pic saying downloading..... Do not turn off target (WTF is THIS) im driving myself crazy please ive DL all necessary files and drivers and the power button lower volume rocker isnt pulling up correct screens for me
I need some more information. So you can boot into normal recovery (3e) as well as download mode. That is a good sign.
Can you boot it up normally and use it, or does it just boot loop into the recovery? Do you see a splash screen?
I can boot normally I can use the device everything works fine just trying to go into recovery mode I can't do the only type of recovery mode I get is that 3e. And some type of Odin mode that says downloading
3e is your normal recovery
So how did u root yourn i957 can u please explain with detail if you dont mind id appreciate it greatly i cant for the life of me find install from .zip in any recovery mode i only see update from internal

[Q] Flash Custom ROM with Odin?

Hi,
How could i flash Custom ROM with Odin..
Because
1. I am not able to go into recovery mode by holding Volume up+Volume Down+Power Buttons
2. I could not reboot into recovery mode using adb commands (stuck at at&t screen)
3. I could not reboot into recovery by flashing any kernel with CWM.. obviously i have to use volume up+Volume Down+Power Buttons again :-(
I am able to flash stock ROM through ODIN 1 click downloader (currently on I897UCKI2)..and its the only way i could flash a ROM now..
So is there a way to install custom rom through ODIN ?
Please help...
If you can get into download mode (power off, hold V+/V-, insert USB), you can try flashing a ROM via Heimdall. Apex 12.5 has a package you can flash from Heimdall.
You can also try Mosaic 9, as that has an Odin-based installer package.

Hey,
I'm using samsung galaxy star s5282. I rooted this phone 2 days ago. Everything went good until today when i was i my class it suddenly switched off. When i rebooted it, it hang on the samsung logo.
I tried to boot into cwm recovery mode by pressing v+, home, power but it boots into default system recovery mode.
I again flashed cwm recovery many times using odin but it dosent work. Odin shows pass but when i reboot my phone in cwm recovery mode my phone enters in default system recovery mode.
What should i do please please please help.....
Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install.
applies to all recoveries
cheers

Surenda 1863,
I had exactly the same problem and it took me almost one week of fiiddling and searching the Web to solve it.
The solution was in front me since day ONE : install ODIN on the PC !
In my case, I had I had accidentally wiped out the stock ROM and the tablet was hopelessly frozen on the download mode. I couldn't turn it off to boot it back with any of the usual buttons ( Volume , Home, Power)
I made the wrong assumption that since my PC didn't see the tablet, it couldn't connect to Odin either . I was wrong!
Here is what you have to do:
1. Install Odin on your PC. Connect the tablet to it. You will see that Odin sees the tablet because there will be a caption saying "added" on the top left.
2. Press the AP tab button at the right to go to the location where your Stock ROM is. The stock ROM file will have an MD5 ending.
3 Once the file is loaded (next to the AP button) just press Start. You will see the DOWNLOAD bar gradually filling up on the tablet and at the top left of ODIN.
4. When the operation is terminated, you will see a caption " PASSED" at the top left of he Odin screen and the tablet will automatically boot up to the HOME screen.
As simple as this! I didn't even have to worry about flashing the TWRP ( or CWR) recovery system, probably because the OS ROM was already wiped out. May be your case is different. I only know that in my case it worked like a charm.

[Q] Softbricked my phone... need help!

Hi,
So I try to flash my phone with Odin, but it seems I made a mistake. It's a long story... When I go back to stock rom from custom, I use Odin and my phone goes to a bootloop. Then I try to reflash stock rom with Odin again and I have the same problem every time. I like to clear cache/user but when my phone goes to recovery mode I can't navigate with hardware buttons (not hardware issue) just the power button works so I can't do nothing here. Ok here start a strange part (for me) bc. download mode it's not accessible with key combination just from command line and when I get download mode I try to flash twrp recovey with Odin but the result is sofbrick. My phone not recognized by Odin and adb commands not working anymore. I can't access recovery or download mode. My phone stay on logo and nothing happen.
Thank You for any solution!
