i have a samsung galaxy mini 2.3.6.
i had cm10 with darktremor but app2sdgui wasnt working. even chainfire wasnt working. i i didnt try s2e but please give ur reviews
i googled around a bit and found out that the best ROM would be a gingerbread one ie CM7 . But there are many different versions like rc1,rc5 and whatnot.
for my requirements,(chainfire 3d and darktremor/s2e) which cm7 rom would u suggest?
if there is a better rom which supports this pls inform as well as the zip file to flash it.
PS which is the best clockworkmod suited for this?(bcoz i flashed stockfirmware to start all over again!)
another doubt i had was that sd card has to be partitioned in ext3 format. how to do this? will "Go to Advance>>Partition SD Card>size 4096M>swap size 0" work?
pls help me!
if u know answer to any one also please reply
thanks

thx for the reply but i can't find a solution in the thread you've posted me
EDIT: Oki i found this...i'll try and i let you know...
Check to see if your external SD card is being seen in File Manager via the:
"external_sd"
Folder and if not then your external SD card hasn't been picked up.
Another way of known this is if you have any confusing flashing white screen between the Samsung Galaxy S Screen & MIUI Loading Screen whilst booting the phone up.
If this is the case, then you will have to revert back to a Froyo Rom (JP1 recommended) and Start the process of flashing again.
P.S I'm updating my Guide to include the JP1 rom as standard..!

Kind regards!
You should ask in the darky forum.
Sent from a galaxy far far away.
No it says there you have to put it in Q&A.
well this is a question for darky as the problem lies with his ROM not the actual SGS device....
but anyway. what happens when you try to install it ? does it successfully install or does it fail ?
does it FC or does it not respond ? give more information
You should ask in the darky forum.

Please see teh first thread in this forum it has links to many relevant articles that you might want to read...
I couldn't get all what you mean but here goes it...
To keep your phone memory empty you can move apps to sd-card...Learn more at http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/09/how-to-install-applications-to-sd-card.html
If you are looking for Samsung Firmwares latest is 2.3.5 (not Official for all regions). There are many custom roms (not by sasmung) available to install and most of them are based on GB 2.3.4 (so they are also like latest). Please find more info in their threads in Development section of Galaxy Mini forum.
Updating will remove all your apps, settings, data, etc. and install a new firmware. So, it is a most to do a backup of your apps, contacts and other data first. You data on sd-card will be safe.

i sucessfully updated it
now theres a problem
im unable to root my phone by superoneclick
plz help me
Nothing offensive but that's why noobs shouldn't root their phones.
What android version do you have btw?
If it's 2.3.4 you could try yagya's tutorial on his site: yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/08/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-popmini.html
If it's lower, you should consider flashing 2.3.4.

HI GUYS!
I posted this thread, because in some countries we can buy now just s5830i, not the original s5830.
Samsung gave out a new version of Ace, and now it can be bought in more and more countries now. In some threads there are angry posts, because s5830i users write here, in the s5830 forum. Sorry for these guys, we can't write on any other place, because there isn't forum for us, so we must write here. I hope the Admins will open a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i forum.
Now I'm here because I want to write a summary of the S5830i phone, and of the difference of the S5830i and the S5830.
1. S5830i has got better CPU. It has got 832 MHz, S5830 has got 800 MHz.
2. S5830i can record 640x480 videos with LGCAMERA, S5830 can record 320x240.
3. S5830i has got Bluetooth 3.0 Audio streaming, S5830 has got 2.1.
4. S5830i has got 278 MB phone storage, S5830 has got 158 MB.
5. S5830i has got originally Gingerbread, S5830 has got froyo, but it can update now.
Maybe some more
And this is very, very important!!!
YOU CAN'T USE S5830 ROMS ON S5830i.
There aren't any rom for S5830i, so we have to wait. I'm on it, now just 1-2 day, and I'll be finished with it.
How to root it:
1.Download the file of the second post's attachment! (update.zip)
2.Put in in the root of SD!
3.Switch off the phone!
4.Switch on in recovery mode! (Vol. up+Home+Power!)
5.Select the "apply update from sdcard" (Vol. up=up, Vol. down=Down, Home=select)
6.Choose the update.zip!
7.Reboot system in the main menu!
Gratulations! You're now ROOTED :highfive:
BUT!!! With this, you will lose your guarantee, and your phone may have demage!!!
Unroot:
1.Download the Unroot.zip file in the second post's attachment!
2.Follow the previous instuctions from the second instruction!
If something is wrong, or miss, please write post or PM me!
If you found it useful, just click on the Thank! Just one click!
Downloads
Here are the downloads in the attachment!
Y U late to party ? :silly:
S5830 can record 640x480 with normal samsung camera itself!
And s5830i has same chipset as galaxy y. I also think it doesnt have GPU and uses CPU instead for processing graphics which is a bit lame!
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk 2
The same case happend with samsung galaxy s2 , initially they produce 19100 with exynos, later on they produce 19100G with omap which of course have less dev support.

CM is going to be a bit hard....Broadcom processors...
Yeah, apparently the S5830i has no GPU and it doesn't have Gorilla Glass.
Better off getting the Galaxy Ace 2 at this point, though.
Galaxy Ace s5830i has GPU (VideoCore IV),it cant record 640x480 videos with the stock camera, and has Gorilla Glass.
S5830 can record video at 640x480.

To find ROMs go to GALAXY ACE ANDROID DEVELOPMENT SECTION, there r many ROMs there, read the comments to know which one will suit you and download. Simple.
