Im a noob. I use Sga 2.3.3 Installed cwm5. Downloded root.zip,upd_1.zip,univerzal gb roor.zip. Went to recovery and tryed to apply update from sd card. Wont let me choose files from the sd card just say no update.zip found. so i went to “instal zip from sd card “ tryed root.zip and upd_1.zip got “erorr 7“ message. Univerzal gb root.zip had installed fine but no superuser and Rootvalidator say that devise is not rooted. So what is the next step to get the rooted Sg? Cheers

Forget what you've done. Reflash stock via odin & then flash Clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2.6 for SGA via stock recovery.

External sd, that is stock recovery. You must flash speedmod k3-9 kernel or notecore kernel to have CWM recovery before you can flash zip files.
Do not use the CWM zip there is posibility of hardbrick.

When you press external sd the file you looking is also in the external sd or it will not register.
By the way do not use the CWM zip its bad for your note.
Sounds like you either OTA / KIES updated and lost your recovery -
Flash SpeedMod / NoteCore via PC Odin should sort it out...
Definitely sounds like stock recovery
NOTE: DO NOT use Old CWM.zip method to inject busybox - Install a safe kernel via PC ODIN and then use Triangle away

I flashed CWM 5.0.26 via Odin but nothing happens, still reboots into 6.0.1.4. Pls, someone can help me with this? Is my phone bricked now?

Well I have one more folks. I installed V20J bin and fls thu Smartflash. Phone is doing good but when I go to Rom Manager it says my phone is not rooted and can't find superuser. Superuser is in the root of the SD card. I'm trying to back up my phone. Doesn't seem to recognise the SD card at all
After you used sft the phone boots into recovery,do your wipes and flash super user then reboot your phone

Mine does not go into recovery
then that means your v20j has not been patched with cwm.... install a patched rom thru sft and you will get it to reboot to recovery

Does Superuser have Busybox in the appz?
I could not flash any of Maclaw's rom that is directly downloaded on maclaw's website. I don't know why. I'm using PX Recovery 4.0. What should I do? I want to use Maclaw's AOSP ICS. Kindly help me please.
try flashing official cwm 5.0.2.6 or latest
first revert to stock rom format your sd card in phone then flash the cwm and then try flashing any maclaw rom
you can search for zip file of cwm or go here and flash it via odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465599
HIT THANKS COS YOU WONT DIE

i tried flashing his rom using cwm recovery. and it said the installation is bad or something. installation aborted.
As it says installation is bad then the zip file may not be fully downloaded OR it may be corrupted. The other roms r working right?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
Maclaw's site no more supports resume on downloads & there's a high probability that the file you downloaded is corrupted. Try downloading the file again.

Your sdcard might be corrupted too, so test the advice of fellow and if it doesn't work format your sdcard in FAT32 format using your pc or your phone and then try to flash the rom again
