[Q][HELP] Mobile cant detect network - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Friends,
I updated my ROM to JellyBlur | V1 | 4.1.2 using the below guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038904
After installing rom and gapps, I rebooted my 'W8' phone. Everything was good. But I lost the main function of mobile device:"THE NETWORK" :crying:
I don't know what went wrong. I cant make phone calls as network is not found.
Please help someone.
I tried to manually search the network. But that was of no use. I got a list of networks in search, but i was unable to register the appropriate one.

Check is it on wcdma mode or GSM? And choose as per ur network
Sent from my X8 using xda app-developers app

Thanks for replying leecorp
There is no option to select the type of network (gsm/wcdma). Atleast I am unable to find it. Moreover list of available networks is dislayed, but I cant register.
The error says,"Cant connect to this network right now.............."
Is anyone there with the same problem???
I dont want to repair my phone.:cyclops:

You can check it by enabling '2g only' in network mode.
Hope it works if you are not in a wcdma mode

It didnt work
Done all things again. Still I am at the same place.
I guess the problem is while running msm7227_semc.cmd during unlock bootloader process.
Can anybody explain what actually happens here?

Can u explain what did u done before this happening?
If automatic registration in operator setting doesn't work do this:
Go to "battery use" and touch "graph picture " see there what color is signal line
-red= no signal, means hw damage OR some serious problems with antenna apps
-Yellow & green tells us no problem with hw or sw
Report results
Sent from my ULTIMATE using Tapatalk 2

Earlier I had used "msm7227_Setool2.cmd" to unlock the bootloader. This was the problem.
After unlocking the bootloader using "msm7227_semc.cmd" . There was no error.
Now problem is solved.
Thanks jay-z-s for replying.

[Q] protecting the hansome sgs device

HI guys,
Something came to my mind and wanted to share it with you...
its how to protect my device after being stolen?
I know there are plenty of apps to find the device( through gps remote activation), to erase the contents and release alerts through different ways.
BUT WHAT IF
somebody had stolen your phone , pull out the battery, then boot it into download mode (3 buttons combination that every one knows), and finally flashed it with any rom by using ODIN ???????
the question here;
IS THERE ANY WAY TO PASSWORD PROTECT THE ACCESS TO BOTH RECOVERY &/OR DOWNLOAD MODES IN THE DEVICE, SO IT CAN BE USELESS FOR THE THEIF ???
i hope u understand my worry here
cheers
I think that's called STEAM. Go search and read more of it in the development section.

sorry mate, forgive my ignorance, but is it an app ?
Unless they can change the IMEI then as soon as it is used on any network it will be locked and barred by your service provider.

but if the developers can restrict the access to the downloading and recovery modes,,,,then its virtually impossible to even change the imei, is it right ?????
The IMEI is hard coded and encrypted in your phone.if you mess with the efs folder and the IMEI over there does not match what is hard coded, you get an invalid IMEI and your phone's network capabilities will be limited.
Btw, steam is a sort of recovery.

Which Rom do u use.....is your bootloader unlocked....?
Sent from my E15i using xda premium
U manually selected it? Didn't u try automatic?
Relock bootloader! Problem is because you use MSM7227 tool for unlocking bootloader. Some people doesn't have mobile network after that.
So just relock bootloader with S1TOOL. Install flashtool, connect phone with usb debugging and go to plugin in flashtool and click unlock bootloader!
Here is my old tutorial:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb9e99VT3Os
just turn off the phone and take off the sim card and turn on the phone, then power off again and put the sim this worked for me
Ya relock the bootloader my friend too had the same problem......

Fix for no WiFi connection when Sim is active

I imported my HTC first from America and a major problem I found was that the WiFi didn't work. I was prepared to return my phone citing hardware problems but I waited and instead tried to find a solution by myself. I finally got it working.
This thread is for all others who have the same problem that I did.
Temporary Fix
1) unlock boot loader, root and do s-off
2) you must be running ruu 1.08.502.1
3) make your way to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445766
There you can see many people have the similar problem.
Follow the instructions and install the app by the OP
(Make sure push the wifix app in the /system/app folder) verify the app is working properly by dialing the code given in the other thread. Open the wifix manager and set code to 'us'
4) if you read the thread you will see the app works for android 4.0 but most users having jellybean report it as not working
5) try the steps of post #250 (I used the AT&T code)
6) now whenever you restart make sure WiFi is switched OFF before reboot. When your phone boots up again make sure you're getting network signals, then open the market changer app and select AT&T. Then turn on the WiFi.
7) your Wi-Fi can see and connect to access points!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE 13/5/2014
WIFI NOW WORKS 100%
Ok with a lot of digging around I finally managed to fix my wifi. Sim inserted or not, wifi on/off at reboot or whatever, it doesn't matter because wifi always works. And no need for any annoying apps to run at boot!
For this method I had to endure a lot of headaches -_-
Had to search the whole internet, learn about adb commands, logcat, compiling .jar files etc
1) unlocked bootloader, rooted , s-off and running deodexed 1.08.502.4 . I did this on a clean install with no wifix/wifi codes/market unlocker
2)
First you have to learn how to compile and extract jar files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251719
You just have to read "1. How to Decompile and Recompile *.jar file or classes.dex"
3) THIS STEP NO LONGER NEEDED *Removed*
4)
You need to read this too:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2628707
modify "framework2.jar" which is present in /system/framework
And after you have decompiled, open on your PC
classout/com/android/internal/telephony/MccTable.smali
recompile framework2.jar , put it back in androids /system/framework and set permissions to Rw-r-r
Now we have to modify another file
This time its the /system/framework/framework.jar
after decompiling open in PC : classout/com/android/net/wifi/WifiStateMachine.smali
and edit as per the second post in the link, recompile and paste it back into system/framework,set permissions to Rw-r-r
Note : its best to use adb commands to copy and paste the framework files from android to PC and vice versa
(namely adb pull and adb push)
then do some extra steps:
"Extra step 1
click on "/system/build.prop" and open in any text editor(on android);
seek line
ro.product.locale.region=GB
and change GB to US; confirm OK for save file.
mount /system R
Extra step 2
because of first boots, in Settings database is written our country code,
which should be US.
for this: install "Sqlite Editor" (android app), run, grant ROOT access. after program finds
& lists databases, look for & open "Settings Storage" > settings.db > global:
find "wifi_country_code", select it and press menu button > Edit Record;
change value to US and press "save" "
Reboot.
Congrats!! Wifi now works no matter what you do!
(as long as your wifi is on channels 1-11 , if youre on channel 12 or 13 then I think you need to change wifi country code to an european country instead of 'us')
Note: Be sure to thank the original authors in the threads i've linked.
As usual, do these steps at your own risk, I am not responsible for your bricked devices. Do report if it worked for you.
Also I know i've made quite a bit of mess. Do tell if you have any problems with the steps. I was thinking about posting my own framework.jar and framework2.jar but i'm not sure if they are safe to share or they contain private data. I'll need to confirm from someone.

htc one m7 sim lock after JTAG rescue

Hi All.
I just received my M7 from gsm service. They fixed my mobile via JTAG (bootloader, imeil and flash) so now I have the most recent stock software, but now I'm experiencing a problem with my SIM. Phone asks me for SIM IMSI UNLOCK PIN so I enter 12345678 or any other random digits, receive msg "phone unlocked" but the phone restarts and asking again for code... I bought my phone without any sim lock.
Is there any method to fix it without JTAG solution or I have to send my device to gsm service again.
Regards.
Anybody knows?
I refresh this topic. Does anybody know, how to fix this unlock problem?

Believe me I know the network lock problem is aggravating beyond the realm of aggravation but we are trying to come up with a solution as we speak. I will post an update as it happens or as soon as I test it on my device. and the developer deems it fit for the thread.

a developer named Dexter came up with the htc unbrick project. What this does is recovers the HTC one from hsbl load (whatever) from being bricked. In this load of files there is a emmc recover folder that I wonder if it can be used to remap our emmc chips. From what I understand the emmc chip is whats cross checking the modem and not letting the unlock code work.
After all my phone was bricked and I sent it to be jtaged and now its basically a "around the house" tablet.. So at one point it could be revived with dexters unbrick solution so there has to be a fix.. thoughts?
same problem with me after riff resurect
hi expert i have also same problme in htc m7_ul...after dead boot repair...need solution ..if anybody solved this problem ..plz share here..
many thanks in advance
And I do the same. . .
I thought the riff is right and now I'm locked.
If you found a solution to the problem.
Please be share here. ! ! !
