music remote control app? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use my I pod for music mainly cause of the physical buttons that allow me to track skip whilst the device is in my pocket tho am interested to see if this would be possible with the note by using the remote control, like is there an app that would make the music player recognise a double click on the volume remote in the included headphones as a skip, or is there a non blue tooth remote available that would do this, I haven't found any

Poweramp does that. You can configure in the settings how the app responds to the headset buttons, e.g. double press or tripple press to skip to the next track.

[Q]music app where we can switch music( in earphone with volume button )?

hi everyone ..is there a way to switch music using note earphone while playing music??? if yes plz hlp ..if no plzz create it
search for android headset button reassign or something similar. there are apps in the market you can assign different actions for different buttons and clicks (like double or tripple) with.
There's a free Klipsch app on the market to go with their S4A earphones, however the app seems to work other one button headsets as well.
I'm assuming by switch music, you mean skip tracks. If so, you actually can: it's double click of the play/pause button but your timing has to be dead on (a slow full press then an additional click) which is not ideal but easy to get used to once you discover it. You can adjust the timing and functionality using this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.kober.headset&hl=en

I'm not sure if he's asking about changing music with the headset controller or the note's volume button (when the headset doesn't have a controller).
Is there an app for the 2nd option?

[Q] Music Player - Long Press Volume To Change Track

Hello,
Can't find any option / thread that talks about this, on the SGN.
Is it possible to change tracks (next / previous) by long pressing the volume keys (either on the phone or on the headphones)? How? Third party app? Which?
I'm running ICS 4.0.4 LRG with SGS3 Music Player patch.
Thanks,
I don't think there's a system wide option for that in stock roms. It's present in CM9 and other custom roms.
You can however use it with PowerAmp on any rom, you need to enable it in the app's settings though.
+1 ^^
Its a mod, So it wont work with the stock music player, Theres a mod for it in the themes n apps section.
It also works with PlayerPro (what I use)
EDIT: Theres a few apps on the play store what might help, some are free some are paid https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...kPDICg&usg=AFQjCNHvRei_nrOsfmAxgPVXuIgOYQbBvw

I have installed Poweramp Music Player (Trial) but it seems that the long press is not working on the note. In the options I can only find options for the headset and, even enableing that, doesn't work. Maybe it doesn't work with the Volume rockers on the device itself, only with headset (I don't have here my headset to test).

Can you pinpoint me to the thread with that MOD? I've searched and couldn't find it.
That app is just for headset, also. I would like to use also de volume keys on the Note.
Its actually part of RocketROM, Its the tweakbox app that allows this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1654838 But it only works for headphones, Why would you need to use the phones volume keys ? Your obviously holding the phone so you can just touch skip on the lock screen
And the soundpackage Mod with beats and walkman music app is https://dl.dropbox.com/u/69014495/SoundPackage_RocketRom.zip
Also, For your poweramp issue, To skip track you need to double click the play button (if you have one? I do on my beats headphones) Same applies to the stock music app too i believe (havent used it for a long time)

Well, I don't always use an headset with keys and its easier to put the hand in the pocket and long press the volume to change track than take it out, unlock the screen, go to the player and skip track.
Anyway I'll test tonight the original headset with the buttons, and PowerAmp.
Thanks.
haha when you put it like that I guess it is
keep us posted !

Change song with headphone controls

Hello everyone, is there a way to make sure that the buttons to change the volume on the headphones can change the song?
thank you very much
[DELETE]
Yes just doubletap the answer button , triple to go back or something like that test it out for yourself
I use the philips headset app (free in the play store). Allows you to control your music player with the single button on the headset, adjust the button press settings, and tune the sound a bit. I've tried a few of the other free control apps and found this one to be the best free app to do the job.
The best feature of this app is the fact that you can adjust what the button presses do...with other apps you have to pay in order to get that function.
Everything works perfect and thank you all for your help

[Q]Headphone controlz (Noob question)[Q]

Ok so we all know the stock Samsung earphones that come with the Note and I guess other phones too.
You have 3 controls, but I can only do stop/volume up/down.
Many times when I wait a bit too long after I stopped my music with the stop button(On the earpiece) the music doesn't want to restart, until I either reconnect the earphone or press play @ the player.
And the other problem is that I can't skip tracks with the volume up/down button, I did that before by doing a long press, but now it only changes the volume.
Rom: LSC Stock
Kernel: Philz latest
Player: Poweramp full version
poweramp has headphone control options, you should be able to configure it to skip track with double press.
Or you can use one of the many apps in the play store

I think I've tried out all of the options in Poweramp, but nothing seems to work.

Anyone Else Find The Volume Slider Very Useful on Chromecast?

One thing I like about Chromecasts is that the major apps that first came out, Google music, Avia, etc., have a volume slider. My Roku 3 does not have that option even though there are volume + and - buttons on the remote, which works only for the headphones.
So why does a volume control on an app even matter? Well, one of my sound systems has a tendency to be either too loud or too soft - in other words, the sound increment is too large. Another system is hooked to a 3 piece PC speakers set. There's no remote so manually walking up to turn up and down the volume --whenever a song is too loud and the next is too soft -- is a hassle. Thus, having the volume control on the app is great!
However, I see that not all Chromecast apps have a volume slider, which kind of makes it incomplete -- at least to me. The apps I use the most for streaming are Avia, which has volume slider on the chromecast icon; BubbleUPNP which has a slider but only if you go into options/Play Now/ enable volume slider - it works great; and Plex, the volume is located in settings icon when playing movies, but there is no slider to be found when playing music.

All the Chromecast-enabled apps I've used so far have obeyed the hardware volume keys while casting.

It didn't occur to me to test the physical volume buttons on the casting device to see if that work. I usually use the app's onscreen volume slider, at least with the apps that have it. I went back to test the apps that lack an onscreen volume slider and so far these apps do allow volume control via the physical volume buttons on the device. This should solve the problem, unless for some reason the buttons don't respond. Thanks for the tip!
Wow! Perhaps somebody from Google heard my calls! Chromecasts finally remembers volume settings across apps. I've tested it and it works great.

"That one deals with the volume level. Google mentioned how this Chromecast update brings a fix so the audio volume level will remain the same across sessions. Basically, this means you shouldn't have to worry about flipping to the Chromecast to be greeted with a super high (or super low) volume."
