Hey everyone!
I am sorry if this has been answered earlier, but I couldn't find it.
I really miss autofocus functionality in video camera... Is there any fix/app to have continuous autofocus in video camera??
I am using stock rom 2.3.6 (not rooted) on Galaxy S Plus.....
Another question...
Will rooting void warranty here in india?
Thanks

+1 !!!
I don't know if there is any option for that.
But you are able to zoom during recording with pinch to zoom.
I don't know if any adjustment is being made during zooming, this might be a workaround if it is.

Hey friend!
Autofocus isn't related to zoom.... Its something related to optics where lens adjusts itself to bring things into focus.....
Autofocus is available in still camera mode but missing in video camera....
Many other phones have this (even cheaper Wildfire S)....

Yes. I know what autofocus is
I thought there might be a possibility to trigger it although it is not active during a normal recording.

Guys... i9001 is using exactly the same camera sensor as i9000 - ce147 from NEC. The only difference is its driver in kernel and fw [libcamera.so] (but that shouldn't count in the case of continous AF), and finally camera firmware which is located in /system/firmware. You can try to replace files in that directory with those from the most recent i9000 fw and update them with command: *#*#34971539#*#* and choosing "Phone to CAM FW Write" option. After that continous AF function should work If not, replace Camera.apk from i9000 too.
Good luck!
EDIT:
Latest i9000 camera firmware files are now attached to this post. You may try to push them to your device and flash camera firmware with command: *#*#34971539#*#* and choosing "Phone to CAM FW Write" option.

If you have no root privileges, you will not have access to the system folder, so replacing existing files is impossible.
BTW. Why not root?

It's not about how you brick it, it's about them trying to prove it.

I got a samsung galaxy s advance and tried updating it to jellybean. After the update was downloaded and i guess installed, it was restarting. Now it won't at all turn on, no logo nothing.. I tried going into recovery or download modes but the phone still doesn't respond.
Recharging it doesn't make a difference either.
What should I do to get it to at least light up again ?!

Is this problem related to Kernel or some chip problem?
If this is kernel related Plz suggest me kernel(not stock) and custom ROM (4.2.2) for my device.
I will revert back if or not i get my solution.

I have tried everything possible on the software part i.e installing roms and kernels....but no result
I think this might be problem from hardware side(Battery, its connectors etc)

Try several different cameras, such as focal, picarts, vsco cam and see if there's a difference.
If that doesn't work you can try reinstalling the firmware yourself.

Since it's not an app issue then it's either firmware or hardware. Since hardware is the least likely and also the worst possible outcome, I'd follow the above link and reinstall the stock firmware. Try doing a factory reset first if you'd find that easier.

It's somewhat unlikely that it's a hardware issue but it's still possible, more so since you've flashed fresh stock firmware. Your warranty is already void at this point (there's ways to "unvoid" it) despite the fact that you've flashed stock firmware. Flashing sets of a flsh counter regardless. I can link you to information on how to remove this later if you like...
You should try flashing a non-stock ROM such as CM or SlimBean, or even the deodexed stock ROM and see if that makes a difference. You can flash back later and use triangle away and unroot the device to return its warranty.

Even if it happened after OTA, could possibly just be bad timing.
