[Q] Phone switches off even though it showed 40% battery - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have a peculiar problem, The phone drains off faster than usual for last few days. In couple of instances it showed 40% battery and suddenly the phone got switched off. When i switch on it showed 0% battery and again got switched off. When i put on charger it was back to 40%.
Also full charged battery drained to 25% in 5 hours, earlier it used to come atleast a day. Battery also looking a bit fatty in its surface. Any pointers if this is the battery problem or any calibration issues? I use the stock kernel - 2.3.6 and this is there since few months. The problem started only few days back.

This happened to me too and it turned out it's a battery problem.
When I changed my battery, everything went back to normal.
If you know somebody who owns a similar battery, you can test it on your phone.

note 3 battery life issues

Been having weird battery life issues the last week or so. Like this morning I pulled it off the charged dropped down to 92% within 5 mintues of taking it off the charger. Then last night it said it had 30% battery life left and then suddenly turned off I turned on the case charger and it showed the battery was dead and now charging once I turned it on. Have factory reset and reset the battery life stats and no change. Ordered 2 new batteries to be on the safe side. Have 3 batterys need to try it on all 3. I know for sure it happens on 2 of them gonna try it on number 3 here in a bit.
update
put the 3rd battery in and so far been at 100% longer then the other 2 ever where. So battery issue. Will leave post for others that have similar problems

[Q] My 1 year old Nook's battery (stats) is doing weird stuff

So I've never had a problem with my battery at all. I easily got 6h of screen on time and everything was great.
Recently my Nook started to randomly shut off at around 20-30 %. It "popped" and it was off. Didn't reboot either. Like the battery was dead.
I would have to charge it again to be able to power it on.
Also the stats seemed to be off. The lockscreen sometimes told me it's fully charged and whenever I unplugged my Nook it wasn't fully charged. The battery LED also sometimes flashes green/red during charging.
I only get around 2-3 h of SOT at the moment.
I tried reflashing a couple of times (with full wipes) but the problem occured again.
So my question is: Are my battery stats messed up? Does it just stop charging at a certain point because it thinks it's fully charged but it isn't in reality?
Any ideas (on how to fix this)?

It's almost sure that you battery is degrading very fast. But its my advice to re-calibrate your battery. Set your screen brightness to max setting and leave it on until it shuts down. Now don't power it on. Leave it charging for around 2 and half hour.
Now install geekbench benchmark app and test your battery.
If you heard a pop noise, the battery probably delaminated/micro-exploded. (Li-Ion's tend to swell and fail from the heat of (over)charging.)
There's a company, newpower99.com, who has a YouTube video on replacing the battery in the HD+. The battery sold for $25 US last year, but now that our batteries are beginning to degrade, they're out of stock.
I found another site selling replacement batteries for $80. (portatronics.com)
I've noticed that my screen-on time has dropped from 6 hous to 5.5. Maybe the Nokia N1 will be available and rooted by the time I hit 3 hours.

I'm having the same issues, and reading this reminded me of trying BatteryCalibration to reset the battery since my nook HD+ stock OS is rooted.
I had this problem several times before I installed CM. Usually, it happened when there was an update available, and when the Nook started to update, it factory reset itself.

Is dead or not?

How this started: battery drained empty when i was out and after 2-3 hours whn i arrived home it won`t started at all, left on charge more than an hour. I gave the battery a shock (it worked) and than charged it.
I have almost a week since my phone battery drains very very fast (5 hours max) and is getting very hot, in the lowest part of the phone, sometimes it warms up even if is not in use.
Another weird thing is that if i restart the phone battery drops a lot, even 30%.
I tryed many roms (Ivan 5.0, Ivan 5.1, CM12 and MIUI - latest developer).
Any ideeas why i get this?
Is battery dead?
guess battery is out.
I'd suggest you to grab a new one ASAP.
I've had my battery drain all the way dead a few times where it doesn't seem to charge through the mi2 usb port. Luckily I have the external mi2 battery charger and that seems to charge them fine regardless of how dead they are.
On a side note, probably unrelated to the over discharge, In the fall I had one battery go bad which caused the phone to reboot from time to time, replaced that one and have had no problems since.

[Q] Battery

Hi guys, I've a problem with my one.
Sometimes the battery percentage get stuck on a value for a long time, even if I keep stuff running (that usually drains battery). Tonight happened again in such a strange way..
The phone turned off yesterday evening at 0%, so I plugged in, turned on the phone, used another bit and than setted in plane mode so I went to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed the green light so i took the opportunity to pull the plug (to avoid overcharge). This morning i notice battery percentage at 77% and battery stats with no app activity with cronology time on 32mins (I pulled the plug 4/5 hours before). Now I'm using the phone from more then an hour and it's still at 77%.
Is this an hardware or a software problem? I have stock rom update to lollipop version.
Do you know how can I try to solve this?
Also if i leave the phone unplugged at night it battery drops down 4/5% and in the battery stat i can see "standby 100%" with 100% of the time "without signal".. in the battery cronology wifi bar looks always active

Battery calibration messed up

Hi I rooted my phone a few weeks ago hoping fir better battery and performance when needed but every since tge battery calibration has been messed up, for example earlier I was using my phone to music through ear phones and looking through Facebook (using 4g) it said I had 73% battery left but then died, phone was charged to 100% over night and only had about 35 mins of actual on screen time.
Ive tried many different battery calibration apps but none work.
Sometimes when the battery completely discharges and turns off and I plug in the charger it wilk give me the actual battery % but when I turn on the phone it will say 40% even though its actually only 12%
Should I use a different rom? Can someone recommend me one for my c6903 please
