Hi,
Off later my mobile's battery has stopped charging to 100%
It started while I was using the Paranoid Android ROM and I thought it was due to some kernel issue. However, post that I have flashed other ROMs including the stock ones but the issue remains.
I had installed Android Tuner and it showed that battery is in good health and the scale is 100%
Has someone faced similar issues? Please share solutions if any

Have you tried wiping the battery stats in recovery? Otherwise try some battery maintenance by letting it completely drain and charge again a few times over.
Hi
Yes I wipe the battery stats when flashing a Rom.. Have also tried discharging the battery completely and then charging it but no improvement..
If there is any specific tool for battery maintenance then I can give it a shot..

I had the problem earlier, drain your battery completely , take it out , after 5 mins plug it in then switch on....let it completely charge

Hmm, my only suggestion is to try yashwantpiduru a few times over. Also, until you get this sorted, try only charging it using your computer to get a slow charge. Don't "rapid" charge your phone using the AC adapter.
Other than that, you may require a new battery, even if it's reporting "100% health"

I switched to serendipity 5.10 from perception 10.4. I currently have speedmod and kp1. My problem is my battery. The very first time i flashed a rom I didn't do it on a full charge. I've tried the bump charge and deleting batterystats.bin file etc etc... Nothing helps. Could I have damaged the phone/battery for good? A full charge lasts about less than 8 hours with moderate usage. It was fully charged and I let it sit overnight off the charger and lost 12% by morning.

Um.. are you overclocking it? If you are that will kill your battery if your not tweaking your voltage settings.
I don't overclock my phone - so unfort I can't help you with under volt settings, etc.
If you think your battery was broken after flashing - you can test this theory. Flash back to stock - charge up the battery then run as normal and see if you get a normal usage then you know it's the ROM (*) and not your battery.
Actually no I haven't done anything with over or unclocking. I did try that before with stock and it was the same. And I did get another battery also so its the phone not the battery. I guess i just have to live with it

Try to completely empty the battery by rebooting after your phone shuts down because of low battery. Keep rebooting it after it shuts down again till it doesn't want to boot anymore. Till the battery is completely empty.
Then Charge it again and leave it on the charger for more then 20 hours.
Don't know if it's gonna work but give it a try
EDIT: Q? are you using a custom ROM ??
Ok I'll give it a try, thank you. I have this problem since i flashed a modaco firmware and wiped my battery cache via cwm. Anyone else having those issues?

I reverted back to stock on my O2X and I can get 48 hours out of the battery. I had the same issue as you and reverting back to stock seemed to cure it too.
Just an FYI I thought I'd share.

Sorry, should have given more detail. That 48 hours is with general browsing and social networking with a fair bit of video recording and camera use. No 3G though. All data was over WiFi.
Certainly not just stand-by though.

No full power use of the processor i understand
i thought i had the problem too with the MDC fear 5.3 but it just jumped from 98% to 100 after 10 minutes so its probably a mistake which solved itselve if you charge it long enough.

Didn't work for me, i did it exactly this way, charged it for about 10 hours, booted in recovery, wiped the battery stats and it stills shows 97% when i boot it. However, it's not a disastrous failure, i can live with it and hopefully it gets fixed sometime.
Finally, i found the solution for me. After i reflashed the stock rom, where this problem doesn't occur, i flashed a modaco rom again WITHOUT WIPING THE BATTERY STATS. Now it's all working fine, i charged my phone to 100% a few minutes ago. Hope it will help some of the people, who are still having problems.
Does kernel version has anything to do with this issue?
Don't think so, i tried the stock, Paul's kernel from FR12 and the EternityProject Kernels 1.3 and 1.4, it was all the same until i tried reflashing without wiping battery stats. For the record, i flashed the new TK-Rom V 0.6 with the EternityProject Kernel 1.4.

i don't think so...
and i also try with S3 charger, the problem is same
when you connect the charger, does the phone display it charging in the notification bar or lock screen?
when you say 27%, does it mean it was always at that or it reached there from some other % after 3 hrs and it's very slow charging?
If there is no notification, and you have changed the charger, then check inside the micro use port for some foreign particles. If not that too, may be you have a faulty usb port

yes, i am on Stock ROm 4.0.4, Hydracore kernel v5.3
if the kernel is also affect?
First of all I would suggest HC 4.3 std kernel. Then, go into recovery -> advance -> wipe battery stats.

Once I had similar problem - my bat. was getting stuck at 92%. I wiped the stats and everything went back to normal.
But first of all change the kernel to 4.3 Many people (including me) were complaining about the battery drainage.

How about Hydracore Kernel v7 ?
THIS BUG CAN DO HARM TO YOUR BATTERY! BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHEN THE BATTERY DRAINS!
As we all may encounter the battery bug after upgrading to .423 fw. When one restarts his phone, he has chances that the battery level of the phone rises (e.g., I turned off mine just now at 26% and turned it on showing 51%). This has been confirmed by many users in the forum, so I believe it is a firmware level bug of 4.2.2.
Is there any one willing to pay some time on fixing it? Coz this is a quite crucial bug for us, we dont know when will our phones automatically turn off! Thanks in advance
I believe its not a caliboration thing coz we also upgrade or wipe our devices before, and no such thing happened. I think its a firmware or kernel level bug. Does anyone who flashes a custom kernel also encounter the same problem?
It seems that Spanish FW is free from this bug.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43261281
plz report your rom or base FW in the reply. Thanks.
[NEW EDIT]
It seems that I fix the bug. The battery jumps when the phone restarts, so I think there is something during boot which causes the issue. I delete the XZDualRecovery, and test the phone several times, and its fine!
Deleting XZDualRecovery might be a temporary fix, so you can choose what to do
[NEW EDIT 2]
someone reports that they dont encounter the bug and believes that its the calibration thing. i declare again that i DID the calibration and the issue was still there. for me, at least, deleting XZDualRecovery fixes the bug. plz report more details in the reply, like fw, root or not, recoveries. Thank you
I don't think there is a bug here.
Never happened to me,cause i did full wipe while flashing.
Maybe it happens only for users that didn't wiped everything.

hello all me too experienced the same problem but I successfully regained my battery life. Here is what I have done....
1)First I drained the battery fully until mobile gets switched off
2)Then I left the mobile to cool off for half an hour
3)After that I charged the battery upto 100%
4)Following this I switched on the Mobile and did the battery calibration by using 'Battery Calibration' app
5)Again I fully drained the battery and charged it again to 100%
Now the battery life seems good. I checked this by using WiFi whole night....battery lasted overs 12hrs

This is exactly what I concern. I dont know when my phone is going to off, and it could be big trouble when there is no access to the charger.
Maybe we just need to recalibrate, drain battery to 0% and fully charge it to 100% while the phone is turned off.

I experiencing the same issue. 2% to 55% after reboot. wow... 4.2.2 doesn't bring anything for me to consider to keep it. so back to 4.1.2 (.4.3.4)
But one thing for sure (never discharge a lithium ion / polymer battery from full to 0 they don't like it) you could do that with nickel cadmium/ metal hydride batteries ant they really thank for that if you keep doing that you just kill your battery before its due time.
Anyone can help me about this problem? I"m using CM10.1.2 stable and my problem is all about the life of the battery. I full charge my droid in 100% and use it normally then from 80%, it falls to 45% without using any superb app, just common like facebook, etc...then from 30% to 15% . Did it just start doing this? I actually noticed this happen from time to time on about every ROM I have tried, including CM10.2 which I am running now. But it's not all the time. Just a once or twice a month it seems. And it's usually happens when it hits about 40% or so, then drops like a rock to 15%. If it's happening a lot I would try booting back to stock or running a different ROM and see if it does it there as well. If so it could be an issue with the battery. You could also try installing BetterBatteryStats (it is free here on XDA) and see if that tells you anything.
thanks for the reply sir

Hi, I also get bad battery life when I'm on Cyanogenmod 10.1.3, but I got better battery life when I installed 10.2 although I also installed less apps. Have you checked BetterBatteryStats XDA edition yet? It tells you information about kernel wakelocks that could be draining your battery life and you may be able to use this info to fix problems in your phone to improve battery life. And of course when the battery meter reports 20-30% percent it will drop like a rock by 10% (I also experienced this in the Stock ROM from 4.0.4 and 4.1.2)
