Has anyone with the Atrix HD tried connecting to an access point or wireless network utilizing RADIUS authentication?
My Nexus 7 connects to this network perfectly fine but my Atrix HD was unable to on ICS and is still unable to on JB.
Just curious if anyone else has managed to get this to work for them or if it is a larger issue.
Also, if there is anyone who connects fine to a RADIUS enabled wireless network I have included a picture of the settings we use for our network to compare and make sure we are having an apples to apples discussion.

Rooted the NC last night and love it, only problem is that it can't find my OG Droid's Wireless Tether signal. It connects to my router at home just fine, and I know that the Droid signal is working because I have a coworker connected with his iPod touch.
Anybody else have a similar experience?
It's because the NC doesn't support Ad-Hoc WiFi out of the box..
Find the thread that ads Ad-hoc and you are good to go.
There is an issue with the current fix though, so you need to toggle between Infrastructure and ad-hoc..

I've read alot about wifi tethering on the forums, but I'm curious if the Nook Color (rooted) is able to become a wifi hotspot itself. The reason being, I have some wireless ip cameras that I'd like to set it up as baby monitors and it would be convenient be able to watch the stream directly on the nook (instead of having to go from ip cam --> router --> nook). This would be a significantly better setup than using the stuff they sell at toysrus/target etc (and cheaper too, in some ways).
From what I've read, there's lots of info on properly setting a tethering on a phone and connect the nook to that, but nothing on having a nook as its own hotspot. Also, this would be an LAN, so there's no need for an actual connection to the web.

Tethering requires 2 ip connections: one for wifi and one to the rest of the net. On the phone that would be the wifi and the carrier network. Since the NC only has wifi you cannot tether.
What maybe could work if you can operate your cameras in ad-hoc wifi mode (like computer to computer without a router). You would definitely need an other linux kernel on the NC to do that. Do not know if the Cyanogenmod kernels allow for ad-hoc wifi mode on the NC.
Check on the development forum for ad-hoc wifi, again assuming your cameras can work in ad-hoc mode.
The purpose is for a LAN (closed feed), so a carrier network would be unnecessary.
I know that Barnacle Wifi Tether has the option setup a connection (and forgo the data/carrier network (under "Local Mode -- Don't wait for data connection)).
My particular problem, is the ip cam doesn't allow for ad-hoc networks ( I believe the scene is working on opening the firmware and adding this feature).
It sounds like to me, that Barnacle Tether can issue DHCP and I can connect two Nooks together. Fun fact, but useless in many ways, cuz what's the point in connecting 2 nooks.
I'm curious if anyone else might be able to shed some light on this issue. Is it possible to have the nook act as a router or an access point?

PS. To connect the 2 nooks together, I had to enable ad hoc mode by changing the wpa_supplicant file (in another post).
PSS. For those who are interested in doing what I'm doing, my current setup for my house includes several ip cameras, router, nook color (using "ip cam viewer" software). Everything runs great inside my house as the router takes care of business. I can view/pan/tilt the baby monitor (ip cam) around on my nook which is excellent. My particular ip cam can also record audio and play audio, so I can hear the baby, but unfortunately the nook has NO mic, so I can't talk back (but who would need too??).
PSSS. The issue is currently, I can't take one of the cameras away from home (vacation or to visit family) without taking a spare router/access point with me. I was hoping for one less thing to carry (but at least routers are pretty small and cheap these days).

Joey, have you been able to come up with any updates? I am looking to get an android tablet and foscam ip camera for a similar set up. One thing that I can't figure out is how to make a direct connection to the camera without the need for a router when travelling to friends and family. Thanks!
No luck so far, the nook can't act as a HOT SPOT, and foscam/ipcam development doesn't have any updates either (for ad-hoc connections).
The cheapest solution (both time/money) is to buy a wireless AP (ASUS WL-330gE - newegg has this item for $22 after rebate). The problem is obviously the extra unit and the power cord that comes with it. It's a small unit and I can glue it down to the ipcam.
It's not the most elegant solution (tablet --> wireless AP --> ipcam), but it's still fairly small and cheaper than the stuff at babyrus.

I am not sure if this is an inspire problem or a hero problem so I am cross posting:
I have a HTC Hero rooted and is running Wireless Tether. The signal can be picked up by my laptop and can be used without a problem - this means the Wireless Tether application is running without a problem.
However my HTC Inspire cannot pick up the signal. Does anyone know why? The Inspire is rooted and has CoreDroid7 (this should be irrelevant) and can pick up all other wireless signals around the house/in the neighborhood. When I manually add it, it says "not in range, remembered"
is it a hardware limitation where the hero is broadcasting at a b/g/n spectrum?

edit1: the hero is emitting wireless b signal, so the inspire should pick it up
edit2: i ran wireless tether on the inspire just for kicks and the hero picked it up (that means i know how to configure the app - which is pretty brainless... just pick default options and change the SSID). this also rules out a signal issue on either of the phones

The Hero only broadcasts an AdHoc signal.....Some devices pick up the signal some devices don't and it most certainly can be rom specific. For example I tether to my Nook Color all of the time. When running CM7 on the Nook it picks up the AdHoc signal just fine, when running Honeycomb I actually have to change the wifi supplicant within the rom to get it to find the AdHoc signal and disregard all accesspoint wifi signals.
some roms do support adhoc wifi so i would look around in the inspire forums
I am able to bluetooth tether my Bionic to my Transformer in 3g only. I perform the usual steps of pairing and connecting to the internet. The bluetooth logos (bluetooth logo and blue-square logo with bluetooth symbol in middle) show up and the notification says connected the internet. That is if I switch to CDMA only. However, when in 4g/LTE, I perform the same steps and when I click on the browser and apps I can't get a connection. It will tell me connected to the internet but the square blue logo with the bluetooh symbol in it does not show up. My co-worker has a transformer and just got a Razr. Using the same connection process as me she can tether while on the 4g network. As you would expect, it is much faster. Does the Razr have a different setting than the Bionic? I get the same 3g only results if I use pda net or pda net tablet. Any suggestions? Anybody had luck bluetooth tethering over 4g? I am not rooted and don't intend to root.
I have an unrooted OG Droid running on stock Froyo (2.2.3). It's off-contract, but I have been using it by connecting to my wifi router (Netgear WNDR3700). Everything has been working fine until Friday when it stopped connecting to my wifi router. I tried reconnecting, but it cannot seem to find the router at all, even if I'm standing right next to it. My router does not appear on the list of available wi-fi networks when I look at Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Wi-fi settings. The strange thing is that it seems to pick up all of the other wi-fi networks from my neighbors without any problems; it just can't seem to find my wifi router.
All of my other Android devices (Nexus S, Evo 3D, Galaxy Tab, Logitech Revue) can find and connect to my router without any problems. It's just as though the router doesn't even exist from the perspective of the OG Droid. I haven't made any recent configuration changes on any of my devices or router. My other wi-fi devices (laptops, printer) don't have any issues finding and connecting to my router either.
I've tried rebooting, pulling the battery, etc. without any luck. Any ideas?
By chance did you unplug the router, my og DROID loses wifi sometimes and even though phone sees it won't connect but usually resetting router gets it to reconnect.

I haven't done that yet, because as far as I can tell, the router is working fine. The issue that I'm seeing differs from yours as the phone doesn't even see the router right now.
It's a bug in Android. Delete all the remembered wifi accounts on the phone and then you should be able to scan again. Once you scan, it should pick up the router again. Had this happen on a couple different android devices.

I gave this a try, but it didn't work. I can still see all of the other available wi-fi networks near me, but not my own router. Any other thoughts?

I've had this with my router whenever i reset it.
its because there are too many routers in your area on the same wifi channels . change the channel your router is on until its one with less or no routers on it and it will appear eventaullly.

I have same problem with you.
My LWW cannot find/detect the home wifi, but another device (laptop and samsung galaxy mini) can work well with the wifi network.
but my LWW can find another wifi network except my home network. but sometimes when I don't use the LWW for long time, and when I started to turn the wifi on, it can work well. but after I stopped the connection and start to use the wifi again, it cannot find the network again
I just had the same problem and fixed it.
Sometimes routers are configured to select and use the less crowded wireless channel. That can cause your wifi to eventually use channel 12 or 14. Like sleepyguy007 said, it is more likely to happen if there are too many wifis in the area and all channels are crowded.
As far as I know, Android devices are by default configured to scan only up to channel 11. So if the wifi is in 12 or 14, it will not be recognized.
Go to the wifi config screen, where all the networks are listed. There, with the menu button, go to "Advanced"->"Regulator domain" and set Android to scan all 14 channels, that should do the trick.
I hope that is the cause of the problem and you can fix it... Otherwise it could be a bug, and the solution may be harder

my device is not showing any network on my device to connect wifi.
