Not sure if everyone knows this, but the Nexus4 has some hidden menus, swipe from either of the top corners to access them....
Thank me, if you didn't know this!

So what I have noticed (maybe I am doing this wrong) its only the light settings not advanced menu. And you can access those lights settings with the normal press and hold method.

There are two menus, one on the right, one of the left, the one on the left also has a settings and white balance, the one on the right, exposure.
Never knew about the press and hold.....
It's just a shame there is no countdown timer

it's not a secret menu, theres no new options there it's just a shortcut for exposure and white balance settings. You can get to these setting by pressing and holding anywhere on the screen.

Those only appear because of the way you swipe due to its location on the screen. It's not some secret shortcut.

Just picked up one of these beauties (truely samsung paid attention to the iPad), aside from the annoying lack of a micosd slot (and touchwiz, really has no dev wanted to make a touchwizless rom? haha)
Can one remove the screen shot button from the launcher? frequently when I type or go to used the "recent list" I accidentally hit it, I must have 20 screen shots in less than 24hrs!
thanks!
Bump. I wish they could have given you the option to disable it.
Still waiting for a dolution to this myself. Tried launcher replacements like adw ex or launcher pro but nothing
Ok if you freeze com.sec.android.screencapture (search for screen in case i spelled it wrong) in TitaniumBackup it disables it, however the icon will remain.
Not perfect but a workable solution until cm9 arrives for us!

Thanks Ill try this. I don't mind the button but a screen shot out of context can make for an embarrassing moment. Especially when your girlfriend picks up the tablet.

That is true because I turned it off on my 8.9 LTE but damn if I can remember how I did it.
Currently Skyrocketing into Android Space!
none that I've seen under "screen", I am on a custom rom, Overcome
You can freeze it with Titanium Backup. The button remains but is inert, so you're not taking random screen shots willy nilly.
I think the Tab Plus has the functionality to disable/remap that button, it's not on my 8.9 LTE or 10.1 WiFi.
Yes I mentioned that fix earlier, strange they have it in the tab +. maybe we can port it over.
There is a setting in the display area. I changed mine to an apps key. So it now does the same as the apps icon in the top right corner.
Took me a while to figure it out but under settings go to screen and configure the Quick Launch settings.

It was...when I flashed the AT&T firmware, I got the setting option. Win.
Downside, I also got all the AT&T bloatware, and an older version of Market.

For Android 4,go to settings, select display, then select quick launch and then select the desired option. You can replace the screen capture button with something else or just remove it.
The new HTC One has been released. However, only 2 visible button is presented. Home and back button. So do anyone know how the HTC One to access the other functions like "Multi-task" and "Menu" ? Is the "hTC" icon in the bottom of the phone also a functionable button?

From what I just read, double-tap on home brings up recent apps. Not sure about the menu though...it probably uses the 3-dot menu standard in ics and above.
If you ask me, I'd say they should've ditched the buttons or whatever they're called and just put some extra screen real estate and give us a software/onscreen navigation bar.

Double tapping home gives you the recent apps while holding down home will launch you to Google now. I'm not sure about the menu system. Its probably the 3 dot system like the above post.
Yes no one seems to know how to access the menu.
Access menu is the 3 dot on screen, just like htc one x

Landscape view is not supported on a stock rom as far as I know, I would wait for some rom development I'm sure it will get baked in. I noticed on this phone that the ... will appear on the far right if there is no place in the app for a soft key menu. So if the ... is there use that, if it isn't there should be a place in the app where you can press to do the same thing as pressing the menu. I actually wouldn't mind a full time menu key in the far right, I think it's very handy. I original capacitive 4 buttons on the evo were still my favorite lay out.

If you use GravityBox & XPosed, you can have one there at all times. See screenshots. They were taken from my Nexus 7 Tablet, but you should expect no difference, with the exception of the small window in the first screenshot (courtesy of the XHaloFloatingWindow module).
I might have to give this a try. The space is there for the menu key so I wouldn't mind it always being there.

That's definitely something that I am likely to use on every device with on screen buttons. Using GravityBox, I remapped the menu to switch to the last app when double tapped, and show the power menu when long pressed. It's wonderful.

Just found out a little tip which many of you might already know. If you are missing the menu button, especially for outdated apps like the xda app, you can still access it. The note 4 replaced the menu button with recent apps button, but if you long press the recent apps button you will get to the menu function.
That is all. Have a good day.

Thanks for that. I was using a friends S5 last night and that was driving me mad. My note 4 is at home waiting for me to open the package
If they completely removed it, then yes but holding task switcher for a couple of more seconds then it doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that I have to hold the back button every time to access Multi window bar as app switcher only has opened apps.

Its not about missing it just because you prefer to press the physical button. There are many apps which don't have the soft menu button. For example, go to Google Now and try to change the settings, but don't long press. Good luck with that.

There is. There is no way Google didn't implement soft menu button when they themselves are pushing on screen nav bar and soft menu buttons. Open Google now and it's bottom right corner. Might need to scroll all the way down. That might be the only annoying thing about it but it's there and very easy to access.

I agree with what your saying. But you've picked 2 really bad examples. You can get to menu without menu button in xda!
I am used to Android tablets which don't have the menu button anyway, so I don't miss it on the phone.

Which bulb did you buy?? I use Phillips Hue and had to install the Wiz app to set up the bulbs, then go to Google Home and go to Works With Google, look for Wiz and add them to Home from there.
Whichever Bulbs you have you may have to install their app first, then go set up the bulbs in Home

It's an app called magic home. I installed it and also added it to Google home as well.
I can use it from both apps now but still it's not showing in power menu
In the power menu, tap the three dots next to the home name and tap add controls. See if it lets you add the bulb there.
