Yeah what the hell do we use? lol
Hahaha.....yea tru!!!
I'm gonna run to evo page lets check it
As of right it seems that none of the Video calling apps work with 2.3 at the moment. It'll be a little bit before devs get an update out. I assure you that it's not just the video apps working, but other apps as well. It's the same thing that went down we first got froyo.
Tango
Try Tango, It also works cross platform, to iPhails and CPU's...
I tried yahoo, aim, tango and qik. They all don't work...I hope they do something about this soon

I can't wait for the Google Talk Video Chat For now, I guess we need to wait for updates to Tango, Qik, etc.
Here is Tango's official announcement: http://feedback.tango.me/tango/topi..._facing_camera_on_your_nexus_s?from_gsfn=true

I have the same problem.
I tweeted fring and they said they are working in it.....with video calling the back camera its being used instead of the front. Be patient people its on the way!

Just used Tango, via wifi...bro in law on plane using iphone4...worked flawless.

Tango still the only video chat option

Has anyone discovered any other options for video chat yet? I wish there was one with a desktop client....
Was looking for another app as well... tried Fring but it uses the back camera.
Tango sucks though, it's so stuttery and laggy even over wifi. I'm gonna try Qik next, but it doesn't seem like there's any good video calling app for android yet.

Does Qik not work yet? Sorry if it doesn't work, I don't have a ns, just a suggestion

ooVoo did not allow me to do video chat as it will not let me select using the front facing camera as my video source in the app settings on my Nexus S nor my girlfriends. So it is not a viable choice for Nexus S owners.
I wrote qik support on this last week, but they couldn't give be an ETA on a video chat app for NS.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
About to just program a video chat app myself. -_-
On ooVoo's website, it says that they are working on Nexus S compatibility. The last time I checked was couple weeks ago, so yeah, could have changed by now.
nothing works except tango. Which 'works' but doesn't work. I have a bunch of video chat apps installed on my phone waiting patiently for one of them to update.
I am SO STOKED about oovoo! Desktop to mobile! Anf they announced support for NS!!! argh!

anyone tried ooVoo yet ?
I am hoping Skype video support comes to Android sometime soon. My family that lives all over the country uses it to keep in touch, so it'd be nice to have that option from my phone. I don't really have a reason to use video chat on my phone otherwise at the moment.
Not available for us yet.

currently Skype works very well in Android, just no video
voice only at the moment
I tried ooVoo and it looks promising, but yeah it doesn't work for NS yet. The UI is nice, and the desktop client seems good. Keeping an eye on this one...
Can't believe Google dropped the ball on this. THEIR phone with a FFC and no Google Chat video.

Fring now with Video!

Fring now supports Nexus S
Fring now supports the front facing camera of the Nexus S.

Cool! But as I understand it Skype blocked Fring some time ago. Is Fring-to-Fring the only way to video chat? Or can you video chat with someone on Google Talk through Fring? That'd be awesome...

yes
but the nice thing about Fring, is that you can add all your ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, etc contacts into it
is better than Trillian
although i prefer the Yahoo IM to Yahoo IM video chat better
as it works with PC counterpart

Bummer - still waiting on something with a PC client for NS.
None of my peeps (BF included) have a FFC smartphone....
Sweet!
How is it? Is it better than Tango?
Anything is better than that pos

Fring has better video quality than Tango.
How do you know who on your contacts has fring?
Anybody know the video chat quality on this?
FYI, Tango got updated today also, said it updated some quality issues with audio/video.
Dont forget the video that Fring made for the announcement

I tried tango last night over wifi - was easy to set up and find a friend, connected via wifi and tested talking to my brother who is in a town a few hours away who has a galaxy tab. I was fairly impressed with it, although it is a bit of a slide show... Fring is better? Last time I used it was on my old old E71.
Fring now DOES video chats!
anyone tried?

The previous version of Tango wasn't as good as Frings, but now the new Tango has better quality than Fring. No lag and worked great over TMo in San Fran.
I just want Skype video chat.

[Q] No Video Conferencing App???

I have the Dell Streak 7 wifi edition and I am surprised that Dell made a front facing camera tablet but no built in video conferencing app. Is this correct, or did they took the app out of the wifi edition? Anyone have any suggestion on a good video conferencing app for the Dell Streak 7?

Yep. I have hc 3.2, so the market sees my streak as the xoom
The tmobile version included their custom qik app. Worked fine until I went to honeystreak. Now use tango. Fring has worked fine too. Tried the unlocked Skype with video but apparently the video codec the streak uses is not compatible with it.
Tango works
Tango works, also can communicate with Iphone. Skype has not worked so far even the latest release.

Cross-platform video talk (with Nokia)

Alright, I need someone with broader knowledge than me.
I would like to achieve video calling between this Nokia C7 and my G2x. What are my options?
None as yet.
Use fring to video chat. Best app for video chatting on all platforms. Can even do group video calling.

Video chat Fring works on G2x?
If you get on GB, you could use GTalk on the 2X and Fring on the Nokia maybe.

Noo, don't take it back. By the same logic, Skype video calling works on G2x as well.

No, skype video doesn't.
Or you could just do a regular video call... (Could be expensive depending on your operator of course...)
edit: regular means through the phone network, not the interwebz
