Hey does that last picture show the camera lens & flash in a protected section from the rest of the back? Any other pic always makes them look embedded (especially the camera lense)
Wow you have 26 tabs open on your first picture!
P.S. how is the battery life for ya?
I'm guessing it's one of the earlier production models, not the latest revision. All of the review models have been different.

I usually communicate more with texts than anything. Also a moderate (sometimes heavy) data user, and have 2-3 email accounts synced. I'm hoping this thing will last me from when I wake up till at least an hour two before bed. Wishful thinking?

Hey guys,
I have a really bad battery drain the last days. Today, my phone is unplugged for about 12h and I only have 16% left. the screen was activated for about 15min and it was "awake" for about 2 minutes. I should have at least 50% left. Today, after I unplugged my phone I left it alone for about 2 hours.. when I unlocked it I lost 20%! I usually need 20% for wachting a 2h+ movie. A week ago it would still be at 95-99%. I don't know what's the problem, I installed what I do always and the sync. settings are the same as always. I made my phone S-Off and updated the firmware to 2.24 a few days ago.. could that be the reason? I had no issues. That's the third day with this bad battery drain.
I installed wakelock detector and it shows that Facebook would be the problem (and google services also) so I turned off the auto sync. .. maybe that's because of the update 2-4 days ago. My phone also has been fallen from 40 cm height but no recognizable issues Can someone confirm that the firmware update or facebook update are causing such an awful battery drain? I guess it happened after I installed Maximus7 v10.. I'm now on Viper.. same settings as always and I´m using them for months. That's weird, I hope somebody can help me to find it out.
Same here... Ever since the 4.2.2 update my cpu gets stressed a lot, battery hot, and battery life worse than before. Especially on custom kernels I noticed. Different governors don't help, and if I underclock it will use more cores at the new max. frequency and lag a lot

What R U Guys ROMs on?
I was getting some bad battery drain for a while around the time I moved to 4.2.2. Assuming you're getting a lot of Google Services wakelocks, this might help (it solved my issues). Force stop and clear data on these apps:
-Google Services Framework
-Google Play Services
-Maps
-Google+
Then delete your Google account and sign back in (you need to do this or your account will be borked by clearing data).
I think the update may have created some issues with the services framework so that it syncs more than it needs to.
I'm on Renovate M4. Completely clean install, so I don't think the above is relevant, but I'll try anyway
I already had this ever since I tried viper 1.0.0

My post was aimed at the OP, actually. Your issues sound like bad kernel settings. By any chance are you turning off mpdecision?
Guys, never mind for me! I did a system wipe and flash a few hours ago, to see if it helped..

To be very honest, I never thought about those... Could be the problem, though it's not probable. I've done lots of clean flashes and kept on having this, and now I think about it, I always used custom kernels. This one time that I don't, it's ok
But every single custom kernel having this issue also seems a bit odd, to say the least.
I tried every single kernel available for 4.2.2, with and without OC and UV

I usually give it 2-4 days, depending on how bad it is and if I have much time to flash. So far faux was the worst, I used his recommended battery saving settings and it resulted in heat (44-47℃ light use) and instability, so that kernel was gone the next day

Since i switched to Maclaw's CM 11 about a month ago and i had no trouble with the phone untill i updated to version 3/8 and the versions after that..the battery gets drained fast even when the phone is always underclocked to 200 MHz which never made an issue for me in terms of being a bit slow.
It used to drop just 1% every 15 min with heavy data use..a lot of the time it even lasted more than that! Now drops 1% every 5 min or less with the same heavy data use!!!
What went wrong?
It's just CM 11. Remember, it's still under heavy development, so it's not 100% yet. Don't worry, they'll get it fixed.

Got a lot better with Carbon without doing any more scientific research into what was eating my battery. If you still have CM installed, maybe a simple "top -m 10" in an adb shell will give a clue to what the power drain is. (I'm new to adb and forget how easy it is can be to have a linux shell on my phone. :silly

well i found out that my solution didn't really work. but i now have a new solution which seems to work, i got this from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2683451 by factorexh
1. tick "set on boot" at governor and i/o of cpu, then set governor to abbysplug and i/o to sio
I set it like this and it seems to work but not 100% sure since it's the first day
So i installed Carbon and left it for 2 days and the battery was better but then i flashed CM back and the problem was still there. So i flashed the Stock rom back, rooted the phone then installed CM...at first everything seems back to normal but later that day the battery little started draining faster!
I thought that maybe coz i disabled/froze some system and built in apps that it what caused the problem but now i made sure i didnt disable any app, only force stop some non system appsm j and found the battery still draining!m
I have only 4 things running in my "Running apps" section:
1- Settings
2- Greenify
3- Setcpu (underclocked to 200)
4- Smart keyboard trial
THAT'S ALL!!

i don't know about that maybe your batt is demaged but still
CM11 the 20th 3rd 14th version mentioned a change about battery life.. they update the zip very often just check if the zip has another date in the name then flash it...
and try to change what i said above.. about stock i don't know how to help but i have my battery now for longer than half a day on and it's on 64 with display on mid-high
How fast is the battery charging(with the original charger). If it charges from empty to full very fast, then it's probably a bad battery. Both mine and my wife's battery has died on us after just a year of use, so it seems like the sIII mini's batteries is not lasting much more than 400 cycles.

Yeah, i've noticed. It's kinda a pain to keep downloading and flashing on a daily basis though.
Do you have Wifi/mobile data on during those hours?
I dont have Skype nor Viber, Whatsapp, Facebook messenger and all those messenger apps.
Mind if i asked you if you disabled any apps? System or downloaded?
And what's your current LCD density? Mine is 200, i tried to go for 180 but the phone started acting a bit weird.
